Ian The Corgi
BYOND Key: Ian The Corgi Character Names: Alywine Christiandottir, Lyall Donne, MOSSY, Lavanya Wilson. Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Zo'Ra Bound Worker Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Twice now. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: To have more opportunities in space station thirteen, as a vaurca I would have more characters to play as with extra backstory options, I also like the vaurca as a species far more than catbeasts or the rest and would like to play as them, I think I could fill the position of being a bound vaurca that no other vaurca seems to have taken, I could help expand the player base of the vaurca. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Roleplaying the Vaurca requires hive mind thought, wherein you do not acknowledge your life having significant value other than service to the hive, Vaurca also have many in game bonuses and drawbacks which can make them mechanically quite different as well as the roleplay. And as the bound, my character wouldn't have any self-drive so would be doing jobs very focused. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Torth Zo'Ra Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Ka'Akaix'Torth does not know when they were born, they know they have been in VR for many years, then... it has been nearly 3 years since they left VR, yet as if they were in the VR only yesterday, Torth has been working in the bowels of the ship for most of the time outside VR, theres few unbound positions down here, so one-on-one conversation is hard to come by, alas, such is the life of the worker caste. 6 months later Torth has arrived at Biesel. Torth is moved out of the Titan Prime in a large swarm, they dont know where exactly they are headed, but it seems the hive wills it. It's a long walk to the docks, along the way they peak above the crowd at some points and see many that dont seem to be walking with them, Alot of bound seem to be walking, yet Torth knows over the hivemind that there is many more Unbound making the trip than might be expected, maybe the ship has arrived. The dock isnt far now, it must be where all that noise is coming from. Several bound are effeciently directing the flow of traffic, though everyone already knows where to go. They are packed tight into a shuttle, and the entrance seals everyone in, the vessel starts shaking as the engines engage. The flight is loud, even the bound are talking, explaining what they know to the unbound, most likely. It wasn't too long before they were being moved around by things that weren't.. Vaurca. 3 days later Torth has been settled into a refugee camp in Biesel, Their job is a simple one, they have been put in charge of keeping the machinery of the settlement running, the work isnt hard as the settlement is small, The camp has 12 vaurcae, 4 unbound, 6 bound, 2 K'lax Bound. The bound here all sleep in one building, but the 4 unbound share 2 buildings between them. The bound work around the clock, and the unbound mostly just manage the bound, they don't seem to have any work ethic. Maybe more Vaurcae will join the settlement soon. 1 month later Torth wakes up, this is the time, they walk outside and join a large crowd. The second they entered the group, the gathering began to walk along, following some human in armour. the group walks about a mile before they reach a large building, it stands out among the handbuilt shelters. as they go inside the building they are instructed towards large.. portals.. they see other Vaurcae walking into these large structures and disappearing, they reflect on their experience, and their growing settlement. Torth falls through the gateway, and follows the line of unbound that have formed, disguising their shock from the gateway. At the end of the line, the Vaurcae are split between 3 seperate rooms, Vaurcae go into the rooms, but dont seem to come out of them. Torth enters the second nearest one. NT Interviewer: "Hello, you've been selected by your hive to work at one of our research stations?" Ka'Akaix'Torth Zo'Ra: "Yez" NT Interviewer: "Could I get your name please" Ka'Akaix'Torth Zo'Ra: "Number iz Torthz" NT Interviewer: "And what position are you applying for?" Ka'Akaix'Torth Zo'Ra: "Hive tellz me Lab Azziztant" NT Interviewer: "Alright, that will be all, do you have any questions?" Ka'Akaix'Torth Zo'Ra: "No" The Interviewer slides a ticket with a 8 digit number printed on it towards the Vaurca NT Interviewer: "Take this to the ID issuer just down this hallway on the right" The Interviewer presses a button on his desk, and a door opens. The Interviewer leans into an intercom and shouts "NEXT" in a gruff voice. What do you like about this character? I like that the character cares about their settlement, and has a genuine work ethic. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8/10 Notes: I have applied before and been denied, +1s still stand. Edited September 14, 2016 by Guest Link to comment

Somewhere around another great light. How will they see with all that light? 6 months later Torth has arrived at Biesel, aboard a great hiveship, then is strictly transferred to a smaller ship travelling to Tau Ceti. Torth arrives in an office, after being directed around a large station NT Interviewer: "Hello, you've been selected by your hive to work at one of our research stations?" Ka'Akaix'Torth Zo'Ra: "Yez" NT Interviewer: "Could I get your name please" Ka'Akaix'Torth Zo'Ra: "Number iz Torthz" NT Interviewer: "And what position are you applying for?" I dont like the character, but i liked writing the backstory, gives me good practice for writing other backstories. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8/10 Notes: I have applied before and been denied, +1s still stand. This application is improved greatly from the previous attempt, however it is still very shallow. The entire purpose of restricting applications to be told from the perspective of Unbound is to attempt to foster a deeper understanding of the lore. I would advise taking a good look at the wiki page and analyzing it, and then using it to deepen an aspect of this backstory. One possible idea is a more understanding description of how "Torth" is adapting to the new world. Link to comment
