  1. +1 CMO was good with relaying to the station what was going on and was keen to aid new players
  2. BYOND key: Siccero Discord Username: bananajuice Character names: How long have you been playing on Aurora? 5-6 years in monthly bursts of play Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? 2 afk warnings that have both voided and are not as prominent now with a changed ISP Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, in game? Heads help the flow of a round, aiding in the control, regularity, and ability for roleplay to be conducted at a higher level than without. This is done through the facilitation of either antags gimmicks or smooth operation of workflow in their allotted department, providing areas of roleplay within workplace coordination with the ability for gimmicks or character motivations to be given room to express themselves through. This can manifest through things such as the small events to build the team or structure for the team to push upon or build within. The command also provides areas of guidance and support for players that may feel unsure or require a more guiding hand to fully fulfill their duties, manifesting in the ability to get quick answers to questions or guidance that allows the round to continue without hiccups. The best heads are the ones that analyze and delegate others to provide them with opportunities to conduct high-quality roleplay/gameplay and to generally provide an environment where characters can grow What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? Whitelisted players are able to be leaned on for the knowledge and roleplay they can produce, giving a model for other players to either learn or experience different roleplay/gameplay styles, allowing the further progression of not only the player's character but the player's skill. To uphold such, the Whitelisted player needs to put emphasis on full engagement with the game and characters within it. Providing characters the aid in the development both in and outside of the game, providing feedback, tips, or full guidance. Obviously not to be taken lightly, These goals would be undertaken by me to provide others that may not be as informed or need help developing their character to allow a better roleplay experience for all within or to provide further gameplay/roleplay opportunities for characters already fully built Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. Ouzao Zaeko is a Unathi born to a noble Shieldbearer clan, trained to be a potential officer with his younger brother. While considered a wash-out, his experience in tactics and his later enlistment and time participating in the destructive contact war allowed him to produce a sizable resume for the Hephaestus Security team. His family at this point placed all their support in his younger brother that became a Slhiri and quickly climbed the ranks, While also being busy moving to their new home on Ouerea during the reign of overlord Yiztek, leading to Zaeko being off to fend for himself. Zaeko's time in the Hephaestus Security team was met with high praise, as not only did he complete all necessary training swiftly but did so without complaining or conflict. He was positioned on a large Orbital Hephaestus super factory for around 8 years, displaying a high-level competency in the act of conflict resolution. This continued for a few years before a shake-up within Ouera caused a reposition of many within the security leading him to be placed around the position of the Hephaestus's Headquarters in Um'a'yid to attempt to aid in the unrest. He was stationed there for five years, and although slight skirmishes with rebel groups happened here and there he largely had a more quiet position compared to many others on the planet. Aiding in the attempts to not let Um'a'yid fall to the same levels of unrest as New Skalamar or K'rath, Zaeko took strides in helping the local population with various smaller disputes allowing him to grant Hephaestus with a tiny bit better of a reputation with the people he worked with, which was a huge victory in his books. Recently during the year 2456, the iron boot of the hegemony was placed on the planet allowing Zaeko to move away from the facilities he had watched over with the new legion of forces providing good enough protection. Due to his continued service and expertise across various locations, he was presented with the offer of being stationed on an SCC vessel as a head of security. Seeing his presence as no longer needed, and being such a great leap for his career, he accepted with haste What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? HOS eventually over time expanding into other more managerial roles such as XO Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? 3. I've always felt that a lot of science is lost in the HRP enviroment and I think a total retooling of science like this would be a great idea to breathe life into a department that is greatly understaffed (on a science station) and in a way that isn't a gimmick that people will have played out over a week I'm super up for this idea (though I'm not sure how much work would be done for it while NBT is still cooking in the background) and I think would be great to have another slowly ticking job of progress outside of mining, and due to the nature of not finishing your upgrades within the first 5 mins of start up, it allows for the possiblity of some fun strong tools that could help change how the department is played a bit from round to round instead of just a tool that makes things a tiny bit quicker to perform with
