BYOND Key: Shajo Staff BYOND Key: Melariara Game ID: ccS-duiV Reason for complaint: No longer permitted to use long standing AI without reason given. This is in general against the AI Whitelist team, Melariara is just the one who had to send the message. No hard feelings. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: This is all I received when being told to no longer utilize Paladin, an AI I have played frequently whenever I have time to hop back on the game for a while. This AI personality has existed since the Aurora and has received no complaints until today. Thus I am lodging a complaint to try and receive the following: Why is this AI personality, after so long, now being restricted from use? Has any rule been broken by utilizing this personality? Does this AI detract from any given round in any way? This AI usually offers people something to grumble and chit chat about or have fun debates as to 'what is my title'! I would like to know what I have done wrong with this particular AI to warrant the whitelist team no longer wishing to see them about, as I have yet to see any detrimental effects come about as a result of its personality. Thank you.

Got to play a round with them today, it was extended so a calm way to meet the character. Did well with handling a sensitive matter brought back by science and generally directing the crew with Gremorian clearing. I hope to catch them on a few more rounds on this character, but so far a good impression! -
I was talking with Pochto about this and had some questions I asked on discord I thought would be fun for them to answer: During her preparations for invasion, what measures did her family take? Did they can food? Did they have an abundance of sustenance or how close to running out were they? Create a fake dish they would have prepared or canned at the time, just be imaginative! During the 4 years she studied, did she make any friends? How difficult was the school work for her? What are her opinions on other Tajaran ethnicities? Does she discriminate against the Zhan and nobles? What are her thoughts on the other nations of Adhomai? What about the expat communities across the galaxy like Himeo and Beisel?

BYOND Key: Shajo Character Names: Task, Aisyah Zaydan, Relshii'Zarq, Za'Akaix'Nox Zo'ra, Rrhulaya Zidan, Mrro'Zardynh Vidarii, Marin O'Neill Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Yu'kal brown Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Sometimes I want to break out of my own comfort zone and play something vastly different than what I am used to. Unathi allow me to do this by exploring concepts I don't normally go for (Hello space argonians) and exploring my roleplay horizons! I am quite excited to delve into their spiritual nature with other Unathi crew and explore the tension between traditionalists and the female warrior I intend to play. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: While human cultures have MOSTLY evolved past a feudal system, the Unathi are a stubborn lot that mostly cling to old traditions and ways. This leads to the reinforcement of gender roles and castes, dictating what one does based upon the caste they are born into. They also, as a species, tend to have a strict warriors code of honor they fall and utilize to settle disputes. Also, lets state the obvious.. You're a 7 foot tall carnivorous lizard with odd behavioral quirks, the laziness of an alligator, and the ability to strike like a serpent when the need arises. Character Name:(Character name) Ch'aecha Kressk Please provide a short backstory for this character: No soul was left untouched by the Contact War. Even those within the Hegemony that live within the lush jungles still handle deal with the aftermath of their conquest. For those who lived within the Wastelands, life was often much more difficult than those within the lush jungles. The sands are where Ch'aecha called home, born within the Queendom of Szek'Hakh in 2445. Growing up was not easy for the young Ch'aecha, food was scarce and her family barely managed to scrape by. Starvation was ever a possibility, disease knocking at the door whenever possible to try and find new hosts, and strife in back alleys leading to robbery and bloodshed. Females being more prominent in society allowed her some greater privileges and opportunities than she would have been offered under the Hegemony and the young Ch'aecha found a fascination with the female warriors that protected the city. Vowing to become brave and strong like those who sheltered her family from the outside world, the child marched up to a warrior with a stick and promptly tried to challenge them to a duel for the right to learn to fight. What did this do? It drew laughter, warm and mirthful laughter from the warrior-woman she had sought to beat.. With a stick. Courage, she was told, was a good start though there was much to learn. Ch'aecha spent the next several years of her life in an apprenticeship under the warrior, learning not only how to fight with various weapons but also tend to her wounds (in a small way) and survive in an inhospitable environment. Upon reaching the age of sixteen she joined the warriors in defense of her city, acting as a guard under the direction of the Queen. Four years she spent in this position before meeting a smuggler. Not one of the Unathi, she found fascination when hearing the tales they told about the wider galaxy and the different peoples there. Using her saved funds, she bought passage offworld and the smuggler per her in contact with some 'friends' of his in Tau Ceti, who offered her a position through one of the various corporations under the PCMG umbrella. Taking on a contract that sent her to the SCCV Horizon, she now seeks to travel the galaxy and experience all she can so she might, one day, return with knowledge to enrich her homeland. What do you like about this character? That they are a fighter, going against the established male-only warrior society the Hegemony projects as well as other societies. Strong, independent, and curious, I feel that she will be fun to explore relations with other people and develop her friendships and knowledge of the galaxy. With wanting to learn all she can to bring it home with her, she will take a lot of opportunity to interact with -everyone- and learn about them and their peoples, taking an active role in the crew in a social (And protective) aspect. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty good! I'd like to think I'm a reasonable roleplayer and people tend to enjoy interacting with my characters! Notes: Religion - They are a follower of Th'akh, quite devout at that. They hold frequent rites and prayer to the spirits and seek guidance in times of turmoil from them and shamans. The Hegemony - Viewed with disdain for their oppression of women and the caste system that permeates the society. She is of a belief that a woman can do anything that a man can and is out to prove it with a chip on her shoulder. K'lax - Fascinated, but also concerned since they are mostly allied with the Hegemony. Thinks they could do a lot of good for Moghes if they would be allowed to work with the Wastelanders to restore it to its former glory and lush jungles. Skrell - Their pacifistic tendency brings her a great deal of annoyance. Political matters can be easily settled, along with conflicts, with words if required.. But she views them as weak and cowardly since they do not seem willing to fight someone for their beliefs (Such as a disagreement on the streets where a harsh insult was thrown about). Dionae - Mostly positive, their passive nature infuriates her but she's come to realize that they're sort of 'programmed' to be passive, rather like the unathi are sort of 'programmed' for honor. (Her brain thoughts, not mine) Humans - She frowns upon the structure of the Dominians but likes their duels to settle disputes. She views anyone who is willing to accept a fight for their beliefs in a positive light. Tajara - "It has… FUR?!"

