  1. We were gonna try and get them to come save her IIRC. It was a plan put together by myself and Josh. We didn't get her so we didn't have much to do (I think her name was Karmia, or something. She is a Tarja.) We've been trying to get her FOREVER. Our plan was basically soiled by an officer who followed her (or was called by her) and I attempted to stun/kill the officer but he got away and called for backup. Then the armoury was blown and everything went hectic. Because of her ID she could get around most of the Science Wing, and both Josh and myself were shot by a taser, so we couldn't catch her. She ended up with security. Shortly after I patched myself up (was in critical from laser wounds, and the pressure crushing me) and kidnapped a guy named Garry. Then, everything went to shit.
  2. I'll make this short (it's 4:15 AM). So our plan was to nab one person and bomb their station after nabbing them. The problem is security came and we couldn't get her. So we ended up walking around for an hour doing jackshit. Josh left us due to tiredness (and boredom). Due to my lack of knowledge of the nuke, and my eagerness to end the fucking round, I left it on the asteroid because that's where everyone was. Not knowing it can't be detonated there. We talked shit as we returned to base and ended up taking a single hostage and some technology (nuke didn't activate). Their ship was badly damaged but not destroyed. A shameful way to end the round. Apologies to everyone that had to be apart of that round. We weren't the best but we began very coordinated. I would do it again with the knowledge I have gained. Again, sorry to everyone that had to deal with our general stupidity (mainly myself).

    Server Crash?

    Alright, thanks. Just making sure.

    Server Crash?

