Works fine, thank you very much. ❤️ Was the problem indeed from me accidentally joining with a VPN as I assumed?

BYOND Key: SoapyCupTotal Ban Length: PermaBanning staff member's Key: AlberykReason of Ban: Exploding bomb in medbay for no reasonReason for Appeal: I accidentally joined while my VPN was on and it associated my key with another account (it shows soundvandalism). I personally never did anything to be banned, and I'll make sure to not make the same mistake again and join with my VPN on.

With the new journalist roles, there are increased incentives to play journalist. Some players like to write longer stories or editorial pieces, as well as shorter updates on station happenings. The current character limit is extremely insufficient for being able to post a longer story, and thus limits the journalist to either only post short stories, (where they have a reduced capacity to show their personality), or to post the story across multiple posts, which spams notifications to the entire station. It is clear that the character limit should be increased—to at least double what it is now—however I'm open to feedback.

I like this, Having a sort of endurance system could improve RP quite a bit.

I was the one that dealt with the guy that did the painting and will confirm that it was not DaBurs. -
Blingx3 Head of staff application.
SoapyCup replied to Blingx3's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I've RP'd with Joy several times, and it's been nothing but good. Bling seems like a responsible person, and I don't see a reason that he shouldn't be able to play HOS. -
Cobracoco007 Dionea Application V1
SoapyCup replied to cobracoco007's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Cobracoco is a good RPer and has done good things with his IPC and tajaran whitelists. I enjoy playing with him and I don't see any reason he shouldn't have it. -
Yes, you probably should. I can approve it after that. Edited

I quite like it actually, but I guess they don't have the slur anymore? But yeah, I wrote the first half a month ago and wrote the bio recently. I can edit my application if you would like me to do that.

BYOND Key:SoapyCup Character Names:Karina Miller, Jessica Brice, Oscar Faust, Brooke Stroble Species you are applying to play:Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt):Light Blue Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wish to play as a Skrell character because of the RP opportunities and the lack of skrell on the station. I plan to make my character part of the Dienabi religion, which worships dionea, a race that is usually neglected. The difference between how skrell and humans form their sentences will be fun to play with, and I will enjoy how they treat the other races like small children. Skrell are some of the most reliable and trusted workers for NT, so there should be more of them on-board the Aurora. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well, they have their own language. Skrell lack teeth and gums, which means they prefer soft foods, and they can't digest meat well. They speak in short concise sentences, rather than the drawn out expressions humans use. They have large heads with giant tentacles, so they need special hardsuit helmets, and tend to opt out of wearing hats. Skrell are amphibious, so of course they can breathe underwater and have webbing in between their fingers. Skrell are typically shorter then humans, pretty much look like frogs. The most important differences are mental though, Skrell are logical, not impulsive. They won't fight a fight they can't win and tend to accept death rather than flee. They also will live hundreds of years more than humans, letting them learn much, much more than a measly human ever would. Character Name:Jardine Quar-Tup Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Jardine Quar-Tup was born on Jargov IV into a low-class family. Jardine's father was a Dienabi minister, leading to the family being disliked, and looked down upon. Jardine was bullied in school leading to him becoming more shy and more afraid of violence then your normal skrell. He resorted to studying ancient texts in solitude to satisfy his deeply held religious beliefs. He was able to earn the approval of his family, giving him only slight confidence, but strengthening his beliefs. He studied Dienabi in the skrell form of college, passing as an atheist. He did well in his formal education, earning high grades. After his formal education, he looked for a job as a Dienabi minister. Not being able to find one in the religion-hating planet he was born in, he moved to a space station called the Odin, funded by his parents. There he found comfort in the mostly religious humans, and the increase in Dionea fueled his passion for his religion even more. The chaplain position on the Odin already being filled, he looked into the Aurora, a research station. He was able to find a job as a Dienabi chaplain on the Aurora, validating his beliefs to himself and his parents. He still works on the Aurora, spreading the love to all of the Dionea. What do you like about this character? I admire how he was able to stay strong when nearly everyone around him disapproved and was able to find success. How would you rate your role-playing ability?8/10 Notes:Hopefully this will re-light the fire in this game for me, and I'll be on more.

Sleepy Wolf's Moderator Application

Although having a slightly notorious past, he seems to have calmed down and I think he would be a good moderator. He has my support. -
This idea is great. Albeit great, there are a ton of problems. Sure, you can RP being poor and complain how you can't afford a good TV back in your apartment. But, it means nothing, and has no game mechanics. You still start with the same(ish) amount of credits as everyone else and they're basically never used. Having it mean something would open up so many new opportunities. I have a problem with the persistence part of it though. Being able to start at a rich/middle/poor level is good, but it pretty much forces everything to be canon, especially if the player can't edit the amount of money his/her character has for the next round. The biggest problem I can see lies in what happens when you're not on station. The suggest random expense thingie would be a start, but what if John Smith went to space Vegas and blew all his money, or won the lottery and came into a bunch of money. The way it's currently suggested forces the player to keep their character basically the same level of wealth, and I suggest the player can change how much money their character has in between rounds. Of course, powergaming. All the baldies would be billionaires, which would be a problem, and we can't really have a 'don't make all your characters rich' rule. It would probably end up in the same way that 90% of characters are fit and robust, which probably isn't the average. Although that is that, it's not really an issue, and the everyone is a bit wealthy problem would probably settle into the same way. People who want to be different than the rest and RP something different, have that opportunity, so it would be an improvement. Summed up, I think this would be best implemented with no, or at least minimal persistence,

Alright, well, I don't see any reason for you to still be banned. You should be unbanned shortly.
-
Well, leaving out of fear isn't the correct response when you do something like that, but it doesn't warrant a ban. More than a few people have clicked that button wonder what it does, including me. The correct response would have been to ahelp, letting us know that you had no idea what it did, and that you didn't mean to blow up half the station. My one question is why you typed something along the lines of "Have fun dealing with that" in OOC. That's mainly what lead me to believe you were just another griefer.
