Past Experiences/Knowledge: Not much but I've been doing this roleplay shit for about 5 years. I also really like robots and will be sure to take IPCs in an interesting direction. Examples of Past Work: I wrote half of the Lifeweb wiki in English, if that matters. I also sent Hivefleetchicken (current head of frontier lore, I am told) 4 colony ideas. He liked them. Ask him for them because I don't have those on hand. I wrote a short story some people liked and I've been doing this kind of thing for about 5 years. Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): Skype. Additional Comments: Hold on there, eager beaver. I know you're ready to shout out "Botanist you are troll! this app was for troll!" One, I'm not entirely sure how I can be a mythological creature. Two, me and some dudes (namely Jackboot quite recently and Tishina not so recently) talked it over. This isn't trolling. You don't know trolling and you never will.

I know Botanist says this isn't trolling, but beside examples of past work, everything in this app seems like they're trying to make a joke. Plus, it's Botanist, they can't be trusted to even make a serious app, or even reply seriously with their last one, can they really be trusted to be a public face of our staff, or be trusted as staff to seriously commit to this?

The application and talks with Botanist about his desire for this position have done nothing to make me believe this is trolling. Please bring up relevant examples if you have criticisms on the application, I can't do anything with vague or wholesale condemnations.

Can you pretty please say things to assure me, a member of the audience, that everything will be okay if you're added to the team and that you're "safe"? This can come in many forms. These include, but are not limited to: Witty rebuttals, sincere dialogue, multi-layered quotes, complex fanfictions, prose, a dating-site style rundown of your likes/dislikes/hobbies with bonus points for SS13/lore jokes, or even your own honest thoughts and opinions on whatever. Show the camera some passion, baby! (Alternatively, take it as an interview question. "Why should we hire you?")

It's not hard to see that those two things could meet and create something cool to look at here. I'm safe because, deep down, I'm a pretty chill person - irregardless of what a man who requests that you shake with him and his cronies think. (DISCLAIMER: Using the above statement as proof that I am a vicious troll out to ruin Aurora will make me laugh really, really hard at you.)

Just asking because I'm genuinely curious but haven't had the time to actually go digging for things if the links are readily available; Plus, I think being able to actually see the examples of past work is helpful in giving an opinion on the application.

Guest Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 When the app specifically asks you to point at examples of past work, it's kind of implied that people shouldn't be forced to search for them. That aside, I've had some experience talking to Botanist. He has displayed good knowledge of lore and a creative streak. However, he tends to get very... passionate about lore. That is either a good or a bad thing depending on perspective and the fact is especially important to you if your name is Jackboot. Headbutting over differences of opinion are something I assume is going to happen.

I've gone over your ideas and prior work and I'm willing to give you a shot. I especially like that you want to build on what Jackfractual left us.
