FluffyBirb
Prosthesis can come in many shapes and sizes, ranging by brand. Right now they are purely ascetic and by preference, though I think it could change. IPC/Prosthesis do not always need to be normalized. Let us say a construction engineer lost their arm. Why not give them an enhanced arm to fit the task? Another example would be that NanoTrasen just signed a contract with a recently freed IPC, who specialized in security operations. Why not provide a chassis that, while heavy and moves much slower, though is much more resistant to physical damages. What I am proposing is, along with the basic coding/stats of prosthesis/chassis, more specialized parts to allow for customization. Now, to keep them balanced, each part would come with it's buffs and debuffs. I believe these could be used for every race, not only IPC, though IPC would have their own set (Upper, lower, head) that could not be used by other races. Here are the sets I am proposing, All races: Overclocked Servo's (Speed) Legs: Buffs: Running speed will be boosted, just below Tajaran speed. Debuffs: Health pool of legs lowered, higher rate of hunger/charge consumption, higher rate of malfunction when damaged. Arms: Buffs: Item throw range enlarged, or hit/use rate increased (For example, surgery processes go faster) though damage from brute attacks lowered. Debuffs: Health pool of arms lowered, higher rate of malfunction when damaged. Heavy-Plating (Tank) Legs: Buffs: Increased resistance to brute damage, raised health pool. Debuffs: Increased weight (Slight increase to knock down time, lowered speed that compounds on the number of parts), after damage threshold reached plating breaks and buff is lost until repairs are given. Arms: Buffs: Increased resistance to brute damage, raised health pool. Debuffs: Increased weight (Slight increase to knock down time, lowered speed that compounds on number of parts), after damage threshold reached plating breaks and buff is lost until repairs are given. Refractive-Plating (High-tech Tank) Arms: Buffs: Increased resistance to laser(burn?) damage, slightly lowered health pool. Debuffs: Slight increase to brute damage, after damage threshold is met resistance is lost until repairs are met. (Perhaps a glass shard is dropped and glass is needed to fix?) Legs: Buffs: Increased resistance to laser(burn?) damage, slightly lowered health pool. Debuffs: Slight increase to brute damage, after damage threshold is met resistance is lost until repairs are met. (Glass idea may apply.) Faraday-Shielding (EMP resistance) Arms: Buffs: Resistance to EMP (Lowered chance of limb going *pop* one/two times, and instead going to malfunctioning). Debuffs: Slight increase to burn/brute damage, slightly lowered health pool. Legs: Buffs: Resistance to EMP (Lowered chance of limb going *pop* one/two times, and instead going to malfunctioning). Debuffs: Slight increase to burn/brute damage, slightly lowered health pool. IPC/Shell only variants: Light-Sensitive Augmentation (Low level night vision) Head: Buffs: Low level night vision, (Maybe equal to PDA light range?) Debuffs: IPC become vulnerable to flash, which can be seen from examination. Heavy Plating (Tank) Head: Buffs: Increased resistance to brute damage, raised health pool. Debuffs: Increased weight (Slight increase to knock down time, lowered speed that compounds on the number of parts), after damage threshold reached plating breaks and buff is lost until repairs are given. Upper body: Buffs: Increased resistance to brute damage, raised health pool. Faraday Shielding (EMP resistance) Head: Buffs: Resistance to damage from EMP (Instead of ripping open, it instead takes damage and gives a concussion-like effect) Debuffs: Slight increase to burn/brute damage, slightly lowered health pool. Upper body: Buffs: Protects all other limbs from EMP (Lowers other limbs chance of going pop) Debuffs: Slight increase to burn/brute damage, slightly lowered health pool. Lower body: Buffs: Protects all other limbs from EMP (Lowers other limbs chance of going pop) Debuffs: Slight increase to burn/brute damage, slightly lowered health pool. This is just an idea I had, I would love feedback on new ideas for what parts could do, as well as what you think on these! (These could probably be cut/modified to balance better as well) I was thinking that if this was added, you could stick with a basic chassis, or use these to better show/gear a character to a job or task, as well as assist with their back story! Maybe even have some parts that are primarily debuffs to spawn with, to create RP from get-go! ~FluffyBirb Link to comment
