Make Paper Forms Less Garbage

Paperwork is meant to be a coverer of ass and accessible. It's meant to be an archive and record, as well as providing means to do something special.

However, many forms are excessively obtuse or filled with ridiculous redundancies. The robotics construction form is a glaring example of this. It should not require so much running around, signing, and filling out for a single security robot. It's ridiculous. I get mad looking at the robotics paperwork and im not even a roboticist! If a paperwork is complicated no one is going to want to do it, which defeats its point. If it's accessible and quick to do, you have an actual reason to harp on people for not doing it.

Here are my suggestions contrasted against the originals that would replace the originals. I didn't want to go through the entire database so I've narrowed it down to forms I use/see most often.

Whats the actual suggestion here, all you have said is 'our paperwork is shit, here are six unrelated forms' .

I don't understand why scientific or genetic testing should require a head of staff authorisation.IMO, that's a contract between the subject and the scientist, a senior staff only needs to be involved if the subject tries to get the scientist arrested for it later or something.

Please read the OP before you post.

That is true. However, it's good for the RD to be aware of such things going on. In this version you just need the RD to stamp it. It's rather serious, being borgified.

hmm, i'd say the same for that one too actually.

Heads of Staff seem busy enough already. I definitely agree with command authorisation for building ED-209 bots, or durands, but things like testing and borgification i'd view as a more personal contract. Borgifying an assistant doesn't really have any practical effect on the station that they couldn't accomplish by just joining the game as a cyborg.

it sucks for everyone involved for someone to sit around the roboticist's office for half an hour, waiting on the RD to be free to sign a form so he can become a cyborg and be useful.

I like this improved robotics construction. Commisioner and Recieving employee was confusing and it literaly gave no purpose sometimes to have a person sign the both places.. since he was the one who commisioned and who will recieve it later. I/E Miners.

I try to play as accommodating as is reasonable when I play Command. My Head of Personnel, Houssam Jawdat, tries to do as much paperwork for employees as he can. In situations where no one will probably raise a stink, he also stamps and signs off on these things if the department in question has no head of staff. We could add all sorts of clauses and specifications and addendums to let you go to Head after Head after Head, but in the end it's ultimately up to the command player in question to decide how he wants to spend his time, and if he wants to stamp off on it.
