  1. But the important thing to note is that monkeys can totally crawl through vents and it's not a stretch to see a ling change into a monkey and assume "Oh, it can slip through vents rather easily.", no?
  2. Unless this is some new thing that I'm missing, monkeys have always been able to crawl through vents.
  3. Y'weren't in limbo. You were in the part of processing where we ask you questions and try to get explanations. As soon as I put the implant in you I was ready to move you to the brig. Also yes, knowing that you can change into a sufficiently small creature to move through the vents DOES mean we can assume you'll do so, especially when you've already proven you're intelligent enough to shift in reaction to confinement.
  4. Hi, I'm CDB. I'll give a brief bit of my side of the story and point out that you left out some details in there. First, after the initial incident where in security were alerted, you escaped. You escaped with an officers ID, fled security and proceeded to sabotage a SMES, not unexpected for an antag but it did mark you out as especially problematic. Two, as for the repeated stunning that was largely due to you repeatedly using transform/monkey, et cetera to escape your binds, I'm not sure if you realize but tracking implants actually pop out when you turn into a monkey as you may have seen, yours was let on the floor. I figured most ling players knew this and counted on you two being left in the brig, alone and able to escape with your implants left behind. Instead you outed yourself as a hostile first contact. You were indeed taken to xenobio, both of the captured lings were though the other was dead on arrival. The only thing we knew about the lings was that they could transform, none of us had any idea to what extent that held. If one could transform into a monkey, or easily slip their cuffs. Why would the rest not be able to? I think that ultimately, you had an opportunity presented to you to remain incognito as your friend did for the longest time. Until you transformed security had no inkling that you were anything /but/ criminals and maybe terrorists(Who were just a little bit insane). That said, I do apologize for shutting down the standoff out of xenobio, the round had been wearing on and I was more than a bit tired and wanting to leave, but that's not really an adequate excuse for shutting down roleplay and taking actions which, in retrospect were dumb and dangerous, even given that I had the dermal implant on.
  5. Then we should start on a higher alert. That's silly, being at code blue at all times would be disruptive to work. Cops, private security, mall cops all have to deal with the reality that "any" time you may be facing a potential threat, on average it wont happen but a stab-vest is the least amount of effort you can put into insuring yourself against such a thing. You don't elevate the security level as a pre-emptive "Maybe something will happen, I dunno" with no real reason beyond that speculation.
  6. Reporting Personnel:Jane-Luc Price. Rank of Reporting Personnel:Head of Security. Personnel Involved:Victor Kaipov. Time of Incident: Location of Incident:N.S.S Aurora, escape wing. Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty []Harassment [x]Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ Overview of the Incident: Shortly following a bout of arguing over a detail of corporate regulations swiftly followed by a general sense of disrespect(implications that I was incompetent and the like), Officer Kaipov was given direct orders to 'not' speak unless spoken to, the order given as the most direct means of putting an end to his back talk, at which point he swiftly decided to state that he did not understand the order and then speaking over comms to the AI, requesting that it would message him(His idea of 'working around' the order) at which point he was charged with failure to execute an order. He refused to cooperate, quickly donning a gas mask and pulling out a large spray-bottle full of pepperspray, spraying me down with it and trying to cuff me before being disabled and cuffed himself, he was subsequently delivered to Odin PD. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: No. Additional notes: None.

  8. That's ridiculous to an extreme. If he is so arrogant to say outright "I will evade any IC action" then you should react accordingly. bugger the IC action and skip to ooc action, the degree of poor behavior from Mirkolio in just the instances mention is pretty excessive, not to mention my own experience with him consistently being a bit of a valid-seeker and racist to a degree that even I(Who REALLY WISH more people would not ignore the settings inherent racism and xenophobia) think is excessive and would lead to demotion/removal/etc.
  9. It's not even necessarily a question of if the racism is allowed, it's whether or not IC behavior on the part of central, duty officers, etc(generally admin controlled things) falls in line with the lore itself. Which generally...isn't the case, at least from what I've seen.
