Why do you wish to play this specific race: I basically want to be what Robocop would've been if he didn't have a human brain and only has his corporation's ideals and interests in mind. If you watched Robocop you would know there is a mega-corporation (Omni-Corp) that buys out and privatizes the police force of Detroit. Alex Murphy is turned into Robocop only as a means to allow the government to legalize a fully mechanized police force so Omni-Corp would basically own the entirety of America's police force. Of course Alex fights against his oppressors and Omni-Corp comes crashing down. Now imagine that but reverse

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: As an IPC, you are not only a robot, but a sentient one. However, instead of acting like a cyborg which has laws it must obey and is a slave to it's AI, the IPC model have full free will and can pursue any career choice as it pleases. However, it is most certainly not human and although it has emotions, it cannot really develop accents unless it was programmed or has a different speech box. Also the specific IPC shell I'm applying for is built for security and engineering and should preform such jobs as it would be rare for it to preform other jobs unlike humans who although specialize in one job (most of the time) is not born to just do that task and can deviate as such.

Character Name: S.L.E.D (Security and Law Enforcement Droid)

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

After the whole robot rights fiasco on Mars, S.L.E.D was created with a specific goal in mind, to patch up relations with Hephaestus Industries and Nanotrasen. H Ind built only one model, which was specifically crafted for security and forensic purposes. During his showcase at Mars, it's old prototype model was shown to have extreme durability and strength like any other Ind-Frame, however this model was specialized in leadership and free will to "Show that robots can be powerful leaders too" . After his creation at Hephaestus Industries, he was first tasked by guarding a Nanotrasen cargo ship from space pirates as it made it's way from a mining colony on Mars and was on it's way to Tau Ceti as a test run to see if he was ready to be let out into the world and to improve relations with Nanotransen and Hephaestus Industries.

He was assigned a group of ten other industrial frames and led the robotic security department alongside the human security who didn't trust robotics division the slightest. Secretly before he went onboard, H Ind. (Hephaestus Industries) had sent him information on his true goal on the ship, to protect a VIP on ship. It was an H Ind. scientist who was from the mining colony. According to his mission objectives the scientist had discovered a rich vein of valuable resources while excavating on a prospecting mission. The scientist was told to keep silent on the fact and to deliver the coordinates orally in person to H Ind. Tau Ceti HQ to avoid Nanotrasen or any other entity from intercepting the transmission and endangering their public image. H Ind. also hid an encrypted file that said if the scientist tells anyone of these facts, you are to eliminate them and the scientist if necessary.

Of course the scientist ends up getting kidnapped in a space pirate attack and S.L.E.D tries to find a way to get the VIP back. So after pleading with the captain to turn the ship around to tail the pirates, the captain denies his request and he is left with no other choice but to revolt against the human crew with the robots and commandeer the ship. After catching up with the heavily damaged pirate ship, he finds out that the scientist planned this out and the pirates were actually Nanotrasen PMCs who were tipped off by the scientist weeks ago in exchange for a lot of money. So after S.L.E.D and the crew fight with the PMCs, the scientist is thus killed by S.L.E.D and the incident is covered up. So S.L.E.D is transferred to the NSS Aurora and although he cooperates with local security, he still has the company's interests in mind

What do you like about this character? The fact that even though he has a mind of his own and free will, he still would rather serve under his creators and the company rather than rebel like most Sci-Fi books and movies would play out, it's a nice twist to the normal "Rebel against the system" cliche in most Sci-Fi literature that involve robots