  4. Xiomara relationship with the Sk'akh faith is strained, to say the least, much of her knowledge of it was either from shamans talking about them being misguided brothers that need to be set on the right path and dinner table fighting between her mother and father, but with the importance both of them hold for keeping their clans together both are forced to put up with it. Xiomara likes her dad, much more than her mother, due to her dad treating her with a genuine love that didn't feel tied to some other motive, which makes her hate her earlier years more. When she was growing up much of her time was spent talking down on the Sk'akh faith, joining in on bullying kids that believed it, and in constant talks with her father about how he is on the wrong path and they need correction, which her dad tried to get away from such a topic as quickly as possible, but as of moving away from it all and being alone with her thoughts, and seeing the way many within her schooling would view her culture and worship within the field, she has a new outlook on others faith, while still believing Th'akh is the true path she has a hatred for other looking down upon another's faith, she experienced what they did back then and she hates it to her core. All this has led to deep hate for how she built her relationship with her dad and a further dislike for the way her mother showed this faith to be within her house. on the topic of oppression, I speak of the rigid social structure that dictates particular genders or roles, with females being viewed as untrustworthy at times due to not taking the warriors code and much of your role being dictated by intense overwatch, being able to be thrown into the bottom of society at any time looming over your head for every time such is stood up against or talked out about. The view of wishing to not be a piece to be married off, and a social symbol for your clan is interesting to me, of trying to be her own person rather than having the threat of being lesser for not fulfilling the clan's wishes with a predefined rigid endpoint that they must achieve. Such is interesting in the way of attempting to escape such an authoritarian fist before it envelopes her life without it slamming down upon her and reducing her place in all of Unathi society
  5. While Xiomara would love to carve out a small getaway in the ouerea region particularly within Kr'ath she knows that her family may not disown her for such an action, would not support anyway her leaving their village after investing so much time into her, so, for now, she's just biding her time while she awaits enough credits to make such a trip all on her own and for her mother to kick the bucket since her traditionalism is the thing keeping her anchored to the village. With autakh on the other hand, even if she dislikes her mother's pushing of things onto her, the one thing she keeps close to her after all these years was her faith. The shamans within her village were nothing but kind and were especially loving towards her (if not only for her mother's standing but also for just being loving people). As such she views much of the people of Aut'akh as somewhat crazed, she does believe some of their objectives such as the caste being flawed and believing having augmentations doesn't taint the soul, she sees many of their people as ones attempting to run away from responsibility or get away from a past evil deed they have done, although much of her experience with Aut'akh so far has been from stories from her villages shamans and some data that was always written with a Th'akh or Sk'akh viewpoint.
  6. BYOND Key: Siccero Character Names: Alondra Enoka Ka'Akaix'Kack Zo'ra Za'Akaix'Zoz C'thur Ka'Akaix'Nul K'lax Za'Akaix'Vol Zo'ra Ka'Akaix'Clen C'thur Ka'Akaix'Qes C'thur Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: A sand-like colour (167,127,10) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I find the hard-fought culture of most Unathi interesting, the constant uphill battle of attempting to appease the higher-ups and all the micro-cultures this produces under different Lords, or the constant tension between many of the Unathi before even factoring in other species it allows for an interesting range of character alignment within just the people in itself. On top of this the rigid social structure adds a large opportunity of either roleplay in the way of following such, and the interactions many will have with viewing such actions, or opposing such social structure and seeing the internal and external struggles such an action might entail, having to face other clans and how you will lose honor for performing such disrespecting actions or to attempt to hide such facts while away from such culture Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Mechanically they hold differences such as, slower movement but quicker sprint (to represent how they tend to move slowly to and from until a task needs to be completed in which they exert energy into such thing), improved unarmed melee attacks (due to their claws and generally being pretty beefy aliens) resistance to hot areas while being more heavily affected to cold areas (due to being cold-blooded) and various food passives (relating to their inability to consume ethanol, and only getting nutrients from meat). Other than mechanically, they as a culture are quite different, having a rigid male and female social structure, with many of the men taking up more of the warrior-like rule, even heavily being pushed toward a code that they must abide by, while the females are expected to conduct themselves in a more proper manner such as a noblewoman would. These tenents are followed so closely by some, you may be entirely disowned from much of Unathi's traditional society if these acts aren't followed. There is also a large spiritual aspect to many of the people, with most following one of the three main religions and holding such beliefs quite close to their hearts The culture has become a large melting pot due to the large amounts of refugees after the contact war, a war that ravaged the landscape both through the act of treating the other side as sub-Unathi but also with the nuking of much of the surface of the home planet. This has led to a large overpopulation creating many opportunities to exploit the ones below. Character Name: Xiomara Az'xo'tzin Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs): Xiomara Az'xo'tzin was born under two notable members. Firstly a guild member within the Fishing League named Nelpan Ss'scov, one known within Moghes as a large exporter. Living within Janvir he specializes in the trade of rare fish that live within the Za'Aith lake, taking advantage of the many willing villagers within the region to work under him and passed down knowledge of fishing to produce a bustling industry of fish cultivation and trade. Within this village, he found a healer by the name of Koltoru Az'Xo'Tzin, a fairly established name within the area renowned for her ability to produce many 'miracle drugs' from common plant life within the area. These two were soon married off to secure a strong position for both families within the region. After being hatched Xiomara was quickly pushed towards the family tradition of female healers, spending most of her hours outside of cleaning the house and