LordQuailius
BYOND Key: LordQuailius Character Names: Mae-Taerri Querra-Tup, Nie-Tienni Marik-Tup, Dante Wulfe, Trinity Rader Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Pearl White Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yep. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: It would fit my idea of a Th'akh shaman perfectly. It stands out from the usual mold of a brute lizard man/woman and would have nice, healthy relationships and roleplay to follow it. Not to mention the backstory would make absolutely jackshit sense if it didn't have an Unathi background. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Neat slash mechanic and resistance to heat, short life spans, carnivores, limited color scheme, tail-thumping/rattling action, a thick sense of honor {and melee fighting}, and the whole nomadic suicidal thing is pretty neato. Character Name: Kujuli Na'Katosi Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Kujuli, from birth, was told that she had great potential. Her unusual albino status had her both praise and condemnation from her clan. Some saw her pearl white scales as a sign from Sk'akh, that she could embody the greatness of all three of the Sk'akh's aspects. Others saw her blood red eyes as a curse, a malicious omen that had harbored evil, vehement spirits rife with recent strife and rage. Regardless, her parents raised her like royalty, even for a female of her clan. They taught her how to farm, how to defend herself, and how to weave (as any proper female unathi should.) When she became an adult, Kujuli trained extensively to become a shaman by the clan's own female shaman, who saw Kujuli as a massive embodiment of strong-willed spirits, and that she could fulfill the responsibility of a shaman with great ease as a result. After many years of questionable herb consumption and spiritual connection, the clan's shaman approved Kujuli as being a shaman (or if there's some sort of ceremony/trial/whatever to become a shaman, that.) For the most part, Kujuli would mostly assist the main shaman with her shamanistic duties. However, things couldn't always last so well. The shaman of her clan had been recruited, by the government, to act as a shaman during wartime and had been dishonorably defeated in war. Kujuli, both devastated at the loss of her nearly-life-long mentor, and the stress of the government possibly enrolling her as well, decided that the only safe option was to leave Moghes altogether and continue her shamanistic ways. Whether she aids different communities on different planets, or helps with dealing with the stress of working on a (possibly deadly) research station, she hopes to continue the shaman legacy that she holds close to her heart. What do you like about this character? I love that it isn't the usual "CRUSH KILL DESTROY HONOR" unathi cutting people more than an emo in a ballpit full of razors. She has a deep backstory that could be related to or roleplayed with. It brings a new type of religion into the system as well, one that feels more tribalistic. Also, an albino. Super rad. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty good, but not the best. Notes: I wouldn't mind making a sand colored lawyer lizard named Reznak Lemonsnout, a carry over from past games as a lizard man, but that's a bit...iffy, currently. Also, humans would probably refer to her as either Kuju or Julie. Edited September 5, 2015 by Guest Link to comment
Guest Menown
https://gyazo.com/5cc80e6dc5be5f633e6c9ae4ba02e076 I was told by Jackboot, until it's possible mechanically, this isn't possible in the lore. Link to comment
LordQuailius
Well, shit. I thought people had told me that it would be fine...I could simply change the lore if push comes to shove to make a bright optimistic unathi character. Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
Well, shit. I thought people had told me that it would be fine...I could simply change the lore if push comes to shove to make a bright optimistic unathi character. Sorry for the delay. Now, you don't have to push for grand changes to the lore. If you can give me a good argument on why you feel your unathi can break the conventions that are standard to them, and still show that you understand the race, I can give you the whitelist on the benefit of doubt. I try to be very accommodating. As long as I can see you are genuinely interested in the race and can understand it, even when breaking conventions, I'd be delighted to see how you do it. But for now it would have to be a regular born Unathi, rather than an other-kin. The most I could see for a brain transplantation would be becoming an MMI in a shell with a unathi, well, shell. You wouldn't have the language or mechanics, but I suppose if someone can still do their job it wouldn't get them fired or prevent them from working on the Aurora. In positions acceptable for shell's to be in, anyway. Of course that would be under IPC whitelists, rather than a unathi whitelist. Link to comment
LordQuailius
I'll just edit it to a new character, no problem. I could probably make an IPC whitelist some other time for Trinity. Link to comment