[Accepted]Shajo Wants To Be Groot (Dionae App)

Hey! Thanks for the feedback! To start with Idris, the company itself that picked them up does not matter too much. I can shift to NT as well! I'd go indie but I don't think they can take service jobs. 1 - Having met other Dionae on Moghes, they find others of their species to be fascinating. However, due to Whisper's losses in the past w are afraid of other Dionae being too different and not accepting them (which would hurt them deeply. They find the Oasis unathi to be a delight for their simple lives, especially the clan that tended to them. Overall their reaction to lost Unathi is neutral, given their lack of overall unity and cooperation over violence. They also detest gender roles and do not understand them in the least, as all should have a voice (harmonious hymn mindset). They have not had much exposure to other species besides Tajara and humans. Tajara are semi-positive because they smuggled them off world, but their bickering and politics that Whisper has read about baffles and angers them. Humans are met with much of the same outward courtesy and inner disdain for their violence against their own. Out of all species the Skrell (as a whole) get their respect the most for their non-violent methods of solving disputes. 2-They HATE the hegemony for the way it governs its people. The gestalt is a harmonious hymn, where all in the gestalt get an equal say. Due to this, any attempt by any government to subjugate its people and smother out voices is looked down upon with disgust. The democratic nations are viewed in a positive light, even with their flaws, since they allow their people to have a voice and choose laws to be enacted and how they wish their lives to be lived. 3- They do not fully understand the concept of religion yet, but the blood they consumed has them leaning towards the tenants of Th'akh. The thought that worshipping ones ancestors and those that came before is a strange comfort, one that has aided im easing the pain of loss, and gives hope their lost Nymphs will one day be reborn and find one another again. -
BYOND Key: Shajo Character Names: Task, Aisyah Zaydan, Relshii'Zarq, Za'Akaix'Nox Zo'ra, Rrhulaya Zidan, Mrro'Zardynh Vidarii, Marin O'Neill Species you are applying to play: Dionae What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Very dark green-black (Born in space) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: PLANT PEOPLE! Okay, serious. Dionae are a fascinating species that offer a unique perspective to not play just ONE character, but a combination of them that all work in harmony to create their gestalt and survive. They offer a unique perspective with their passive nature (Usually passive) and are not a standard biological creature that has unique needs that I find absolutely fascinating! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I touched on this a bit with the last question. You are not just ONE entity or organism, you are SEVERAL all sharing one body, working as one to survive with varying different methods of accomplishing that. You are capable of separating one part that doesn't want to belong anymore and integrating others, allowing the gestalt to constantly be changing and evolving. You don't care about hte taste of food, but other things make it fascinating! You can create biomass bulbs and the like and DRINK BLOOD to gain knowledge! You also have a universal sense of situational passiveness that dictates when you should be aggressive and when you should not be. Also you're a PLANT. Character Name:(Character name) The Final Dirge Of A Thousand Lost Whispers Please provide a short backstory for this character: Lost Whispers was not born on any planet nor any space ship, not behold to any kingdom or empire. No, they were born in th depths of space. Originally part of a Trireme Colossus, their gestalt had traveled the stars for longer than any one nymph could remember. During their travels through the stars, following belts of high radiation to survive, they collected an ample amount of particles, debris, and space dust that shrouded them and gave them the appearance of a normal asteroid. It was this unfortunate disguise that caused them to be mistaken as an asteroid by Unathi Asteroid Miners. The gestalt was hit by remote detonated explosives, shattering them and killing ninety percent of the nymphs that made up the gestalt. When the pieces were brought aboard, the Unathi were shocked and disgusted with themselves, finding they had killed a large number of Dionae instead of collecting rare minerals. Being superstitious, the survivors were transported to Moghes and smugglers hired to bring the Dionae to Clan Dorviza in the wastelands. It was there that 'The Dryads' tended to the nymphs along with the dionae present in their clan. However, all but seven would perish due to their injuries. Those that remained received blood from the clan to help them learn and understand the Unathi people and where they were, eventually forming into the Cyclops known as The Final Dirge Of A Thousand Lost Whispers. Through their time with the Dorviza they learned a good deal about plants tending to gardens, eventually becoming quite a natural at it and finding great pleasure in the tending of life. During a visit from smugglers bringing supplies to the Wastelanders, Lost Whispers negotiated their passage off world and to a far off port of call as they never truly felt that Moghes was destined to be their home. At this port they met a representative of the Idris Corporation and managed to acquire a contract that had them sent to the SCCV Horizon as a gardener. What do you like about this character? That I get to play a group of sentient, adorable plants that are trying to figure out who they are since the destruction of their greater form, dealing with the loss of a massive amount of their fellows they were bonded with in the gestalt, and simply surviving in a way that makes them happy. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty good! I'd like to think I'm a reasonable roleplayer and people tend to enjoy interacting with my characters! Notes: Mind type: Harmonious Hymn Thoughts on Titans: The fact they lost nearly a thousand or more of their fellows in the colossus, the thought of any such being existing and being so large that it could lose so much terrifies them. They think Dionae are made to retain smaller forms, that the loss of one would not cause such grief to others. Thoughts on Unathi: They tend to like the Spirits of the Oasis clans that they came to know, though the greater unathi population is much of a mystery to them and they have no long term opinions on them. Thoughts on other Dionae: They are fascinated to meet and learn more about Dionae outside of Moghes, finding out how they live and what knowledge they have to share. Fears: Loss of any nymph in their gestalt is a fear they possess on a primal level. The death of one would cause much pain and grief given the prior losses they faced.

I've got to play a few rounds with them on my skrell xenobio and I have to say they are very engaging with the department, authorizing and overseeing research, and generally being a good head of staff. I vote yes for them for RD. +1

Thanks for the reply! My interest in Vrith would be more on the scientific side, after locating and retrieving the artifacts being able to study and figure out their origin. I figured he's larger and sturdier than normal workers, so he'd have an easier time surviving unexplored and potentially dangerous areas to be able to find things to study.

BYOND Key: (byond key) Shajo Character Names: (character name) Mrro'Zardynh Vidarii, Rrhuyala Zidan, Task, Hiyin Qwll, Tesla, Unity, Kiqui Qwll, Kiu Laishi, PALADIN, INQUISITOR Species you are applying to play: (species name) Vaurca Bulwark What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Color of your character; Dionaea & IPCs exempt) wintergreen-esque (RGB 28, 102, 84) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have! While there's always more to learn, I feel like I've got a decent grasp on the race! As always, I love feedback and continued learning! (Also been getting some IC learning on a character too!) Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: (One paragraph minimum) There's playing an alien, then there's the Vaurca who are so foreign from most other species that we have that learning all of their lore has been mind boggling! My interest was piqued after some IC interactions with our resident C'thur liaison and I'm really excited to try and learn more about this unique race and play them in an environment where they are around other people! From their strange hivemind and VR afterlife to the way their society is structured and integrates into human, unathi, and skrell society? There's so much to explore with them! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: (One Paragraph minimum) The hivemind stands out, along with heavy augmentation that many organic species tend to find disturbing. You are also an individual (If unbound) that has a biological tick to be loyal and useful to your hive. You're also playing a race that potentially lives FOREVER due to their consciousness being uploaded to VR upon death, and can be reslotted into another body (Though a novelty at this time) for further use in the physical world. Death does not stop your ability to aid and advance your species, as you can continue research and aiding from VR. You can't breathe normal air or eat normal food, You survive on K'ois and phoron which would kill others! It's a super neat system that makes them feel truly alien, along with how they are having to adapt to other alien species and find themselves captured within those societies and work to survive in them. Character Name:(Character name) Ra'Akaix'Vrith K'lax Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs) Ra'Akaix'Vrith K'lax was created in the Brood of Leto, one of the new Bulwarks recently spotted in the galaxy. After their six month organic growth period they were slotted with a neural socket and began training under the guidance of Ka'Akaix'Doss K'lax in the field of archaeology. Unlike many of their peers, they were not created and relegated to menial work or engineering, but rather designed to share in scientific pursuits that required a bit more muscle. Afterall, some artifacts that had been discovered were quite large and having a bigger frame allowed for Vrith to handle them more easily and transport them. The six month period went well for the young Vaurca, taking easily to the training and finding an innate eagerness to pursue the unknown. After their full one year period of growth they fully came into their body from VR and was sent for a brief period to work with a mining operation on Tret to have some practical, hands on experience with excavation. A few months time was all they needed to grasp the finer details of mining operations and safety before they were chosen to be amongst a group of scientifically minded Vaurca to be sent off to NanoTrasen for profitable work. They have spent the last six months working on various NT stations before being assigned fully to the SCCV Horizon as an Archaeologist, providing them with the opportunity to traverse the unknown and search for the ancient artifacts their Queen held so dear. (See notes for further details) What do you like about this character? (Describe what you like about this character) I love the fact that the Vaurca have such a well traveled and mysterious history that I will get to explore from the prospect of a Xenoarchaeologist! Digging in to the history and lore of ancient Vaurca from an IC aspect will be rather thrilling, as will being one of the new Bulwarks who look AMAZING. I'm excited to learn more as I play them and find the quirks of their personality. