evandorf Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Reporting Personnel: Magnus Sorensen Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Captain Game ID: cCA-dEI1 Personnel Involved: Mania Haller, Head of Security - Offender Magnus Sorensen, Captain - Witness Secondary Witnesses: Alarzoeh Has, Officer - Witness Hazel #S-H14.47, Paramedic - Witness Lynn Reyer, Warden - Witness Time of Incident: Approximately 02:18 Ship Time Real Time: 0500 UTC 11/15/2025 Location of Incident: SCCV Horizon Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [X] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [X] - Misconduct [ ] - Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: During the shift in question, the Horizon attempted to board, salvage, and recover what we could of the NICSS Verloc which had recently been discovered again after a number of years missing. When the team boarded they were confronted by self-described salvagers already at work aboard. There was some initial tension, including the taking captive of one of our crew and a good number of the team being exposed to radiation. The captive was eventually released and the crew returned to the Horizon along with the salvagers and two Necropolis IPCs. I met the salvagers with Haller and others present. I offered them payment for their information, willingness to drop any claims of salvage, and de-escalation of the situation. Remaining willing crew returned to the crumbling ship with suits better rated for radiation exposure and collected blueprints and other valuables before fleeing the collapsing wreck. All of this was accomplished despite Haller's blood lust and attempts to undermine my negotiations with the salvagers. She consistently made it clear that she wanted to simply shoot and kill anyone who was in our way. She was present at our talks and questioned my decision to resolve the issue peacefully, calling them terrorists and stating that they deserved nothing from us. I don't care that she took issue with my methods but blatant insubordination bordering on failure to execute orders warrants an examination. Not to mention the potential damage caused if she had been able to undermine the talks with our visitors. I didn't have time to speak with her at length about this or take action after the fact as the crew was quite busy with the Verloc through the whole of the shift and as other command members went to quarters I had to step in and coordinate multiple departments. Submitted Evidence: NA - The majority of the conduct was in person and not recorded. Would you like to be personally interviewed? [X] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why? No. There was no time. Actions taken: NA Additional Notes: Haller performed her job well throughout the expedition and her tactical decisions in the field are not in question. I only take issue with their actions and statements aboard the Horizon while the opposing crew was visiting. Quote