  10. Reporting Personnel:Jane-Luc Price. Rank of Reporting Personnel:Head of Security. Personnel Involved:Adam Hunter-Warden. Time of Incident: Location of Incident:Security Wing. Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ Overview of the Incident: Though not strictly a 'singular' incident I'm writing this report regarding Cadet Phobos's overall behavior during the shift in question. While much of security were busy dealing with a particularly important murder investigation, cadet Phobos was making a nuisance of himself in the brig. Donned in a firesuit and gas mask, proclaiming himself as a "hero" and generally behaving in a way not in line with the standards for an employee of Nanotrasen, let alone a security cadet. Instances of this I witnessed were him skulking around the brig in the aforementioned outfit while carrying a potted plant and evidently "hiding" behind it. The behavior itself was brought to my attention by Adam Hunter, the brigs Warden at the time who requested he be demoted, a request that was eventually carried out after things had quieted down. non-the-less I feel as though Cadet Phobos's behavior was utterly unbecoming given the hectic state of the station during the shift in question. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: No. Additional notes:
  11. That all said, learning to make new custom items aint the hardest thing. Though it can be especially time consuming if you're doing tooons of 'em, plus sprites.
  12. I 'may' or 'may not' have gotten completely addicted to GTA recently, hence my disappearance for the past week or two
  13. Is this even still active? Haven't heard anything from staff and it's been weeks.
  14. I suppose I can see that, I will say in my defense that it seems like few officers(and even a few HoS's) don't seem to really...care, about upholding the little regs, things like "Get a warrant for arrests, don't just let crew have weapons without permits" etc and it feels like at least 'one' person should be pushing for these things to be adhered to.
  15. don't suppose I could get you to be a tad more specific than "Jane is abuse"? any particular situation that strikes out against you? It's hard to address or work towards mending bad behavior when only given a very vague definition of what you've done wrong.
  16. 1. From what I recall, there would be no immediate de-facto captain. 2. Search warrants aren't necessary on code blue, during the processing of an arrest or when you've clearly seen the person with contraband or similar. Arrest warrants aren't required during any given situation where the individual needs to be taken into custody to prevent danger to the crew or station(IE, crewmember axing randoms.) 3. In general? station directives. 4. Not sure I understand how you mean. In terms of the immediate relation of an IAA to a head of staff, they're generally expected to serve up suggested courses of action based on their knowledge of NT regulations, corporate interest, etc. 5. When they countermand existing regulations or the authority of higher personnel(duty officers, central command mandates, etc). Presumably only under exigent circumstances and even then not lightly. 6. Not last I checked.