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty decent! I think anyone who's interacted with my characters can say that I'm a reasonably good roleplayer! Sometimes I need a nudge to make sure I get things juuuust right, but once that's done I feel that I stay in the theme and feel of what I set out to do very well! Notes: Religion: Hive/Clasiccal pantheon - The queens bring life to barren worlds, without them the Vaurca would not survive. They are to be protected and cared for, and sought for guidance when needed. Feelings on other hives: Zo'ra - Disliked, feels as though the Zo'ra still view the K'lax as their vassals instead of an independent people. Not hostile, but not favorable. C'thur - Neutral. Approves of the amount of scientific experimentation and exploration that the C'thur undertake as a whole, but find themselves unable to grasp their connection to the Skrell. At least they know where the K'lax stand with the Unathi. Think's it's very sorrowful that High Queen C'thur is injured, wishes them a full recovery because they don't want to see -any- queen die. It's a tragedy. Lii'dra - Hates. Both from biological conditioning and what they've heard and understood in their own life so far. No one should seek to subjugate all the Hives, let them be independent! Nor is violence the solution to the problems the Vaurca face. Races: Skrell - Interesting, long lived, technologically advanced. Afraid they might accidentally break them due to how squishy they are if they so much as look at them the wrong way. Humanity - Positive, even if the Zo'ra are the ones who mostly deal with Humanity. Their time on Tret has given them a positive view of humanity and working alongside them. Just wait until they meet their first xenophobe… Unathi - Positive. Very thankful the Unathi took them in and even gave them their own space to live on. Does not like that the Unathi hold dominion over them via vassalage, but they hope a bright future for the two races can be obtained as equals, not as masters and servants. Approves of the Unathi sense of honor and finds that its an appealing addition to life. Also they're covered in hardened hide, which is less squishy than most. Very agreeable. IPC - Mostly positive. Views them as less effective Cephalon. Humanities step in the right direction towards technological advancement, but they forgot the biological aspect. Likes most IPC's work ethic since it's hard coded in and can resonate with having biological programming that resembles IPC programming. Dionae - Loves. Considering how Dionae can combine into massive lifeforms and multiple minds become one, they are fascinated with Dionae. It's like an entire hive in a small body! Goes out of their way to try and get to know Dionae and befriend them. Tajara - Neutral. Has heard stories of them but has never met one. Does not understand how an intelligent species evolved to have fur. Carapace is better. Hobbies: Coin collection - Loves to collect antique coins and currency from other species. They don't understand the real value of them, they just love the varied designs and stylistic choices. Music - Avid listener of alien music, especially anything that has a thrum to it (String instruments). Loves classical human orchestra or anything with a deep drumming beat.

Rename miners or add an alt title for other specialisations!
Lilly Evans replied to DahBunny's topic in Archive
I had the idea of Geographer/explorer specialization who's job is to map asteroids/away sites and note gamma readings (Like xenoarch does to find artifacts, but does not dig for artifacts), note resources found, etc all for the benefit of the SCC sending more dedicated mining/retrieval operations to those areas. -
Ah, I didn't catch that. I am 100% willing to change my concept around for Heph as well for engineering work! Thanks for pointing that out, it highlights some extra reading I'll be doing today! They support the young hadiism school of thought. Mrro is a young soul who has grown up during a very rough time in Tajaran history. She believes that military rule needs to change with the times to come and that greater assurances of privacy and equality should be assured for all. The Party should serve the People, not vice versa. If things remain as they are, she fears that yet another revolution will come and Adhomai will become further fractured than it already is, a thought which breaks her heart. Their moving outside of Adhomai is a means to an end. They want to be able to access a greater system of continuing education and technology that is available in the wider galaxy, not only that which NanoTrasen and a few other factions gift them to. Eventually they want to be able to afford to move their mother and youngest sibling (Still a VERY young child) to Mendell City and ensure that her youngest sibling can get the best in education that she can offer. She also wants to ensure an easier life for her family there (so she hopes) than is available on Adhomai. Through their work contract and education they hope to one day be able to return to Adhomai and assist in planning large infrastructure and rebuilding projects, especially focusing on rural areas that typically are left without the technological advances available in the cities. In short, go out, get her family a better life, learn all she possibly can and make as much money as she can, and try to come home and help fund/plan/enact projects to better the lives of her fellow Tajara.

