Xelnagahunter's IPC application

Recommended Posts

BYOND Key:Xelnagahunter

Character Names:Xel Carin, Vel Carin, Qwerty (AI/Cyborg)

Species you are applying to play: IPC

What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):

Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I've read everything I can find. Your lore section seems kinda of lacking on IPC lore, if there are things I'm overlooking please point me in the proper direction. I have been all over BayStation12's wiki though.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question

Why do you wish to play this specific race: I'm very interested in playing synthetics. I have the idea to retire my existing AI, this would have him being given an IPC for a body and getting "freed." This is pretty much my sole concept though in time I might have even more reason to play IPCs. Filling in this role will allow me to finally play a synthetic that isn't bound to the AI laws and isn't strictly an antag.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The synthetic nature of the IPC gives it strange outlooks on things. Those outlooks apply various quirks, from lack of proper emotions, to strange commentary. Those quirks make for fun role play opportunity. Personality is what the major,non-physical, difference is for me and it's what I intend to use to make my IPC unique as possible.

Character Name: Qwerty

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphsQwerty was designed as an AI unit several years ago and installed into various stations depending upon shift needs and station familiarity. It has served NanoTrasen in 15 different stations and on several large transport vessels. It's age is becoming a concern though, being one of the oldest machines in this current generation some of the AI techs have began to see it growing beyond what they wanted in the way of personality. Its time to retire it.

Moving forward, the plan is to integrate the AI's memories into the posibrain and to simply give it the Chassis. Qwerty has already been spoken to about this and has voulenteered to become a member of the NSS Aurora's (the station on which it spend it's last bit of time as an AI) crew to continue to further that station's agenda. This time it simply has the right to do so without governing laws and while getting paid.

What do you like about this character? It is an AI that lives to serve the crew. Even after having the laws removed, it will still have a hard time recalling that it isn't in an AI core or in an Android any longer and will act as though it still were. Qwerty has a friendly attitude and does it's very best to get along with everyone. Which could also be it's biggest downfall.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? Having a past in role-playing, from free-form to tabletop, I'd say I'm good. Considering that I'm still getting used to SS13 and the Aurora all together: 5 or 6 out of 10?

Notes: I'm not the greatest player in the world for the game. There are many aspects of every occupation that I don't know, Indeed I'm barely an apprentice in each department. Any feed back, criticisms, or hints would be helpful. Thanks a bunch.

SYBIL NEEDS A BROTHER.

Seriously - Qwerty is pretty much EXACTLY following in Sybil's path while yet being so different. It will make for great interaction.

That's without mentioning that Qwerty was a GREAT AI.

This player gets all of my approval. I will look forward to playing with them.

There's no feedback but the application is earnest enough and I was PM'd regarding the long wait time with no decision.

I'll accept this application.
