BYOND Key: Silvorz

Discord Username: silvore

Character Name: Jarric Naran

Item Name:  I have put the names and descriptions in the item description section (this is one item with a selector list)

Item Function(s): It is a cape meant to be worn over coats and other items, it is a single item using Elyran holoclothing code to switch how it looks

Item Description:

base holographic cape

A plain, white hexagonal-patterned cape, uses hardlight fabric and masks to form a loose, uncomfortable cloak into bootlegs of one's choosing, it has a hidden dial for three options.

heroic holo-cape

An obsidian black cape with golden trimming, mimicking the color of Rredouane. It gives off an air of power.

chivalric holo-cape

A sky blue cape with snow white fur on the inside, mimicking the color of the New Kingdom of Adhomai. It gives off an air of confidence.

starry holo-cape

A nebula purple cape with a gradient, mimicking the color of the night sky. It gives off an air of irreality.

Why is your character bringing this item to work?: Jarric himself doesn't care too much about being fashionable, but understands the importance of such a piece of clothing, and of course would wear it to work to represent his god Rredouane and his home country.

How did your character obtain this item?: Ali-Reza Askari is apart of the Osman Family, through his late mother's side, the same ones that own Osman Electronic Industries of Elyran Magpulse Hovertech fame. He's currently working on the Horizon as effectively a citizen scientist after convincing his father of it's significance in phoron, and when Jarric gave him a moderately-priced gift on Christmas, felt obligated as a Elyran Phoron Magnate descendent to pay back the gift far-too-many-times over.

What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: This cape is probably one of the most heartfelt gifts Jarric has ever received, not being the type to make many friends who would give gifts in first place, and shows how much the ship and it's people have changed the way he sees himself, at least a bit

Additional Comments: The coding for the actual switching forms part is nearly finished, so don't worry about having to do the code for that part,

(@JormungandrButCooler (Steiner on discord) made both the sprites and is making the code for the cape)

Gifts have been accepted in the past although it's not always a very interesting reason and in this case I think your item could go further if you had more a story to it than just, your character gave someone something and they paid it back in an excessive manner.

Other than that, I'm a bit a leery of letting the Elrya holoclothing mechanics and aesthetic go to other factions. I'd ask if there's any other methods you can think of here. We've had in the past, things such as a doublesided cloak to still give it multiple icon states.
