Total Ban Length: Antagonist Ban
Banning staff member's Key: Unknown
Reason of Ban: Consistently poor antagonist play, including disconnecting without informing anyone that you#39re leaving. This is poor sportsmanship and is not what we want to see on the server. Once you understand what you have done wrong, feel free to appeal on the forums here: https://forums.aurorastation.org/forum/21-unban-requests/
Reason for Appeal:

I've only been playing on this server for the past couple weeks, and I'm still trying to understand the vibes that people are looking for with their HRP. I've been reading the Wiki pages for antagonist play, and the guides on this forum. The primary issue seems to be coming up with a solid gimmick that isn't "Himeo Syndicalist Revolutionary, yeehaw," and disconnecting regularly because I have outside obligations that interrupt my play (also I've been warned that repeatedly trying to escape or "resist spam" isn't allowed, so once I'm wrecked and in MedBay I don't really know where to go from there, which was the last issue that led to my antagonist ban). I'm definitely not a ganker, and rarely kill players during my antagonist runs, mostly because I'm still incompetent at the combat mechanics. I try to create new situations for people to interact with, and not necessarily to just complete my objectives etc.

I think continuing to play antagonist roles and garnering more experience is the only way to resolve these issues of "poor antagonist play." And always sending an ahelp before disconnecting, and genuinely having a good reason for it. I've been enjoying this server, and would like to continue to play on it.

Thanks.

Hello. I was the one who applied the ban.

As per the rules listed here, "Please use cryogenic sleep whenever possible: it’ll free up the job slot for others. And please remember to store your gear in your office/work area before going to cryogenic sleep." This applies to antagonists. If you cannot complete a round as an antagonist, in my opinion, don't play the round. If you get caught and disconnect without saying anything, that's really poor sportsmanship, because it implies you don't care what anyone else thinks about you leaving, about the roleplay you've previously generated, about creating more roleplay. That is, after all, what an antagonist does here.

I'm not so sure about this, as you've been an antagonist more than not at this point, and its hard to see who your characters are. What do they stand for? What drives them? We don't know, because all antagonist play is non-canon so no one really knows you. I'd like to see you more of a player and less of an antagonist.

I promise to only disconnect when I *need* too and if that happens, I'll ahelp. As for the last part, I think I should create characters that only exist as antagonists, and characters that only exist as non-antagonists. That way they can breathe a little and I can break into the social cliques that exist on Aurora through regular, consistent play.
