Why do you wish to play this specific race:

I mostly am drawn towards the ultra traditionalist and Feudalistic society that Unathi have and think it would give me the chance for a lot of interesting role play opportunities considering how drastically different their values and beliefs are compared to to the other species. Also the mechanical differences of Unathi are appealing to me. Other than that I want to be able to play a race of giant humanoid lizards that use ramming as their main naval tactic.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

Unathi are less free form in how they can be roleplayed compared to Humans. Unathi almost all have grown up in a traditional setting, Men own almost all of the power and women are discouraged from doing most things other than looking after the children and the house. Theres alot of things that are part of Unathi culture that effect roleplay with other Unathi, such as women not being allowed to associate with Guwans and only addressing another Unathi by their last name under almost all circumstances. The Honor system means that your actions reflect on your clan and doing something wrong could lead to it being dishonored, meaning your actions have a lot more impact than a humans would

Character Name: Kars'sa Kaareth

Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs

Born 2419 in a small village north east of the Izweski City of Skalama the youngest of two sons, Kars'sa from a young age always wanted to be a warrior like his father and bring prosperity to his clan. While too poor to receive a proper education other than what his mother could teach him, he in addition to this he received training from his father who also raised him Sk'akh. When Kars'sa first found out about the first contact with humans, he was fascinated by the thought of space travel and wished to someday be able to experience it despite it being such a strange concept to him

When the contact war broke out in 2437with Kars'sa at age 18 where he had to leave his wife and newborn daughter as he found himself levied by his Clan lord to serve the Hemogeny with his brother. A year into the conflict holding back coalition forces, his brother took a direct hit from a artillery shell, destroying his Battle Rig, injuring him greatly and taking him out of the rest of the War recovering. After the confusion of that directly followed the Nuclear exchange, Kars'sa was separated from his levy and made way towards his village. Kars'sa was devastated to find no signs of life in his former hometown; all of his hope and chance at achieving his dreams, gone. His Wife, child and parent's spirits taken from him to join The Great Spirit. Giving his family a Sk'akh Burial the best he could with the lack of a priest and the little time he had before he too got radiation poisoning. With his almost entire clan could only be presumed dead and his brothers whereabouts unknown, he abandoned his Levy and fled to Ourea via a human vessel a few months later. In 2445 he was contacted by Nanotrasen recruiter which due to his military background offered him a cadet ship. In the present day, he has been given a transfer to the NSS Aurora working in the Internal security department, where he is attempting to regain what little of his honor as a Warrior and Unathi he has left in him.

What do you like about this character?

His childhood was relatively simple however hard due to his families social status. His adulthood from the start was completely ruined by the contact war, everything he loved was taken from him. He now tries to serve NT attempting to form a new life. It is likely he will eventually be declared a guwan

How would you rate your role-playing ability?

7/10-I am okay at it and I am improving but I am still new to roleplaying and ss13, only started playing 2 years ago.

Hello!

Despite the lack of feedback your application shows a good grasp of the Unathi species. It's very refreshing that despite the tragedy of his losses in the war he is still attempting to make a life for himself and move beyond the darkness. Kaareth seems like a good traditional Unathi and his story can still turn out to be an optimistic one. If he is a healthy adult male who still behaves in an honorable way then I can't see a reason why he would be declared a Guwan.
