canon35 Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 So, I saw mentions of shuttle-cars in some news threads, and had some questions. 1. What is used for fuel? Is it only plasma or can you still use electricity and gasoline? 2. What do they look like? Can you make them to look like cars of today or further back? 3. What can they do that our cars can't? 4. How easy are they to make? Can you still fix up and modify a car with a simple shop or do you need advanced futuristic tools for them?
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Unless you're some vintage loving hipster, you would drive: 1) A shuttle car. They're powered by fusion energy, and just need to be plugged in. They're supes fast, and can fly in the sky highways, though being in the air puts it on autopilot for traffic safety reasons. 2) A wheeled shuttlecar. Cheaper, and drives on the airless wheels. Still electric. 3) Mass transit. Shuttle-trains. Most of the cities are dependent on mass-transit. 1. What is used for fuel? Is it only plasma or can you still use electricity and gasoline? Plasma is for space and power generation. 2. What do they look like? Can you make them to look like cars of today or further back? 3. What can they do that our cars can't? FLY! 4. How easy are they to make? Can you still fix up and modify a car with a simple shop or do you need advanced futuristic tools for them? You'd need to be a maintenance tech in skill to modify a car. IDK, imagine them like tesla motor cars. Probably need professional to look at it for anything serious.

Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Forgot the fifth question. 5. What do unathi have in terms of vehicles? Sorry for the delay! The anatomy, size, and general lizardness of the Unathi make vehicles extremely uncomfortable. Most people on Moghes ride Threshbeasts; giant salamanders that eat grass, or they just walk around. (This makes travel time an ass, and contributed to how divided the Unathi are - if the next town or village takes an hour to walk to, you'll probably not be bothered to care about those other villagers much most of your life) This has changed since the introduction of humanity on the scene. The super rich can now afford shuttle-craft, and get flown around on them. It's not very common yet because it's well above the price range of most of the serfs, but if you're a Lord you could fly around the place. There's still not a full infrastructure built around this though, so mid-air collisions are your own fault.
