BYOND key: Inverted_Rectum

Character names: Haruspex, Kamerlingh, Schnuffler, Mr. Cups, others I barely use.

How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Somewhere around 4 months.

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I notice a lot of rounds in which some departments are missing their heads, this generally seems to throw a wrench in a lot of people's plans.Further more, heads get to wear fancy suits and make decisions.I'd like to do that.

Why did you come to Aurora?: I like the blend of action and roleplay this place has, and the community.

Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes.

Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is acting as something you're not to achieve a state of "Fun".The definition is already in the name. You're playing a role, to have fun. Now, in a game like SS13 roleplay isn't only about you, roleplay should be fun for everyone involved.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Being robust and making sure your department and the station runs fine, filling in for a lack of personnel.Generally being helpful around your department.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Not being horribly incompetent, be it in RP, or by being unrobust, and interacting with their department properly.I'd strive to uphold these responsibilities by well, not being incompetent.

Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions.

Character name: Haruspex

Character age: 32

Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Haruspex was manufactured on the NSS Canes Venatici as a medical android. It spent the majority of its time in space, providing medical care in Nanotrasen's many Tau Ceti based space stations, and doing what it could to read with its mishapen android limbs during whatever free time it found.During this period it picked up odd mannerisms and a serious attachment to its purpose.Feeling limited by the lawset imposed on it and by its inability to perform medicine as well as his human peers, Haruspex quickly purchased its freedom after 20 years of service to Nanotrasen only to continue it as what it considers a "Free man" this time.

Haruspex is a workaholic, he is immensely devoted to the medical profession, considering it a sacred religious rank. This devotion, his usual Isolation from society and his interest in irrelevant knowledge have made Haruspex generally ignorant of most things outside its profession and philosophy. He has only the most basic grasp on how currency works, and general troubles socializing with most inhabitants of Mendell. While he is extensively educated on the human anathomy, he has little to no idea how his own works, and is completely uneducated in all things mechanical.

Now, he sets his eyes on the title of Chief Medical officer, driven forward by religious fervor.

What do you like about this character?: It is superstitious.I believe the Station is seriously lacking in characters who are superstitious, most inhabitants of Aurora rely on logic and cold hard facts and yell for security to manhandle the chaplain once he starts preaching, I wanted to introduce some variety using Haruspex.

What do you dislike about this character?: It is loud, It is preachy, and It can be annoying.

Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff? (Please note that Head characters must be over 30, unless given special clearance): Is it fit to be a Chief Medical Officer?Yes, I believe it is.Is it fit to be any other head? No.

Why?: Haruspex is a medic. It was created to be a medic, and went on being a medic for its entire life, before and after it bought its freedom.Haruspex has entirely devoted its existance to medicine, thus I'd say that it'd become a pretty damn good Chief Medical Officer.Due to this "Specialization", Haruspex would do incredibly bad as anything which isn't medicine related.

Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I can say I have improved since I first came here, i'd rate myself as being pretty good.

Extra notes: Apparently Baystation's IPC lore forbids them from becoming Heads.Since Baystation officially removed them as a race and Aurora doesn't use Baystation lore, I assume that won't be a problem, right?

riiiiight, guys?