  17. I'll point out, last two are long time players who started playing a lil bit after I did.
  18. BYOND key:CDB Character names:Jane-Luc Price, Amari Rosensteel. How long have you been playing on Aurora?:On and off for about a month. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?:Well, my main character, Jane has always been a character I played within the role of HoS, and given the frequent lack of heads I figured it might be nice to apply. Why did you come to Aurora?:Was looking for a higher-roleplay server one day, saw Aurora on the hub. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?:Yup! Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about:What Roleplay is? It's playing a role, usually includes building that role up from the ground, both through ooc world building and In character story-advancing roleplay. That's largely what I feel roleplay is, or should be. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:Serve as a singular guiding entity for a given department, someone who can provide defense against that most dreaded bystander effect by willfuly directing his forces, as well as ensuring quality control among his staff, making sure they're not being the "problem" for other departments, misusing their access, training and the like. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:Well, I would probably say their responsibility is to be 'aware', aware of what their job entails and what their underlings job entails, it's no good if a head of staff can't help guide along newer players who're working under then, one way or another. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name:Jane-Luc Price. Character age:45 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs):Born on a small, frigid and particularly polluted colony known to its inhabitants as Noxus, a planet within the outer-sphere. Daughter to a Jackson and Eyelene Price, succesful workers in the private security and mining field respectively. She would spend her younger years picking up the mining trade from her mother, learning to operate(at least amateurishly) your basic mining rigs, drills, and other similar equipment before she would eventually transfer out to internal-security within her parent corporation, serving to break up your general worker rowdyness and prevent theft of various pieces of equipment. A particularly brash decision, confrontation, then shattering loss would result in the effective loss of her father, actual loss of her arm and the ultimate destruction of her once indestructable ego. This loss would quickly come to define her child-hood, leading her to seek to better herself in all things. quickly working her way up through the ranks of the internal security force she served before seeking her fortune elsewhere. At the end of her contract with Noxus Mining & Freight she would sign up with the very same private security corporation her father had once served with, stepping into his shoes so to speak, the woman once more being cut down to size as her swelling ego was popped by being constantly in the company of people truly experienced in their respective fields, the experience leaving her with at least some small amount of patience and humility as she would slowly work her way up the chain until she found herself comfortably managing her very own field-team, her voracious ambition would eventually lead her to sign a long-term contract with nanotrasen, primarilly in the field of internal security and logistics, serving some years as she consistantly sought to push further and further along. What do you like about this character?:Probably not the easiest question, it's a bunch of things. I'm quite proud of all the work I've put into them over the four years or so I've played 'em, I consistantly enjoy playing them out and adding onto their story. What do you dislike about this character?:It always sorta wore on me how I wrote this character into a corner in terms of their personality, abrasive, short tempered, so much as I love playing 'em I frequently end up in more stand-offish interactions with other characters and that tends to lead to 'less' interaction as a whole. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?:Well, a few things. Their assertiveness, knowledge of corporate regulations, SoP, but probably most importantly I'd say their experience. Jane is one of my older(both OOCly and ICly) characters with years of experience under her. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Well, I'd rate it about 6/10, I put a good amount of effort into my characters, building them up, building up related information and whatnot, and I like to think I play the roles I choose effectively. Extra notes:I initially had nothing but after writing way too long of a backstory blurb i figure I'll put it here. http://pastebin.com/CcAqN7vw
  19. Had some pretty great experienced with Frank in the past, especially with Zubari. +1
  20. I was in the locker room at the time, I don't recall seeing him fire but I may be mistaken. You being batonned was probably a big part of the fact that the other officer 'kept' batonning you after you went down even while I was trying to get cuffs out and restrain you, after Jane-Luc stunned him and grabbed you, you teleported right away. So I fail to see how exactly you were harm batoned "to death". Unless death now resolves with a teleportation instead of gibbing for the ninja.
  21. Jane-Lucs player here, I'll keep this fairly succinct. Firstly, Jishna was...never arrested for being in R&D, it was communicated to them repeatedly that they were to serve a 20 minute assault timer for shooting a roboticist who had run at them, the action being deemed excessive and unnecessary. The only reason Jane questioned the decision to place Ryu into the position was because as soon as he 'was' promoted? He tried to pardon the wizard of the assault, one of the most explicit "This is a crime" actions someone can perform. The wizard being straight jacketed and such was ultimately not my decision, I just helped Henji put them in custody after an hour of trying to talk them into coming in without being bound, each attempt leading to either refusal, fleeing or acceptance 'followed' by teleporting away. After Jishna was arrested, had no hand in dealing with their processing, I was paired up with another officer worrying about the other boarder. Another point of contention, Jishna was stunned a handful of times during their arrest, the idea that we just stood there beating on her is however wrong. I was in the middle of cuffing them when Ryu pulled them away, which only further extended the arrest process(that would've been over if they had come in peacefully in the first place). Edit: Callum, you'll recall that you shurrikin'd us first, and then after shurkining us? You hacked the other officers hand off before being downed, and even WHEN you were downed I was cuffing you, going so far s to stun the 'other' officer to stop him from straight up killing you.