Bit of an irrelevant question but did the server crash? Cannot connect and only see four people on.
  5. Bump. It's been about three days and I have not got any feedback. I'd appreciate if someone could but y'know, it's whatever. (Sorry for the bump/double post.)
  6. BYOND key: Consgrove Character names: Dully Deebs (Now Dullivan Deebs), Maury Marrick How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Since October (of 2014), I believe Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: To take a stronger commanding role and further branch out role-play Why did you come to Aurora?: My friends brought me here Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Esstinentally, role-play is the act of taking the role of a character within its own universe; you control this character and act out for them. Role-play is to provide at least a complete sentence for an action or to state something. Though not all actions require an entire sentence, but it is needed to provide context for a situation. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Well, the character playing the Head has deemed responsible enough to maintain and control a branch of others: they have the power, charisma and will to guide those into the right path. They are generally viewed as veterans of a server, if a whitelist is required, or an experienced role-player. Their purpose is what I have stated: to maintain and control. Whether it be OOC, or IC, they are held responsible for their own actions and the actions of their branch. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: To act as a rolemodel. Those with a whitelist are seen as responsible and extensive role-players, mature enough to show they are willing to command. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Dully Deebs Character age: 43 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Dullivan S. Deebs was an awkward child. He prefered the bliss of solitude than to be in the crowd, it was until his time with Nanotrasen he had always worked alone. He began his career as a Cargo technician at the age of 24. A few years after that he moved up to the position of Quartermaster, learning more and more about construction and electrical engineering (as he was the one who fixed up his own workstation, in most cases). He applied for the position of Engineer Apprentice and remained in this position for a single year before moving onto Station Engineer. As he matured and continued his career with Nanotrasen, he found himself interested with the well-being and safety of the entire station; he had a strong interest regarding the Security branch. He found himself becoming a Security Cadet after a mandatory reassignment to the position of Cargo Technician after an 'airlock malfunction'. He truly came out of his shell during this period, speaking more often than he ever did in his entire career. Dully was proud to be a Security Officer. He knew the rules and (most of) the Regulations. He had always obeyed his Head, and after more than five years as a Security Officer, he only felt that it was right for him to try and advanced to this exact role. Only fate can tell if Dully proves himself an excellent leader of the Security Wing (and possibly as a Captain!) What do you like about this character?: He can open up to those he trusts and share his own opinion with them. What do you dislike about this character?: How he can be awkward in certain situations, and how I was mature with him, getting myself banned and what not. Most people think of him as a minge, but I truly have been trying to change his image. Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff?: Yes. He may be awkward but can maintain a stable branch. He has a few years in both the Cargo, and Engineering branch, but has several years in the Security branch. He has worked with good leaders and can present, and prove, himself as a good lead.er Why?: Because as I've said, I believe myself, and my character are ready to take on this role. I've seen the way others have acted as Heads and Dully is (in my opinion) old enough has enough experience with Nanotrasen to take a leading role. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I'd consider myself a decent role-player, and can provide both quality and quantity when required. Extra notes: I know I have acted immature in the past, but all of that is behind. Please do not judge me by my past actions and behavior, but my current one. Plus from what I've seen, most early rounds (i.e 10 AM - 12 PM CST) generally have no Head of Security.
  7. Good application, and a good player. I've seen his role-play and speech, he can certainly handle himself (and he is quite active on the server). I'd say go for it.
  8. I really do like this. Some antags just aren't good antags (or have never played the role before) and need to settle in before they go right for it.
  9. I agree with EvilBrage. The AI should do quite a bit tomfoolery before nuking the station (assuming they intend to do so). Add some decent RP and what not, maybe say a door is 'malfunctioning', get the Engineers to waste their time and supplies fixing the door. Pretty much anything that keeps the station off of your toes but letting you drag out the round to be longer than thirty minutes.
  10. To clarify: I know this was posted recently, but it was locked shortly after for going off-topic. So please, try to keep things relevant to this specific subject. As I said on the server, this is not that large of an issue. I certainly know it's only a minority of a few folks that dedicate themselves to the Extended gamemode (or just downright dislike the Nuclear gamemode); but something rather interesting happened not too long ago regarding the Nuclear gamemode and how many people are required to be ready in order to play said gamemode. (This section of the thread is taken from another post made earlier, by myself. Although a few bits have been edited.) I came on today for something more than Extended (after learning the strings and most roles, this gamemode tends to get a bit old). We managed to get seven votes (certainly not the majority of the server, as there were more than thirty people on at the time, but we surpassed Extended in terms of actual votes) for a Nuclear round and most people were fine with it. The problem is that we had about thirteen players ready and with more than thirty people playing on the server. We waited more than two minutes and we only remained with thirteen people ready. (The timer counted down twice and still, and soon enough we were down to eleven people being ready!) I am not pointing any fingers but a few people continued to chat in OOC and still did not ready up. I am not saying that we need to punish those or even enforce it (that would be idiotic), but possibly lower the amount of people required to start the round (if we have thirty people on the server, then I am sure we'll have more than enough to start the round). So when the staff team called for another vote, we tied for Nuclear and Extended. Extended, believe it or not, was picked between the two, and within the first few seconds, fifteen people were immediately ready. I left shortly after and I checked how many people were on the server after Extended was voted for and a few people left as well. Change it, don't change, I really think it's not that big of a deal, I'd just like to get some variation on the server. I just find it ridiculous that people manipulate the ready system so that we are forced to call for another vote. If you don't like the gamemode then just leave, or simply observe the match and busy yourself with something other than the game.
  11. I agree to lowering it. I came on today for something more than Extended (after playing most roles it gets really boring). We managed to get seven votes for a Nuclear round and we were all set for it. The problem is that we had about 13 players ready and with more than 30 people playing on the server. We waited more than two minutes and we only remained with 13 people ready. I am not pointing names but a few people were talking in the OOC chat just fine and they were never ready. Once we voted again (we tied for Nuclear and Extended), Extended was selected as the vote this time, and within seconds we had more than 15 people ready. This ready manipulation really ruins the fun for me. I came on this server to play the game, and after being here for quite some time, as well as learning the roles, I am quite tired of playing the Extended mode, time after time after time. I honestly prefer the variation and have began to leave after a single round of Extended.
  12. BYOND Key: Consgrove Total Ban Length: 1 day Banning staff member's Key: suethecake Reason of Ban: Banned for attacking someone at the end of the round when it was for an IC purpose of him stealing a nymph off of me once the shuttle landed and I wasn't buckled in. Reason for Appeal: I was attacking a guy named Anthony for stealing a Nymph named Big Tot ICly when I was randomly banned. Now it's weird because I hadn't gotten a warning prior yet the admins banned me saying I got two warnings. I had received no direct warnings whatsoever and have the OOC disabled. If I still see admin messages that are OOC messages then I was too busy keeping my eyes peeled on Anthony whom I didn't plan to kill, I asked him for Big Tot back and he just shouted no. Suethecake should've sent me a direct message rather than say it globally. I didn't intend for it to be EoR but I guess it was. P.S. While I did send out an OOC message right after the crew transfer vote I had decided to disable it shortly after as the OOC started to really pick up.
  13. Bump. Sorry for being impatient but I noticed a few admins had read my thread, including TishinaStalker, and was just hoping that someone could respond to me. Thanks.
  14. BYOND Key: Consgrove Total Ban Length: 3 Days Banning staff member's Key: TishinaStalker Reason of Ban: "Smashed a player repeatedly with an oxygen tank as EoR grief, then logged." Reason for Appeal: Well, last night after the shuttle was launched I was left on the station (and it was incredibly laggy due to revolutionary guy blowing up the medbay with a bomb) and I didn't realize I was smashing a guy's skull into his brain as I was getting really impatient with the lag and was clicking down and mashing down on the arrow keys. It was entirely an accident, and it wasn't my intention to actually log out after smashing the guy's head in, I lost connection and tried to rejoin and eventually got a connection about three minutes later. I'm sorry for what happened and I never wanted to actually kill anyone, as I didn't know I literally right next to the guy when I was clicking down. In case you're thinking like "Wow just be patient!!" I was trying to be. The entire round was very slow for me and I had to reconnect around six times or so. I missed the shuttle by about four seconds due to lag and I got rather upset because I had lost connection once more.
