Ikky
BYOND Key: Donofnyc3 Character Names: Unwani Rimirdalv, Oen'g Issek How long have you been playing on Aurora: Not... Long, Mostly a few rounds here and there when I'm really feeling spessmehns Species you are applying to play: Tajara! What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blonde/Wheat Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Have so! Why do you wish to play this specific race: Honestly, it's less the species itself, more two characters I've been wanting to pick up who are Tajara. I've really tried to get into the RP with Unwani and that was a mistake due to his style of robotics research (More transhuman/resleeving) which isn't how Aurora does their cyborgs, and ...Oen'g's just not that fun. I don't find medical fun anymore. Really, I'd like to try my big idiot cat. Play less stressful civilian jobs, turn off my brain IC and OOC and just enjoy the atmosphere. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I'm not gonna go the route of: DERE BIG CATS and more ...Go into the biology. For one, they're heavily suited for colder, more tundra climates, it shows in their thick fur, their sleep cycles(and night vision), their size and mass. The fur and hide's an obvious protection from cold. Their sleep cycle is more fitting to longer planetary rotations and day cycles. Their eyes support nocturnal activity for equally long night cycles. and their 'lithe' frame and mass is good for low and efficient energy and calorie use. Emotionally and neurologically? I'm not sure there's much to say. They're a sapient species with a wide variety of behaviors and views. Character Name: Nah'him Al-Nasser Please provide a short backstory for this character: In all honesty, Nah'him is ...To be blunt, not bright. The eldest brother in a trio of three siblings, he's about 7' 2", somewhat built and a pretty naive meathead. Coming from a very lower class family. He had to work early in his life to help support it, and given it had only been a decade since the recent overthrowing of the ruling body. His education suffered badly. He reads and writes poorly and has a poor grasp on most basic subjects. He's had quite a few manual labor jobs, most recently at the spaceport of his home city. It was little surprise he had gotten mixed up with one of the local cartels who paid Nah'him to smuggle contraband in the cargo he was responsible to unload and offload. Currently he's been released from medium security prison for a five year sentence after moderate assault on a peace officer and possession of contraband following an inspection that was based off an anonymous tip. Relying on his brother's word and (Mostly) clean record to get entry level employment and move on with his life. What do you like about this character? That he's there to play when I really want to play something simple, fun and engaging on their own merits. It's easy to make my own fun when all I have is a poorly educated oxen of a tajara, some coworkers and a society he's unfamiliar with and behind on. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I don't know how to answer this honestly without sounding self indulging. To repeat like I said in my unathi app? I have a habit of making snowflakes that somehow work in the setting they're given and play more like a good support cast, and I'm happy with that. I've played several tabletop systems, MMO's, and other RP outlets and come out of most of them with positive experiences. Notes: *If it wasn't obvious by now, Nah'him is the older brother of Omnir, played by Jams. *Why's he so tall? Genetic quirk, it's also very not good on his joints, bone structure and heart. Jamini
Not much to say. He's Omnir's Ji. His "Big" Ji. Considering we've done the shtick elsewhere I obviously wouldn't oppose this application. I generally do not create dual characters with people who I do not enjoy to spend time with or think are poor players/roleplayers. Being nitpicky like I am however, the Tajaran were discovered in 2418 and the first revolution ended in 2421. Since Nah'him is 29 (I asked) he'd have been born eight years after the revolution end.
