Overview of the Incident:

This one’ll be quite something. Early in the reported shift, Mining returned with a message of pirate activity in the Valley Hale sector. Mining crew was shot at and injured during their work. Upon receiving this report, the Command line began discussions about further actions. I took lead in coordinating Command, due to Oberst’s absence in decision-making. The location of the reported pirates was unknown, however, and we didn’t act immediately. Instead, I ordered necessary preparations in case we decide to combat this obvious hazard to the sector.

After verifying and approaching the location of the pirates, and verifying a civilian captive, the Captain made the decision that we were not going to handle this situation. As this is a Captain-level decision, I initiated a Command vote, overturning the Captain’s decision, with the vote permitting Security to investigate the site and act according to their better judgement. The vote was discarded after a Head of Staff voted against.

Subsequently, the Captain called me to his office and ordered my suspension. His reason was that he was not satisfied with my conduct surrounding the situation and the Command line. I refused to believe his objectivity, as his arguments centred around the disagreements between himself and myself. From my perspective, this suspension was ordered because I tried overturning his decision according to the SCC’s regulations surrounding Captain authority. Furthermore, I was refused consultation of Cornelius Huizhong.

Under orders of the Captain, an arrest was made against me due to refusal to comply with orders. Said order was handing over my ID. I handed over my ID to Oberst after the third time he ordered my suspension. I accept this charge as being valid, due to not complying with the order, and I fully complied with any Security orders. I contest the suspension as an act, and request an investigation be done in Oberst’s management method, as I have witnessed him to be acting out of ego, status and personal bias against a decision I made that complied with regulations and falls within my authority as Executive Officer.

Submitted Evidence:

Due to my removal from office, I cannot provide any accurate transcripts or scans. The telecommunications logs of this shift, filtered to the Command frequency, will show the way I approached the situation.

Would you like to be personally interviewed?:
[X] - Yes
[ ] - No

Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?:

Cornelius Huizhong – Head of Security; I voiced my full disapproval of the Captain’s authority while complying with the arrest procedure. No other heads were involved with the suspension or arrest.
Actions taken: My suspension.

Additional Notes: I’m not entirely sure if this constitutes as a canon IR because it was during an autotraitor round (which had no bearing on our actions), and because it has overmap involvement (due to the asteroid base PoI being involved).