helping with food production studying physiology, and quickly being forced to get over any fear of blood and gore through having to dissect much different fauna and being forced to watch procedures to warriors that came in harmed. Any hours outside these activities were dedicated to the study of Th'Akh, Though her father followed Sk'akh through heavy persuading and due to many of the males on her mother's side becoming shamans or warriors fighting for the Th'Akh faith she was raised under the study of Th'akh. To best produce a notable healer for her clan and through the heavy push to create a great woman known around the region, to marry off to someone of great standing, Xiomara's parents were able to gain a scholarship, due to the reputation of her mother, to an off-world university of health, this being the Biesel Institute of Medical Sciences. Xiomara's constant involvement with opened fauna has led to a fascination with the internal workings of a body and how to best repair them, leading her to strive towards becoming a surgeon. While such a discipline would take some time to fully blossom, as the only female offspring within her family and with the end of the Contact war happening just a few months ago, she was granted such time to grain such skills so she may one day come back and spread such knowledge to her offspring and other women that she would work with. This allowed Xiomara to pursue a career within the world of surgery. Xiomara was conflicted about her time away from home, on one side she loved to hear about these new cultures and modernized worlds, on the other hand, she was spending the only time she has ever really known a peace within her home, away from it all with many looking down on her for the tie she still had with her spiritual side, leading her to become extremely homesick from time to time. With that said her newfound freedom was not unused, she finally felt like she was waking up every day to do what she wanted with no fear of overstepping into other genders social lines, this leads Xiomara to become a bit rebellious, seeing the number of freedom others are given made her envious, though she never acted on these rebellious thoughts, the blossomed within her mind causing her to gain deep loathing for the social structure within her people. After completion of her courses and residency Xiomara was all but ready to head home until her mother had other ideas, she suggested further in the field study, she worried that not enough time had been spent truly understanding her practice, Though Xiomara thought otherwise an hour-long call detailing her allotment in life and condescending nature convinced Xiomara to believe maybe it was best to spend some more time away from her family and their thoughts about her. After various relocations from station to hospital back to the station, she was finally contacted by the corporate conglomerate Nanotrasen to be stationed aboard the NSS Aurora and provide medical knowledge to the station, with a chance at a stable work environment that didn't have her moving from one part of Biesel to the next, she quickly accepted and set off to aid in the station's medical plights What do you like about this character? I like the idea of playing an oppressed character that goes against the ideals of her people but must be Subtle and keep such under wraps to avoid her clan being seen as lesser and herself being cast out, I also like the emotional range that this character can produce, while being older she still can be stubborn to the core. This character I also feel has a lot of areas to build, with different alien views and perspectives possibly warping her views both positively or negatively over time How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think I'm pretty good, I can sometimes be slow in response time, and tend to not hold up too well in combat encounters but I don't see myself as too problematic roleplay wise
  7. Hey few quick things : I as you said ZH are ones that are super up for contracting out bugs so thats all good. I regards to the vocal augments I believe vocal augment quirks (such as producing more proment ZZZ when using S being unable to mask the intense buzzing sound and VH for F and PH) are more acording to the quality of such vocal augments, such is why I believe Ta can have no augment problems (cause they get the good stuff) and I could see a contracted Vaurca getting pretty high tech, if only to make the company more open to using them more (don't quote me on this may be total head cannon but that's what I gain from "due to the desperate times the species is in, speech augments tend to be of variable quality") and for my question - Xetl's brood is quite known for being extreme, pushing the limits due to being largly desensitized from the intense experience within VR, does Pax do actions of note to push for these extreme experiences or has a way of satifying said erge secondly what is Pax thoughts on the way they are seen within the Hive (such as being excluded from diplomatic dealings) and within other hives (as C'thur to Zo'ra and K'lax)
  8. Kack would assist within the engineering department until found fit to be apart of the team as a offical station engineer. This is for the purpose of possibly better understanding other species equipment and mechanisms so that one day when they return to the Aether and they have time to truly make their works, they may be considered to have a project that Xaht'yagz'isk might gaze upon, such a work that may be equal or surpass a K'lax like machine, one that would push them ever closer to being on the same footing as many of the other species. Kack would immediately attempt to decelerate such a situation, willing to say kind words in an attempt to stop such aggression seen towards them. They are willing to claim they are wrong or spoke out of line if to better pacify the situation. they see no point in attempting to prove to this lone bar patron that they are correct in such an escalating argument And finds great fear in the thought of seeing or smelling the blood that may spill during this conflict, leading them to want to reach a non-violent resolution as quickly as possible. This fear would be heightened exponentially more if such a patron was a Tajara. Kack has heard from fellow Vaurca that some Tarjara have been prosecuting some Vaurca for other hives' misdeeds, leading him to potentially attempting to leave the scene as quickly as possibly.
