The "Old" Space suit looked like a emergency softsuit, just in it's palette. The actual space suit has a breastplate in a darker grey and hard plates.

The new spacesuits have more hardsuit like sprites, with a chest plate. Anyways, they should be able to hold an oxygen tank in them.

"Space Suit" NOT sotfsuits or emergency suits should be able to hold an oxygen tank just like a hardsuit in the exosuit storage area. Yes, that's it.

There's a reason why Gabriel tried so hard on that behalf, and it is because of Yoiko's personality and backstory. Yoiko was deeply stuck, and Gabriel being pushy with Karimi/Yoiko relationship was part of the plan to make him move, at least from my part :E
