  1. I disagree, but I don't have any other useful arguments, go ahead and kill it
  2. I have to say it doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not the easiest to explain things to. What would have been considered an appropriate response? Because it feels like you're telling me to intentionally ignore an antag who made a bad play, by posing as a janitor then going right past the one dedicated janitor?
  3. It was known the raiders had gone to ground, and were hiding, and there was a standing hue and cry across the station looking for them.
  4. Yes, that was in the post. ----------------------------------------- A round of Bughunt (merc+borer) has ended! [Game ID: clE-aC4Y] [11:37 PM] There were 30 survivors (30 bluespace jumped) and 14 ghosts. -----------------------------------------
  5. BYOND Key: infernalistgamer Staff BYOND Key: Roostercat12 Game ID: clE-aC4Y Reason for complaint: This is in regards to the Bughunt match, and being messaged by Roostercat12, and recieving an official warning on my account. Evidence/logs/etc: I was given an official warning after being informed that calling out that someone pushing a janitor cart while Jurgi is the only janitor on shift (confirmed by the chat program used IC by the crew). Note I spotted the person with the cart, opened the chat program in character, and searched for Janitors, to see if there was another one on shift. Upon confirming I was the only one on shift, I called out on Common that there was someone disguised as a janitor, as we were currently at red alert for armed thieves. Additional remarks: I admit I have had learning to do on Aurora, getting used to canon and non-canon, and metaknowledge. But this was absolutely in character and valid, especially since I didn't catch the person's name or species and deduced their deception logically. While I don't think Roostercat was overly rude to me, or completely out of line, I do contest any censure for one of the best moments of actually paying attention and playing the game cleanly I have had. I'd like that warning removed, and I'll consider the matter solved. - Hans "Infernalistgamer" Watts/ Jurgi Harlansson, Space Janitor PS: Relevant data follows: ----------------------------------------- A round of Bughunt (merc+borer) has ended! [Game ID: clE-aC4Y] [11:37 PM] There were 30 survivors (30 bluespace jumped) and 14 ghosts. ----------------------------------------- PM -> [Moderator PM] Roostercat12: Hi, got a second? PM -> [Moderator PM] Roostercat12: you here? PM <- to Roostercat12: Yeah PM <- to Roostercat12: Too much knowledge again? PM -> [Moderator PM] Roostercat12: Yes. At some point you called out an intruder immediately as they passed by the janitors closet. Can you explain what happened there PM <- to Roostercat12: I saw someone with one of my carts, and checked the chat list to see if another janitor came on shift PM <- to Roostercat12: My cart is right in here, with me, so I knew it was an intruder PM -> [Moderator PM] Roostercat12: yeaaaaaaaah that is very in the realms of metagaming, my guy. Anyone could have had the cart and calling someone out as an intruder purely based off of that is not acceptable. PM <- to Roostercat12: No one else on this station but janitors have access to janny carts PM <- to Roostercat12: That was pure deduction in character PM -> [Moderator PM] Roostercat12: You also have notes about this, as you yourself noticed, so this is going to be a warning. Your character does not INSTANTLY know who is and is not an intruder purely based off of having a janitor cart/checking the manifest etc. PM <- to Roostercat12: I didn't even get the species and name, I looked to see if I was the only janitor on shift and called out PM -> [Moderator PM] Roostercat12: Cargo can have them as well PM <- to Roostercat12: I mean, I didn't meta that. I thought you were calling me out for namechecking cortical borers PM <- to Roostercat12: The janitor thing was deductive reasoning. PM <- to Roostercat12: I keep track of janitorial on this station, and seeing someone pushing a janitor cart during a red alert with no other janitors on staff is sus as fuck You have been warned by an administrator. Click here to review and acknowledge them! PM -> [Moderator PM] Roostercat12: Right, but instantly jumping to intruder on this is pretty jumpy and essentially metagaming, still. You didnt ask anyone anythingabout it or try to find out more, you just IMMEDIATELY gunned for intruder. If you have a problem with the verdict, make a staff complaint. Have a good one. Your ticket has been closed by Roostercat12.
  6. BYOND Key: (byond key) Infernalistgamer Character Names: Jurgi Harlansson, Mayron D'cannith, BCS-22. Ergin Sorensen, Markus Heimdallsson Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Dark green, nearly black, with paler scars and lime eyes. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I tend to play reptilian characters in mixed-species settings. Lizardmen, draconics, even turtles. I like the small tinge of alienating difference. Also, this is my attempt to update my old Fulpstation Prisoner character into something other than a stalking cannibal. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Unathi in particular interest me in being obligate carnivores on a ship full of omnivores. Character Name: Rahkushk Gawgaryn Please provide a short backstory for this character (Approximately two paragraphs) Rahkushk is a 26 year old massive, crocodilian Unathi with a long, broad snout, near-black dark green scales and lime green eyes. He moves slowly, dragging a long, thick tail behind him. His body is spattered with scar tissue from numerous conflicts. It is exceedingly rare that he be unequipped, but with his teeth, claws and tail, one should never assume him unarmed. The Wasteland: Rahkushk is a child of war. The first atomic bomb drop on Moghes was the day he was hatched. His childhood was spent watching his homeworld become a wasteland, running to escape the taint of atomic fire He learned to hunt and scavenge, and killed to survive. Over time, he was found by others, and brought to camps of survivors, and given a little food, a little help, a little place to calm down. It was in the camps of Clan Gawgaryn that he was functionally sold, admittedly for his own good, to Duguluir Freewater for the price of his escape from the Wastes. Dagulmuir Freewater Private Forces: The scrawny, underweight Unathi that Freewater took in was one of the best investments they ever made. With the edge of a survivalist, the desparation of a starving animal, and the rage of a man wronged, Rakhushk grew into a hulking warrior among their PMC, mastering not just the knives and spears he'd grown up scrounging and putting together, but damned near any weapon he got his claws around. He was the epitome of the worst parts of Freewater's reputation, however. Stealthy for his size, brutal and cunning, he saw no problem with just sinking a combat knife into the spine of an unaware foe, a killer, plain and simple. His view of Warrior's Honor is literally backwards, considering Loyalty the highest call and Rightenousness the least important, if not a fantasy for those who lived before the bombs. While he fought with great effectiveness among his company, eventually the money and the danger began to cancel out, and eventually, he negotiated his buyout by a company willing to give him a dangerous place to work, without the legal complications of being in a warzone against registered sentients. He'd become a miner, and kill things that were much more socially acceptable. Hephaestus Industries: Now, his real shot at a "normal" life has come, and he's ill-fitted to it, but if there is any truth to him, is that he is stubborn. So, he clocks in, and goes mining, ready to spend all shift making himself richer through labor, or battling any hostiles that threaten him and "his unit", which has come to mean his fellow miners. This balance of peaceful earning and violent danger suit him just fine. What do you like about this character? (Describe what you like about this character How would you rate your role-playing ability? I've been Dungeon Mastering for roughly 35 years, and played dozens of systems. I also adapt and learn fast. So I'd say pretty good. Notes:
  7. So, didn't know about the help/harm stance thing, that eliminates 2 and helps 3 a lot. As for the push broom, ideally, if you sweep the pile to a space with a chute, you'd push it right in, but the use of the bag works nicely (now that I know about the stance problem).
  8. So, here's what Janitors are going to want: 1) A push broom to clean up dozens of shell casings and brush them into the trash 2) The ability to empty trashbags into the trash without losing the bag 3) More trashbags 4) Ammonia or space cleaner dispenser Apart from that... doing great.