Foreword - I am always open to correction, guidance, and education. IF there is anything in here that needs to be expanded upon or fixed, please let me know! I will respond with an answer and try to bring this character further into line! Feel free to give your input and insight, I hope to see you all on team Fuzzball soon! BYOND Key: Shajo Character Names: Hiyin Qwll, Kusai Riori, Marin O'Neill, Task, The AI formerly known as PALADIN. Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Color of your character; Dionaea & IPCs exempt) : Calico if I can get the game to cooperate with that idea (Hharar) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have! Gosh it was a lot but it was a wonderful read! 7/5 would read again. And probably will have to! Always want to make sure I'm on point for my lore! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: (One paragraph minimum) I'll give you the joke answer first: KHAJIIT IN SPAAAAACE! Moving on! I've always loved the idea of Tajara, from their manner of speech to the unique way their culture has evolved and split into so many subsections. Let alone the trials they face amongst alien races and trying to keep out of trouble with their own governments! It's like the Soviet Union met the IRA met the.. I don't have a good comparison on hand for the New Kingdom of Adhomai. I want to be able to explore the mindset of a person who came from the harsh world they live on and how they struggle to find their place in the galaxy. Who they are, where they come from, how they view and interact with other species, and in the end how they finally find where they belong. I also love that they look like giant felines. As a player of Khajiit, I wish them warm sands. It's just something I've always enjoyed playing when available! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: (One Paragraph minimum) Modern humans have had an extensive amount of time to evolve and make cultural and scientific progress, where as the Tajara became stunted in both of these regards due to the green of the nobility of Adhomai. Where as Humans might expect to be granted the rights of privacy and freedom of speech, a Tajara has grown up without these rights and often adopts a more reserved approach to life. Tajara face more galactic scrutiny and racism than humans as well, being viewed as 'intellectually and culturally inferior' to many peoples of the cosmos. They are also a people of strong oral storytelling/song traditions along with theater and performance arts, relying less on books (Until recent years) to share stories and information and instead using word of mouth to teach. They are often less educated as well. Character Name:(Character name) Mrro'Zardynh Vidarii Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs) Born in 2444, Mrro'Zardynh was raised in a modest sized city within the domain of the Peoples Republic of Adhomai. Raised in a family of four children, of which she was the second youngest, life for her was one filled with joy from playing with her siblings and a curiosity at the wider galaxy. With NanoTrasen integrating its operations upon Adhomai, Mrro was given an opportunity denied her parents: A chance to obtain a proper education. A gifted child, she found a great love for learning and would often try to scrounge up small scrap parts to tinker with. She even managed a few small creations, very simple things that helped with small problems she found as a youth. When she was seven years old her Father left the planet with her two eldest siblings, just after President Hadii was assassinated and his brother took over, on a contract with NanoTrasen as miners. Leaving the young Tajara with her mother at home and her youngest sibling, they struggled to make ends meet as no credits arrived from their family to assist. The reason was simple: Their brothers were too far away to access banking systems to make transfers and their father had died in an accident on the mines. Grieving the loss of her family, she took to her education with an almost obsessive interest. She flourished in mathematics and structural engineering, eventually finding her place within the Hadii Institute of Orbital Research for a degree in Engineering. Blessed with a chance to take part in an exchange program with Tau Ceti, she took her first steps onto a foreign planet when she was nineteen years old.. And fell in love with the strange, alien world about her. She finished her education at the age of twenty two and took a contract with Zavodskoi instead of the traditional NanoTrasen that her people usually went to. This was due to the loss of her father under the employ of NanoTrasen. Taking life into her own hands and seeking better for herself, she left Adhomai and moved closer to a district where her employer actively had an office: Mendell City. Along with being contracted to the SCC Horizon as an Engineering Apprentice, she also has taken to earning her citizenship through service in the TCFL as part of their engineering core. What do you like about this character? (Describe what you like about this character) I love the idea of someone coming from a society they love, but realize the inherent flaws of, and leaving to try and find a better life for themselves in any way they are able. They are a driven and determined young woman who managed a decent education and has the drive to continue to learn and attend college to better herself while working her jobs. Also space cat. I love space cat. I think it will be fun interacting with other Tajara on the Horizon and finding out how she TRULY feels about those darn terrorists in the other governments of Adhomai she encounters. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty darn good! I think most people who have played with me can attest that I can stick to my job duties and provide decent rp! Who doesn't love Task?! Notes: Religion: S'rand'marr. She's not a dedicated, scripture reciting sort. But it's comforting to believe in something. It keeps you going when you're at your lowest. PRA: She's a citizen of the PRA and while she has no belief that her country is perfect and has room to grow, she believes they're on the right track. She's not fully sure what to make of human influence on her people, but she loves the vibrance of human society! DPRA: She views them as little better than terrorists who want to keep Adhomai in the dark ages. Sure the PRA might be human influenced, but at least they're striving for technological advances instead of shunning the help her people desperately need! NKA: Traitors who helped overthrow the Nobility… Only to reinstate the Nobility. She can make no sense out of this and thinks the NKA are dangerous who want to take their her people and throw them back under the ball and chain of the nobility that should now be gone! Everyone should be on equal footing, not 'ruling because we have the blood to do so'. Humanity: A curiousity and novelty, she is seeking citizenship in Beisel for what she believes will be a better life for herself. She doesn't always agree with what humans do, but they make her feel like she has some semblance of privacy and rights to free speech. So there's that! Skrell: Friendly. She views what little she knows of Skrell society as fascinating. Lead by creative thinkers and scientists, she hopes that Adhomai can take a lesson from here and move away from military style governance in full and allow great thinkers to lead. Bugmen, because I can never spell their name right: A 'what in the name of the moon and sun are these things?!' feeling. She KNOWS they're people and should be treated right, but by the gods they are just so ALIEN AND STRANGE! She avoids them unless she's forced to interact. Dionae: Living plants? Neat! Eating blood to learn? Less neat! Alien, sure, but the fact they're basically plant people makes her feel strangely at ease. Since when has a plant ever hurt anyone? Until it does. IPC: Free thinking machine people are super interesting as well as super worrying. There's no emotion, just logic. Which can be fine.. But she doesn't want one to decide burning down her home is the best way to get rid of a termite infestation instead of doing something less dire! Unathi: She's never met one, she does not even know they exist. So that will be fun!

