Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.
Why do you wish to play this specific race:
The main draw is likely one of the richest histories of any species in the Spur, maybe except the Vaurca. The modern age Skrell also provides an interesting dynamic in terms of its near total hate towards synthetic lifeforms, and a near police state within the Nralakk Federation, due to the psionic wake promoting a unity on a scale which not any other species in the Spur can compare to. The exceedingly long lifespans, psionic abilities, and social credit systems also open up unique opportunities for roleplay not available to the human race.
Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:
The Skrell have had a long and storied history, being the oldest Spur-borne species on the server, and their extremely long lifespans provide an entirely different mindset. The culture also provides an entirely different view compared to Humanity - the general attitude towards synthetics is extremely conflicted compared to most humans, and familial bonds tend to involve a deeper emphasis on a polygamous relationship. The governmental entities are entirely unified compared to humanity. When playing as a human, you have an absolutely massive amount of origins and governments to pick to, but Skrellian society tends to be mostly unified under a singular manner - the Nralakk Federation
Character Name:(Character name) Xim’Eq Lixuq
Please provide a short backstory for this character
(Approximately two paragraphs)
Xim’Eq Lixuq, a Xiialt skrell, was born on Aweji on 2322 - born to a Quya of four upper-band Secondary Numericals. The time period they were born in brought massive change to the Nralakk Federation, as the second Nralakk Federation had finished uniting after the horrors of Glorsh-Omega. Their Qrri’Myaq, a devout Qeblak imprinted on them heavily, and successfully performed Aqi’qa on them, resulting in them becoming a strong Reciever.
Throughout their Scuttle Schooling years, they were kept a watchful eye on, as custom of all Federation parents, and easily conformed due to their Reciever status. However, in their Reefgarden, they struggled to grasp theoretical-type learning, such as science and math. Brought to stress due to their academic struggles in Reefgarden, they seeked solace in the Srom and, resulting in a chronic oversleeping habit that persists to this day, much to their Quya’s dismay.
They struggled to get into any prestigious educational colleges, such as in Aliose, and instead opted for a less prestigious and a more vocational educational institution. While this did bring down their social credit score towards a lower Secondary, they were able to find many opportunities within the Nralakk Federation as an engineer, due to the near-complete lack of automation.
However, as the C’thur hive gained prevalence within Nralakk, many menial or engineering job opportunities quickly ran out for them as Bound Vaurcae quickly took up most jobs and did them more effectively then Xim - due to his Srom addiction. With their social credit quickly declining through a prolonged period of unemployment, and not wanting to dishonor their parents, they took a position on the Work Initiative Program at Qerr'Zolvq Industries - leading to their transfer to Hephaestus, and by extension, the SCCV Horizon.
What do you like about this character?
I thought it would be interesting to create a character that has basically been forced into the Work Exchange Program to save his social credit score and his employment status, and was directly negatively affected by the C’thur Hive’s bound drones.
How would you rate your role-playing ability?
I would say it is a solid 7. I still have things that I need to improve on, but I can roleplay satisfactorily and make somewhat interesting characters.
Notes:
Xim’s favorite food has to be the Lortl, owing to Aweji’s reputation as the agricultural capital of the Federation.
Their social score presently sits at a 4.6.