  9. BYOND Key: Siccero Character Names: Zeke Phlan - Physician Mio Pakeryte - Crime Scene Investigator L.O.V.E. - AI E.C.H.O - Cyborg Alondra Enoka - Shaft Miner Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (RGB 91, 31, 0) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well-articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: The way that Vaurca interacts with the universe seems much more alien than most, the structure of their society and caste system adds a lot of depth within character to character interaction with other vaurca or other aliens. The influence a hive can have is also quite alluring to me, with how the hive crafts their spawn through bioengineering and the influence the hives ideologies have on development, having micro philosophies within their hives due to high/lesser queen influence allowing for interesting ideological discussions of how to best forward the progress of their brood within even the same hive. all this and wishing to play a more lore focused character that interacts differently then most Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Much of the way that vaurca are even brought into this world are vastly different with the species being formed towards what is needed before even birth, leading to many of them having distinctive roles and interactions with the worlds due to how the hive/queen deems ineeded this can lead to differing ideologies, personalities and specialisation due to how they are brought up within their queens group. These run into two distinctive groups of vaurca with 4 different specializations within that cluster but the part that largely changes the interaction with others are the two groups being Unbound and bound. The unbound are ones that are hearing, feeling, and thinking creatures that are seen as higher than their bound counterparts being seen as the upper caste within their society, these vaurca while in their early years are placed into their hives VR network, being a library of information of Vaurce of past and present, allowing a safe comfortable environment to learn and spend their lives, before being taken out to help the hive in its current endeavors, though disconnected they may still access the Hive Network in which all unbound can connect too in which they can share their knowledge and feelings within. they bound on the other hand lack are practically forcibly underdeveloped, not being given the brain capacity to think much for themselves outside of the orders issued onto them, and underdeveloped with internal organs for the better accompaniment of the implants they shall receive upon birth. Many of these bound are subjugated to becoming underlings for unbound . This all then being sperated towards one of the 4 specializations with most falling under either a worker (Ka) a warrior (Za) or a breeder (TA) and more rarely the Cephalon who tend to act more like a bio engineered machine to be used to house the large virtual realities this all allows for unique role-play due to the structure as to how they interact with different topics and interspecies relationship depending on how they where developed. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Kack Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character: Kack was like many other workers vaurca under Xakt before them, their early developmental years being spent within VR like many other Vaurca before them. They took solace within the vast landscape that their queen Xaht had the pleasure of providing them, seeing such a large open area may be off-putting to some, but this only drove their thirst for knowledge as They was blessed with a workshop and just needed to find ways of filling it with glory. Kack grew an unnatural fascination with the inner workings of how many vehicles and their assembly to that point, spending days on end sometimes attempting to craft great works of mechanical art within the confines of this scarce virtual space, this is the thing that drew them so heavily to begin study under the mind of Za'akaix'cimm zo'ra. Much of their time working under Za'akaix'cimm zo'ra was not one Kack looks back on fondly, being pushed to their breaking point many times due to Cimm ill-temper towards their often unworking creations, but Kack pushed on deeming it to be a worthwhile endeavor to best support their fellow hive members and gain knowledge to one day craft a mighty work of their own. Kack turned out all the better for pushing on, finding an obsession with the differing power methods that many of these theoretical machines may have and the different ways the same machine can have completely different powering methods with vastly different effects. Although feeling as though They only scratched the surface of the knowledge that could be gained from this vast landscape, their time for study was over as They must now undergo the work needed by their hive and must enter the next chapter of their life. The next chapter wasn't nearly as pleasant as their life within the virtual reality, being forceable pushed into the workforce with haste, due to the added demand of resources within the Vaurca that came