Thanks for asking! Hiyin would feel quite uncomfortable working with one that was openly critical of Jargon and its citizens. A refugee skrell is a chance to help someone better themselves and join the federation in full and they views helping them adopt true Skrell values as their moral obligation. However, a vocal opponent would cause them to nearly crawl out of their skin. They would be distant and detached when talking to said outspoken individual, only communicating what was absolutely needed to get the job done before taking an opportunity to distance themselves when possible. A non-Federation loving Skrell would be a new experience for Hiyin and would be quite scary!

Thanks for the questions! 1. They follow Weishii, which is one part of why they were eager to accept Zeng-Hu's contract. It was a hope that they would get to observe, meditate, and try to commune with new celestial bodies and divine meaning from them. 2. They were born on Qerrbalak, in the Ash'Alq region. Being at one of the larger centers for tourism and the Archives meant that their Qrri'Myaq ensured they ALWAYS kept far away from the dreaded 'toeing the line' and engaged them in various community efforts such as volunteering to care for the reef and various skrellitarian efforts (Humanitarian? Skrellitarian?). This volunteer effort has lead to Hiyin being a very active individual in their workplace, taking up chances to better their environment. A clean home, city, and workplace leads to a happy Skrell! 3. She currently boasts a credit score of 8/10. They have full intention to return to the Federation with all knowledge gained from their time with Zeng-Hu and try to use it, with all care and consideration for how how foreign ideas can impact the federation and how they must be carefully examined over time, to better their home and people. The only reason they are outside of Federation space is because Zeng-Hu's employment would not harm their credit score, otherwise they would have remained. 4. The Refugee Crisis alarmed them but also gave them hope. They are hoping that all these refugees will be able to integrate into Skrell society and use Skrell ways to better themselves while also viewing them as a source of potential manual labor to help stabilize the bottom line of the Skrellian workforce. However they hold a good amount of fear that the refugees could contain radical elements that could result in the return of AI to the Federation along with negative changes in philosophy. So one part hope, two parts suspicion and concern.

BYOND Key: (byond key) Shajo Character Names: (character name) Marin O'Neill, Paladin, Task Species you are applying to play: (species name) Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Color of your character; Dionaea & IPCs exempt) Dark Red Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Every single one! Which is why we're here! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: (One paragraph minimum) After seeing Skrell about on the station, I grew curious about what they were and really what made them unique. After reading more about them, I've become incredibly interested in this psionic capable people and how they interact with the world about them, triple so considering synthetics and their history with them. Just like when I play my IPC, I want to be able to expand into something truly unique and put myself into an alien mindset that comes with its own unique culture and mentality and enjoy being something non-human and amazingly unique compared to many alien races in other settings! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: (One Paragraph minimum) I could probably write a novel on this. The largest difference is the Nlom, which should be taken into consideration when around other Skrell. The thought field that influences the thoughts of one skrell and others as well and their culture that has pushed them into a specific manner of acting and adhering to their own cultural norms that make it difficult to sway a Skrell away from that which they've been taught and influenced through said Nlom. You also have, for Federation Skrell, consideration of their employment and actions because it influences their credit score back home and the very lives they get to live (being non-zeng hu and away from the Federation is a HUGE thing, where as its not really for a human). They also have a dedication to learning as a people which is not ingrained into humanity. Though I said the largest difference is the thought bubble that influence Skrell, we can't forget their mannerisms as well. Humor is painful to them and they have a wide range of mannerisms that express their joy, pain, sorrow, and so on that are different than with humans. They lack strong facial muscles so their conveyance of emotion comes through tone of voice, body language, head tail movements, and psionics. Character Name:(Character name) Hiyin Qwll Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs) Hiyin was born to a rather sizable Quya of nearly ten individuals, each bright of mind and with a heart the size of a star. Kurall, their Qrri'Myaq, was an individual of exceptional determination and thoughtfulness in their work, a quality passed on to the young Hiyin that served them well through their scuttle schooling and has remained with them the entirety of their life. A quiet, reserved entity, Hiyin preferred to engross themselves in reading and study rather than associating with others. Though they made the occasional friend in their reefgarden, these were few and far between. But those they did form a kinship to were held dear and given all the care and consideration that the young Skrell could offer. Eventually these friendships opened them to the idea of group research and they found joy in experiencing learning with others rather than by themself. This lead to an opening of their view of others as 'distractions' and turned them towards 'potential research companion', which served them well in their studies. Hiyin grew into a well educated young Skrell and eventually was accepted into Aliose University of Medical Sciences to study Xenobiology. This was due to a fascination with alien species that the Federation was encountering and wanting to understand them and how they worked in order to further their own knowledge until they learned about the existence of Slimes. Sympathy for the creatures and a desire to learn all they knew drove them forward through their first round of college life while their second cycle in the college