NoahKirchner
BYOND key: NoahKirchner Character names: Thomas McGillan Jackson Wells Gamma (AI) Omnicron (Borg) Kyler Benford Eric Kimple Hudson Edwards Victor Andreev Holden Richards Lief Digson Roman Powers Gordon Garratt Cade Mossen Adam Harding Seven Calamus HRD-JI-2032 Antioch Hill How long have you been playing on Aurora?: It's been six months I believe since I started, but it's been on and off since then. In practice, probably about two months of consistent playtime/on server. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I see a surprising lack of headstaff and not too much department coordination. I normally only see a Captain and HoS, occasionally an HoP but hardly ever any IAA or CMOs, and hopefully I can help with that. Why did you come to Aurora?: I hadn't played a HRP server prior and was curious about what it was like. I heard bad things but was still curious, and so I (very nervous about getting banned) decided to play a few rounds and discovered that I really like roleplay and this server was the best fit. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yup, I've read them all a fair bit just because I like to read the wiki. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay should be about making an interesting, fun and (sorta) believable story for all involved. Instead of playing the game to win, to complete your objective by any means necessary regardless of how it effects the other players, when roleplaying, you should strive to make an interesting scenario. On that same note, you should also have dangerous conflict, and if the situation calls for it, removing another player from the round should not be instantly dismissed because it would not be their optimal round. (Still not good to remove people permanently tho D:) What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Their purpose is to drive roleplay. They have all of the tools to do so at their disposal, and it is up to them to know how to properly use them to make an interesting story. They could drive roleplay by really interacting with their subordinates, organizing their department into working at maximum efficiency like a well oiled machine. They also drive roleplay by being the people who choose how to deal with antagonists, they are a very big part of conflict and they are responsible for keeping the game fun for both parties involved. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: OOCly, whitelisted players should strive to make the game better overall. Be it through simply increasing the quality of roleplay ingame, or by helping out new players in looc with mechanics that they don't understand. I would strive to uphold them by doing my best to include as many people as I can in roleplay and by doing my best to make the server better through both OOC help to new players and by using the mechanics at my disposal to make things play out as a better story. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Holden Richards Character age: 35 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Holden Matthew Richards was born March 18th 2424 on Earth to Jonathan and Mary Richards. He had a relatively normal upbringing, his parents both bringing in enough income to live comfortably. From a very young age, Richards became obsessed with geology and carried this interest with him all the way up through his teenage years. He had originally wanted to become a prospector, but as University neared, he decided a more business related field would likely result in a better life. Not long after he graduated high school, Richards left Earth and moved to Biesel. Once in Biesel, he enrolled in the University of Mendell and worked a number of odd retail jobs around District 12. After graduating from the University of Mendell with a Bachelors in Business Managment, Holden began to look for more sustainable work. Having trouble finding a well paying job, he decided to fall back on his knowledge and love of rocks and signed up to be a shaft miner with Nanotrasen. He started to work his way up the employment ladder after many years as a shaft miner and applied for a position as quartermaster. Once he had taken the Nanotrasen Introduction to Management course and with the help of his degree, the application was accepted and he had been promoted to quartermaster aboard the NSS Exodus. His ambitions were hindered, though, when the woman that he had recently married left him for another man, annoyed at the long hours he was working on station. Bitter but not defeated, he began to work towards another promotion, hoping to work his way up to be a Head of Personnel. Following a stint as an assistant to a Head of Personnel, Richards submitted another application in hopes of promotion, and has yet to hear back. What do you like about this character?: He's very ambitious and more of a blue collar worker than a bureaucrat. He's a bit more down to earth and less formal than a lot of other characters but still follows protocol to the letter in hopes to improve his position. What do you dislike about this character?: If you mean about what I've defined him as, I feel like the backstory could be flushed out a tad more. If you mean about his personality, he's bitter from his divorce and generally distrusting. He's been burned before and he's really only out for himself anymore. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: He follows protocol to the letter in hopes to improve, has been recommended by an HoP and meets the criteria. He does his job well enough and has all of his t's crossed and i's dotted. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: This question is sort of tough to answer. I think to me, my roleplay seems alright, I'm at least average, but it's difficult to judge yourself on something that you're doing, I'm inherently biased. Extra notes: Nop. Retro
+1 I have known Noah for a Long time, he is a very great RPer and should be on the whitelist. He always makes around fun, and at the same makes roleplay very interesting. Link to comment
NoahKirchner
Bad timing perhaps. IRL bsns has been keeping me from playing as much as I'd like to, so I haven't been in game to advertise (or really play much) in these past few days. Link to comment
