BYOND key: VickChoatic

Character names: Victoria Beach

How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Around 8 months

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Since I started play ss13 I've only ever been on Aurora, I worked my way up from assistant to here and I want to be able to push myself even farther and become a head of staff

Why did you come to Aurora?: I enjoy roleplay and the server is well kept, people who grief and such are dealt with accordingly, admins help with problems and their are a lot of friendly people.

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:

Roleplaying is about changing your personality to fit a certain role, whether it be a bartender or a security officer you must act the part, roleplaying is getting to be someone you aren't and experiencing a new side of yourself. It should be about entertainment, amusement, and should but your mind to work.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:

I feel like when you are a head the people who work under you will look to you for advice and questions they have, you are essentially the role model for your underneaths and need to let them know what is okay and isn't before you start taking charge.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: You need to stay in character while playing and pay attention so you don't suddenly lose your lisp or something while speaking if you're an alien. I think that playing a whitelisted character is more challenging so you are expected to act more mature and be a better example to show that not anyone can be a special role.

Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions.

Character name: Victoria Beach

Character age: 30

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

Born in the Sol System on Saturn's moon Titan, Victoria Beach grew up in a very small community. She was a lonely child due to her right leg being missing at birth and the judgment of the the people. Knowing at a young age she wanted to go somewhere in life where she would be accepted she moved to earth at the age of 17 where her life began.

Beach had enough money to get into school, and shared an ampartment with a friend who introduced her to the man she has now been married to for eight years, Clement Beach. As soon as she could start working she got an internship on the NSS Aurora thanks to her husband who was an officer there. She worked long and hard on the station, slowly making her way up to one of the surgeons at age 30. Making many friends on the way Victoria is social and gets along with most crew and feels like she belongs there and won't be judged in her new found happiness and hopes she will be there for a long time.

What do you like about this character?:

Victoria is very driven and friendly, she tries to understand the situation and takes control if necessary. A very happy person and will do her job till the end no matter the circumstances.

What do you dislike about this character?:

She get's stressed rather easily and will always but others well beings before her own, she really takes things to heart which can be good or bad, and will tell someone if they are wrong.

What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?:

I think Victoria would be a good head of staff because a lot of the medical team respects her, she is well rounded in her knowledge of medical but lacking a bit in virology. She is easy to take control and understanding when conflict in the work place occurs, but will always do what she feels is right.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I would rate myself an 8/10 as I've been roleplaying for quite some time and try to bring different aspects of my personality into all characters I try.

Extra notes: I hope that I can make a larger contribution to then station by being a Aurora head of staff

I am constantly impressed by Victoria Beach's medical prowess and how it has improved over time. However, I believe both the character and the player need to further develop stress management abilities before they'd want to consider fully jumping into a head position. On that note I believe if given the opportunity that they would prove to be an excellent exemplar of the skills required of a CMO.

I've rped with victoria several times, she knows her stuff and has always been professional around me. I think she'd be a great cmo and I will enjoy her yelling at me to get off the counter. :D

Victoria is incredibly clever and is a strong roleplayer. I have had her be my doctor, yell at me, and break to me the death of a friend. I think that she is more than qualified as a CMO.

I really think that Victoria would be a wonderful CMO. More than qualified in all fields, and great at the Roleplay aspect as well. It's hard to really describe all the positives and the negatives. Can't think of a list of either, but I fully support her to become CMO.

I'm gonna come out and say it. I don't want Victoria Beach as a Head of Staff. She's not a pain to interact with, she's capable in her field, and she is pleasant in general.

Why not have her as a CMO? To put it simply, I feel it goes against the character. I still see Victoria as the Intern, then nurse character that supports the team and is genuinely competent. I recently saw her on-station as a surgeon and thought it was odd. I chalked it up to "well, she's finally reached her goal" and was happy for her. But seeing Victoria as a CMO is something that I can not visualize at all. I am inclined to believe VickChaotic could make a character that would fit the bill of Department Head much better than Victoria. Someone who has been in the business longer. Someone who has put the years in as a higher level medical professional.

Victoria is, to me, a rising doctor that has recently found a position that she can spend years building experience in as a surgeon. She should not be the "Boss" at this point in her life.

I would likely support this application if it was for a character other than Victoria. Think about what kind of person you see as the leader of a group of medical professionals and consider making them your whitelist character.

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it all. To the fact that Victoria Beach would not be a suitable head of staff is disappointing and I have a different opinion of course or I would not have made an application. Since I started playing in medical my goal has to reach head of staff with Victoria, She has worked her way up from intern to a capable surgeon with knowledge in other fields too. You say she supports the team and is a rising doctor which is what I hoped for, a head of staff needs to be supportive and I feel like Victoria is competent enough in her other fields, including surgery to make the next step up too the CMO. She has been in medical since I began playing and aged slowly, mentally and physically and at age 30 has finally earned the respect and even the admiration of her co-workers to feel confident enough to be a head of staff. I see what you mean with it going against her character as until recently she stayed in the background and never really took charge, but I feel this will just add the the character and her personality, I hope she will become a head one day all things considered. Once again, thank you for the feedback. :)
