Probably a year. But the server had another name then. Recently i have been playing... for 4 or 5 months

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?:

Im an experienced player who wants to take another roles like CMO, i think im a good a leader and i can contribute with the good-functioning of the Aurora's station

Why did you come to Aurora?:

I have been trying lots of servers. The most part of then, had a poor level of roleplay. When i found this one, i found my home on SS13

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?:

Yes. Specially the CMO. I have been playing that role on paradise station with good results.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:

Roleplay its a kind of game where the players take the role of another person, a character. The player must act and think like his character, even if its against the interest of the character and the player. (For example, fix an IPC when you are a doctor)

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:

For Teaching people. If you have an novice in the medical Crew. You can suggest and guide him with the OOC or LOOC Channel. "LOOC: Hey Matilda, if you wanna know about chemicals, you can check the wiki or ask chemist to teach you"

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:

Whitelisted player must be an example of good-acting to the rest of members. Avoiding meta-game, teaching people and help when they can... being a Whitelisted people its not only a privilege, its a duty too. You must help and correct the bad manners everytime you can.

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):

Tomas Cardiel born in a highborn family in Sep 04, 2428. He had everything a child could wish: Toys, food, love... He really had a good life. When he was 12, his mother died of a Disease. That moment marked Tomas life forever. He started to study medicine, psychology, chemistry, virology... All type of knowledge that could help him to help people. When he was 18, he worked for first time in a small clinic. His sympathy helped him to have a good relationship with all the patients. With the time, Tomas get enough experience to try the next step.

He received a job offer in the NSS AURORA. That was a good offer. Work with important doctors and scientists... Sounds like a dream to him. Without thinking twice, he accepted. His first job consisted to assist the medical crew. Carrying chemicals, turning the machines on... He was a little dissapointed at the start. But after a few weeks, the crew assigned him some responsibilities, and then, he was appreciated and observed. At the age of 27, Tomas was an excelent surgeon without an only mistake. On 2456. The NSS aurora received an attack from mercenaries. The CMO was killed in combat an Tomas tried to manage the situation in the department with success. All the injured were saved thanks for the good work of the entire team.

What do you like about this character?:

Tomas its a kind person. Playing as him makes me so confortable and i think, people its satisfaced speaking with him. He is really interested in people's problems and that fact. Creates emotional and deep situations.

What do you dislike about this character?:

Bothers me that i cant be angry when i see some behaviors. But my characters its a calm and kind person, so i must to act like that even if im angry.

What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?:

Tomas its a Calm and experienced person. have a good observation of the situation and know how to say what the deparments needs make him a good candidate.

He its a little meticulous with Paperwork. So he its not going to tollerate the bad habits. All must be clearly notified and proceeded

I have been playing role games for years. I enjoy more of being an imperfect person than a know-all who its invencible and can do everything fine.

I have seen Tomas Cardiel in-game. I'm not entirely sure what to make of him, as I haven't had a lot of interaction with him.

I feel that all of these answers are a bit short. The whitelist specifies that you must give in-depth responses to the questions, and you fall just short of 50 words per answer.

To clarify:

• You've summarised roleplay relatively well, but you haven't thoroughly explained what it should be about. A few ideas to cover would be metagaming, how it creates interaction between the crew, and how a character might be different from you, yourself, as a player.
• You've given a very limited description of what the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is. Yes, you do help out new players, but there are also other responsibilities such as ensuring that your department is properly running for the sake of other player's enjoyment.
• Again, you've only answered the first half ot the question. Yes, whitelisted players do have to serve as a role model for both roleplay and department performance, and OOC activity such as metagaming, but you haven't addressed how you'll strive to uphold those ideas.

You do reasonably okay with this backstory. It starts off well explaining how Tomas develops an interest in medical sciences, and explores the basics of medicine, psychology, chemistry, and virology. However, it takes a small wrong turn (for me) when he is elevated from the status of clinic worker to advanced space station medical assistant. Why did Nanotrasen offer him the job? I believe it'd be more fitting for him to apply for it, rather than having been actively searched for considering his still-basic understanding of medicine from working at a clinic. Anyway, he gets assigned basic responsibilities, and he abruptly turns into a surgeon without an indication in a shift of time. A few weeks is hardly enough to cover the field of surgery. How many years did he spend in the operating theatres observing how the medical staff conducted their surgery? Why would a novice such as himself never perform a mistake in their career as a surgeon?

The backstory then goes on to explain that the station is attacked, and the Chief Medical Officer was killed. I'm not too sure if any of the antagonist events that happen in previous rounds are canon, but I'll roll with it until there's some confirmation of it otherwise. He gains the temporary rank of Interrim CMO, but why him? Why not somebody else who was less of a novice to the field of medicine? He proves himself a fairly competent manager of the medical department, and saves all the injured. What of the dead? Were they, too, recovered?

Aside from that, my final complaint would be the fact that your character's age is dead on 30. That's the minimum, and if you look at any high ranking positions in any field, you'll find that most people are a fair bit older than that, such as in the early 40s to late 50s, with some exceptions.

These all feel a bit short to me, and your points could be expanded on. He's kind, but how kind? Provide an example. He's patient, but does this lead to him being taken advantage of? He's experienced, yet only spent roughly 12 years in the medical field, or around one third of a medical course in university.

I feel that you show this somewhat in your answers, but you can't seem to express it very clearly. You do know how to roleplay, but the limitations are in your ability to translate what you feel in your native language, to English.