served to educate them further in medical technology and scientific theory. They took some time to explore alternative courses as well, such as Archaeology, to give them a well rounded education. They did not graduate top of their class, but they were close enough that it was not long before Zeng-Hu reached out upon the day of their second graduation to offer them employment. Given their interest in foreign species, especially after reading the articles wrote by Weashbi Jrugl, they happily accepted the contract offer and set out to their new life amongst, for the brief fifty years they planned to be there, amongst Zeng-Hu as a budding medical researcher. What do you like about this character? (Describe what you like about this character) What I like is that it feeds into two aspects of greater Skrell society: Medical and science. It allows me to play a few select roles aboard the Aurora while exploring Skrell life and society with other Skrell players and figuring out, since they are very new to being outside of Federation space, where they belong and fit in along with the unique nature of encountering other species for the first time and watching how they grow amongst these other species. I also relish in the challenge of properly expressing Skrell behavior and mannerisms amongst others and truly finding out what it means to be Space Froog. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd like to think I'm a very competent role-player. I don't get to truly express myself through emotes all that often with the length and detail that I would like, due to the fast paced nature of Aurora, but believe I have more than a firm grasp on proper roleplay, etiquette, and consideration of others in all that I do when we interact through our shared story writing experience. Notes: Nothing to add other than I welcome all feedback to truly make sure I'm up to snuff!

BYOND key: Shajo Discord name/id: Vesper#5380 Borg / AI names: P.A.L.A.D.I.N. , N.O.V.A. , NC-17 , I.N.Q.U.I.S.I.T.O.R. Have you read the Aurora wiki page about the AI?: Yes, I try to keep up to date with all the changes to it as well. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Before the whitelist was implemented, I was a frequent AI player who tried to help the round progress by being a passive eye in the sky and helping with the requests from crew members. Especially for security and medical emergencies. I understand there needs to be some separation and not calling out every little infraction or issue under the sun, and no AI is going to be searching for the smallest bit of contraband. I want to get my AI rights so I can help be a positive force for the round for all players (Even the antags who might try to turn me against the crew). I am also a majority synthetic player and being a non-organic entity and the logical manner in which these beings think has always been fun for me, especially since there is a disconnect from how we as humans typically act to how a Synthetic reacts. It's a fun mental exercise! Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Nothing other than a 'Hey don't dc in your office' a few years ago, nothing since then! Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? I do!

Shajo Wants to be Robocop (IPC App)
Lilly Evans replied to Lilly Evans's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I actually considered Quartermaster, but I was unsure about the rate of advancement for an IPC fresh placed on the station. Thus I used Cargo Tech as the stepping stone towards the goal of Quartermaster. However! I do intend to have him fulfill the role of Quartermaster as his primary job occupation, I thought I might roleplay out being a base tech and then being moved to QM through aptitude. -
Shajo Wants to be Robocop (IPC App)
Lilly Evans replied to Lilly Evans's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I imagined Task being first generational model Industrial, capable of lifting heavy objects when required and performing the actual loading of heavy articles onto buyers crafts after arranging the purchases! Which means Task is no longer capable of the feats they used to be and has to learn to cope with a new, 'lesser' frame compared to what they had before. He is, presently, in a Barebones Baseline chassis as it was cheap to acquire. He might upgrade later if he earns the funds! -
BYOND Key: Shajo Character Name: Lilly Evans, Chase stall, Khadim Shadir, Lasciel Samara, Xaio Ren Fa, Inquisitor, Muse, Empress, Dustin Lockheart, Nova, Meiling Fa Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: IPC Baseline Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Why do you wish to play this specific race: After playing for a few years on this server and interacting with all of the players and the various races they have been, IPC has always struck me as one of the two most curious races that someone could choose to be. Stepping beyond the standard mortal coil and exploring the methodical and fact-oriented existence of artificial intelligence forces a change in perspective that I find most appealing, which can be shown in my frequent playing of the station AI as Empress, Inquisitor, or Nova. Their specific lore is quite appealing: They were created for a purpose or task, some gaining freedom and others not. Why are they on the station, how did they get there, how has their existence been in a galaxy that is racist against them. It's hard to explain the singular reason that I find them appealing, but a major factor is simply: It is what I am not. It is a machine given sentience and the exploration of alternative life and what that existence means is such a joyful RP avenue that I can no longer pass up not having an application put in for it. I don't want to simply be another cat or lizard running around, I want to try and etch out a unique existence on the station with an entity that differs greatly from most of the other inhabitants. