I've jumped around a bit but West has been almost entirely medical, sometimes has played security but I've since made a character specifically for security who's background and such I'm working on fleshing out. As far as me as a player? Medical and security are usually the most active and interesting for me while engineering is also something I dabble with. I also enjoy synthetics a lot. You may have seen my character M.O.N.T.A.N.A. or H.A.N. the AI

Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I love to play head positions and feel confident enough in my ability to do them well. Why did you come to Aurora?: Used to be Hypatia exclusively but when they shut down I came here because the admins pay attention and aren't admindouches and the roleplay quality is very good on the server. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes, I am quite familiar with the entirety of the wiki (except for research) Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Having fun with other players and acting out sci-fi or fantasy scenarios based on the personality a player has chosen. It is important that a player know the rules and customs of the platform on which they are roleplaying. Failure to know this information can lead to some very frustrating situations and ruining the game experience for someone else. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To keep tabs on the subordinates in his/her department, and to make sure the crew remains intact to the best of their abilities. OOC this can show as teaching a player something about how the game works, what is expected of them while on the server, etc. Again, the most important fact of being in a head position, IC or OOC is realizing you are at least partially responsible for making sure everyone has a good game experience. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Mainly they are expected to always follow the rules of the station to a tee and need to be able to be counted on not to be shit-rp'ers, or otherwise incompetent. Due to this it would be very import to me to consistently make sure I have up to date information about the game and all rolls. I am aware that doing the right thing for the purpose of upholding standards is more important than what my character may want at any given moment. Character name: Dan West Character age: 34 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Dan West was raised on New Gibson in the Tau Ceti system. His farther was killed by mercenaries and so he was raised by his mother who worked in a cyborg manufacturing plant on the planet. When he graduated highschool he entered into the Vey-Med young MD program where he spent the next 10 years learning medicine from the best minds Vey-Med has to offer. Since completing that program he has worked hard to gain experience working in space and has been stationed on 4 station owned by CC in order to prepare him for his time on board the NSS Exodus, which is where Mr. West plans to spend his time for the foreseeable future. Personality wise, he tends to be a very agreeable individual. Always polite and cordial. Will be forceful with any working under him if needed, but he usually gets what he wants through calm and direct conversation. Spends off time in the chapel, though he is not religious, it is often the most peaceful place on the station. He does smoke which is strange for a doctor but he has long since decided it's only OTHER peoples lives which he cares to save. He struggles with feelings of self hatred stemming from an incident in which at the age of 23 he attempted to find and destroy his fathers killers with his best friend Mr. Sacarian. Mr. Sarcarian was captured and West was forced to watch his execution. He has since sworn to never bring another soul into his dark past. What do you like about this character?: I like that he tends to bring out the best in people due to his cordial personality and willingness to compromise. It usually ends up with me making some good friends by the end of a shift. What do you dislike about this character?: On the flip side of the same token he does run in to situations where some of the crew challenges him or otherwise disregards him as a leader. He deals with them accordingly. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: He has 14 years of medical experience and full comprehension of the medical department, as well as a passion for medicine and leadership. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Between SS13, tabletop RPGs, and other roleplay communities? Very good. 1-10? In GMT: 6:30pm to the early hours of the morning, sometimes in the morning but usually play over night. Do you have any experience with Moderating? Or similar. I have been a moderator/admin on a few forums for other games, and was a mod on Hypatia station for a very brief time before they shut down. Why do you want to be a Duty Officer? I love the bureaucracy of the game, and am fully confident in my abilities to handle cases professionally. Also seems like it would be good fun. How well can you handle stress? As far as it applies to moderating and SS13, very well. What does it mean to be a Duty Officer? To deal with official complaints, monitor the forums for said complaints, deal with them in a respectful but firm (if needed) way. How active on the forums and server are you? Don't post a lot on the forums but check them every day and I'm on the server nearly every day as well Anything else to add? Feel free to hit me up in server if you have any questions.