about by the initially mass immigration off of Titan Prime. To best support, their species in getting any sort of foothold in the galaxy Kack was pushed into the NanoTrasen job market. Hoping to give as much of a helping hand to their hive and wishing to assist in returning it to its former glory they gladly accepts, allowing themself to be placed within any area in which they are needed, working diligently to best secure a hopeful foothold in regards to NanoTrasen relations and the Vaurce. This while being a goal that may forever be in vain ultimately pushes towards the betterment of their kind, if not to just be recognized by the queen and for her to guide them pleasantly into the aether, so they may one day have such a project to even wow the queen herself. Through this pursuit they has come to think lesser of some vaurca that fall under the K'lax hive, this wish to contend with the position of the Zo'ra hives seem to run antithetical to their goals to bring the vaurca back to former glory. They seem to be striving towards taking independence while their hive is weak leading to what they thinks will lead to the destruction of both, with nothing to be gained at the end of the conflict. They had a somewhat sheltered view of many aliens, with much of this information being pieced together from conversations with fellow Vaurca and other workforce employees who are willing to even interact with them through the thick buzzing within their speach and possessing a implant that only allows for the use of Tau Ceti Basic. This can be seen in their view on factions such as those from the Izweski Hegemony, viewing them as possibly having ties to the joint effort of certain K'lax hive members to help gain independence, possibly for the reason of subjugating more vaurca to a low pay labor force, and the use of their species ancient technology and while they doesn't think that many working within or under the Izweski banner are all conspiring to do such a thing, seeing many of them as merely ignorant of the true situation while their higher-ups control them. They has an equally sheltered view of the jargon alliance and their relationship with C'thur, viewing what they are doing as the assimilation of their people to acquire much of their equipment and manpower through a more peaceful but equally destructive means, also viewing C'thur as ones who think they are in control of much which what they do while thinking they have to chance to seize more power than all through political negotiations, but is merely being played to better how their resources stripped of them, due to this they sees many working within the political sphere of the jargon alliance to be swindlers that use others for their gains. Kack has been working for about five years within NanoTrasen operated stations within the Republic of Biesel, primarily helping with the maintenance of common mining vehicles, upkeep on electrical maintenance, or helping with overlooking small departments of bound workforces. This has soured Kack on NanoTrasen, firstly with the negligent displacement of their people relegating them to such low forms of action within the workplace and secondly the inability to allow kack to push towards a greater position, but through it all, they know their standing within NanoTrasen is the best way in helping their people in the way of relations and income. Fortunately for Kack NanoTrasen has allowed a transfer towards a more illustrious workplace, aboard the NSS Aurora. Due to their new location of deployment and the much higher degree of work they is expected to undertake within the station they will be under the watchful eye of the company staff and be relegated to a mere apprentice until proven worthy through an Avowal of Responsibility. Kack took the opportunity instantly, knowing that they will be able to show many within the station the true strength of hiring their mighty species and maybe one day after it all be safely laid to rest within the aether knowing that they has served their queen proud. What do you like about this character? generally being a goal-orientated person that wishes to pursue the glory of their one station species at all cost, this leads them to having sometimes warped and simplistic views on others due to having tunnel vision on bettering their people leading to what seems to me as interesting lore interaction with others. Being somewhat of an underdog within their workplace, having to strive for excellence within their workplace to even be allowed a spot within the official engineers of the station drives a lot of shifts to feel like a pursuit of a meaningful goal, whether in attempting to gain a social foothold within the group or showing their techniques they developed and their implementation of them. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I think I do alright like 7/10 as most will probly put it, I could tend to be faster at typing to better quickly convey speech back and forth, but I feel I often go out of my way to attempt to meaningfully interact with others, even if such a person is outside of the usual people that I would be interacting with.