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: A human can form irrational thought on a complex level that allows us to create illusions about the very nature of existence and the world we interact with. For an IPC, this is not so much the case. While still possible when given false information that is acted upon, an IPC treats the world with cause and effect that is rationalized through knowledge without the application of extreme emotion. It is a disconnect from that intense emotion and the reliance upon more logic-oriented problem solving that separates humanity from an IPC. While humanity can achieve this as well, it is quite rare and often associated with sociopathy. An IPC does not need to take this to a sociopathic level (And neither does a human either), but they possess a more natural ability to utilize hard logic for problem solving without the typical destructive ends involved with different mental dilemmas that might occur within the mortal brain. Such dilemmas are: Conflicting feelings based upon emotional attachment that leads to irrational action. An IPC can still have their feelings take part in decisions, but ultimately the programming instilled in them will determine a simple cause and effect readout that, weighing all probability against one another, will determine the outcome in a logical manner. Along with this an IPC has little fear of several things that might affect mortals such as lower pressure or phoron in a chamber, allowing them to handle situations that most humans could not and leading to a lack of fear, if indeed an IPC can register true fear, that humans might feel. They also have less of a regard for physical damage. Yes, they are expensive. But losing a hand simply means it must be replaced, where as a human losing its fleshy bits would cause a huge fuss and following depression. Also, IPC's make less of a fuss about being owned where as a human in modern times facing slavery would hold resentment, anger, or simply be broken. It is merely a state of existence for an IPC. Character Name: Task Please provide a short backstory for this character (Aproxomately two paragraphs) Commissioned by a wealthy farming family on Vysoka, Task was designed with a very basic principle in mind: Manage the collection and shipping of goods from the thousands of acres of farmland that the family possessed. Paying overseers to manage each section of farmland had proven an unnecessary expense for the family and it was their belief that possessing an IPC could allow them to catalogue their harvests and set up shipments more efficiently. Without requiring the normal rest of a human, Task did the job and it did it well. At the end of each day Tasktravelled to the various warehouses, visually collecting data about each days harvest before uploading it to a central computer for buyers to place bids upon them. Within a set threshold Task would accept, deny, or counter offer each bid and organize when they would pick up their deliveries. Scheduling of these was vital to ensure too many buyers did not arrive at once. And Task excelled, their positronic brain allowing for advanced calculations within moments. And the family profited. Three years passed and with the addition of calculating new crops to be planted in the colder seasons to provide more year-round harvests, Task's family brought in almost twenty percent more profit each year. Task was kept well maintained and with fresh coats of paint and parts, and Task was simply content to do its assigned duties with what might be some mechanical level of joy at a job well done. During a routine nightly inspection of wares Task encountered a thief in one of the storehouses and, when Task whent to call for Aid, the thief battered them with a crowbar until Task could no longer move. While not a threat to Task's existence itself, several internal components sparked and caught the dried food stores on fire. And Task burned. When the fire crews had finally put out the flames, Task was left a charred shell of its original existence. The only light of hope was that the positronic brain that made up the core of their being was still in tact. But the repairs… Even the extra revenue Task had generated was not enough to cover repairs. Instead the remains were consigned to a travelling merchant to find a buyer for Task, one who could invest the resources in their continued existence. Months passed and Task was left in a shuttles storeroom, trying to comprehend why it had been sold when it had done such a good job, had been praised for it.. And finally a buyer was found. A young executive from Nanotrasen, noting the remains of Task and understanding the positronic brain was functional, placed a lowball bid for the IPC. And the family accepted, simply glad to have made some return. Over the next year the Executive invested funds to gather the parts required to build the IPC's shell once more and once Task had been completed, was offered a chance to earn its freedom. Ten times the price of its repairs and the original purchase cost paid back to the Executive and Task could do what it wanted. Not knowing what else to do, Task accepted the offer and was stationed aboard the Aurora as a Cargo Technician, reflecting its programmed specialty, to earn its wage as an owned IPC. What do you like about this character? I love the fact that Task simply enjoyed the job it was doing. They wanted to do the best they could for their owners because it was not only what it was programmed to do, but because it felt satisfaction at doing so. Task is not out for self interest, but rather enriching the area around it with efficiency. It's also the start of a new life for Task, allowing it to explore interactions with other entities which it has never met before and forming its open opinions about the wider galaxy. Task is, for the most part, a blank slate save for the job it knows how to do. And deep within that IPC is a shred of something it does not logically understand: Resentment. An inability for its programming to function at optimal levels when recalling events it had experienced on its original owners property. What do they mean? What does it truly mean to be sentient? What would Task do with its bought freedom? All of these things I get to explore with a character who's never had to consider these things and will literally build its existence around Aurora Station! How would you rate your role-playing ability? Above par. I love to Role-Play and take my time to do so, exploring the personalities and backstories of others while trying to form lasting relationships and friendships. This can be a bit hard at times, as we technically play in a business environment on the Aurora and people need to work, but I love it when someone stops and takes the time for that five minutes to get to know one another! Notes: This is my first App for anything (At least I think it is? Been here a few years and I don't think I've app'd for anything else), and while I have a solid grasp of the lore if anything is found lacking I am 100% open to being educated and incorporating what I am told into my role play!
