Jakers457 Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Now isn't going to be a well formatted, extensive suggestions filled with bullet points and the like but it's an idea that struck me at a most inconvenient time, at work, so right now I'm desperate grasping the fragments from the entropy of memory, or whatever. The problem with genetics is that it had a cool concept but, like with many features, was built as a meme. A way to create silliness in a round, we've got good stories and bad stories from it while are just damn well resentful of it. What if we were tone down it's goofs and turn up it's utility. Allow genetics to be used for more medical purposes, aswell as studying ancient xenological DNA dug up from the asteroid to see what life you could garner from it or at least splice it with an existing species with varying levels of success. Medical wise, I've seen protohumans used as test subjects to explore the effects of brain trauma and how to match what's coming up on the scanner with the symptoms presented (I know we have a wiki, but r-r-roleplay.) We could implement, if not already, chances for limb or organ rejection with genetics allowing a solution to minimise the risks. There's a good number of avenues to take that provide far more than simply ripping the lab equipment out and throwing it down disposals like an angry mob. Obviously I'm not a coder, but if I can give a spark of inspiration to allow for more medical sciences, then at least I've done one small thing.
