Mr.Popper Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Add another fillable field in IPC character setup called "custom species". Whatever you type in the box is then displayed as your species in-game. For example: you have an IPC named Bob and you set his custom species to "T-800". When someone examines him in-game the window says "This is Bob, a T-800" instead of "This is Bob, a Baseline Frame". It would be purely cosmetic and IPCs would still use the components and mechanics of their frame. Some benefits of this off the top of my head: Help get the ball rolling on establishing original brands, especially non-shells that aren't visually distinctive sprite-wise. Instead of having to explain to everyone that you're a T-800 they could tell at a glance. IPCs would feel more diverse without having to add more frames. Former brand IPCs that were forced to change their name could still show their pedigree in a visible way. Say Jane was a Hazel before being forced to rebrand. Instead of her having to explain in her FT her Hazel-ness or exposit it, you could just examine and immediately see "This is Jane, a Hazel". The code could be reused for other custom subspecies, like genetically modified humans. 5
NM_ Posted May 19 Posted May 19 I'd prefer a compromise of "This is Bob, T-800 Series, Baseline Frame!" or some variation that still preserves the particular IPC frame. Costs nothing to retain information on inspect. Otherwise I don't have a strong preference, looks good! 3
