canon35 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Type Fleet/Tribe Founding/Settlement Date Unknown. Region of Space: Normally wherever vox are. Other Snapshot information: -4 (suggested) known tribes. -Rabidus clara vox, vox tribe of chemical-using raiders. -negotiatores pacificus, tribe of peaceful, pacifistic traders. -vox exilium, vox who are considered pariahs, must bring a item of great worth or use to become accepted again. -defensores classibus, vox who are tasked with defending the fleets. Long Description: Rabidis Clara Vox: Frenzied and feared, these vox are known for their violence within their ships and during raids. Often using chemical weapons such as sprayers, syringe guns, and grenades, they enjoy doing raids on whatever easy target comes their way, looking for an entertaining raid. They're known for extremely brutal tactics, such as torturing a hostage to get what they need, or using acidic weapons on armoured targets. Within Vox society, they're considered dangerous and risky to take onto raids, but have proven their worth as hired muscle. They wear suits coloured in bright blue, yellow, orange, purple, or red colour, often covering their skipjack in the same colouring. Negotiatores Paficius: A tribe of pacifistic vox who believe that violence is a simple waste of resources, and time, they're known as traders who deal in and out of the frontier, outer rim, and middle rim. Often respected amongst other traders they are secretive about their tradings and dealings and believe that a deal should be always honoured. Thanks to their material wealth, they are able to plate their suits in gold, silver, and bronze. They often hire other vox to work with them, mostly from the Vox Exilium tribes or the Rabidis Clara Vox tribes, for protection. They carry no weapons and cover their skipjack in shining silver. Vox Emilium: A vox who has committed a great crime, or feels great shame over his actions. They exclude themselves from regular vox, and live in their own small fleets who follow behind the larger vox ones. In order to return to their tribe, they must find a item of great use or worth (Such as a singulo generator, a e-weapon, a mech even.) to give to their tribe in hopes of being forgiven. These vox often use spike throwers and crossbows. In order to allow them to be easily marked, they wear armour covered in rusting spikes and use rusting skipjacks. Once the debt is paid back to their tribe, they are allowed to go back to their homefleet. Vox Emilium are ignored by many tribes, and only interact with them if the Negotiatores Paficius require guards for their trading ventures. Defensores Cassibus: Extremely well-armed, extremely dangerous vox. Made up of only the most proven fighters, to be a member of the Defensores Cassibus is a great honour among Vox. Rarely moving from the homefleets, this tribe is tasked with defending the vox ships which stay behind, and to defend the fleet from any outside forces. They are said to use advanced scavenged weapons, such as energy weaponry, force gloves, and even mechs. Their ships are often heavily armoured and large enough to contain numerous smaller craft. All tribes, even the Vox Emilium, pay respect to these elites as they are regarded as the glue which holds the vox fleets togather. However, the Defensores act arrogant and prideful towards the "lesser" tribes. No Defensores Cassibus tribesman has ever been seen away from a vox fleet. Unknown Tribes: Tribes are known to vary depending on fleet, and a very few have actually been identified and researched. A theory from captured vox points to possibly 20-50 unknown vox tribes, some likely minor, some possibly major.
Owen Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I think that this is a really cool idea and that the Vox lore should be expanded.
canon35 Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 I think that this is a really cool idea and that the Vox lore should be expanded. Yeah, that's why I made this application. Vox are one of the less fleshed out factions, and despite people playing them like derpy birds instead of actual raiders, I still think they're one of the better races.
Owen Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Yeah, that's why I made this application. Vox are one of the less fleshed out factions, and despite people playing them like derpy birds instead of actual raiders, I still think they're one of the better races. I agree with that. Do you think that players would be able to roleplay being a Vox from these different groups? Like one round the Vox can be Rabidis Clara Vox and go crazy with raiding the station while the next round can have the Vox Emilium which sound like the type of Vox that most people play. It would be cool if they could, but I still would be fine with just having this as background lore like something that one of the Vox mention during a Heist round.
Killerhurtz Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I love this. Moves the Vox from being "dem space raiders" to an almost Quarian-like species that isn't universally loathed. Adds some depth to the species (even though I've seen the gamemode played a grand total of once since I joined the Aurora) which I find is much appreciated. Hell - with things like this, it might even open the door to some OTHER possibilities. Anyhow - yeah I really do like this.

As I said on the merc vote thread at the suggestions threads, I had an idea that if this is accepted, I would suggest a station the vox would spawn at with 3 rooms filled with the gear of the 3 playable tribes, so that vox can be pacifistic traders with guards, or just full blown raiders. I wouldn't mind if others suggested vox tribes.
Killerhurtz Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Whether or not it's implemented mechanically on the server, this is now canon. Marking as processing until a Wiki page is made.
