How long have you been playing on Aurora?
I have played for 2+ weeks now i think, if not longer
Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?
No
Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.
What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?
The OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is to provide leadership and direction for their department while helping create engaging roleplay for everyone involved. A Head of Staff should ensure that newer and less experienced players have someone they can turn to for guidance, while also coordinating their department so that everyone has meaningful work and opportunities to participate. As a Chief Engineer specifically, this means organizing engineering tasks, responding to station issues, and ensuring the engineering team remains active and involved rather than leaving people without direction.
What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?
Whitelisted players are expected to set a positive example for roleplay quality, server rules, and player interaction. They should help foster a welcoming environment, encourage roleplay, and avoid using their authority to dominate situations. As a whitelisted player, I would strive to remain approachable, assist newer players when possible, communicate clearly, and make decisions that create enjoyable roleplay for others. I believe command roles should focus on facilitating stories and interactions rather than simply giving orders.
Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon.
Solomon Azevedo spent much of his career working aboard corporate facilities and vessels, specializing in infrastructure maintenance, power systems, and emergency repairs. The instability and uncertainty brought about by recent events in the Spur reinforced his belief that reliable engineering and strong leadership are essential to keeping people safe. Seeing how quickly situations can deteriorate when critical systems fail motivated him to take on greater responsibility. Seeking a position where his experience could have a larger impact, he accepted a transfer to the SCCV Horizon, where he hopes to contribute both as an engineer and as a leader capable of guiding a department through difficult situations.
What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?
My primary goal is to play Chief Engineer. Engineering is the department I am most interested in, and I enjoy both the technical aspects of the role and the leadership responsibilities that come with it. While Chief Engineer would be my main command role, I also intend to continue playing regular engineering roles to maintain familiarity with the department and help support roleplay from multiple perspectives.
Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?
Yes. I have read through the relevant command role pages, with particular focus on the Chief Engineer role and its responsibilities. I understand that command positions require knowledge of server rules, roleplay expectations, departmental management, and escalation procedures. I also intend to continue reviewing the wiki whenever updates are made so that my understanding remains current.
Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking:
Solomon Azevedo — Chief Engineer
Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?
Yes. I understand that a command whitelist is a privilege rather than a guarantee, and that it can be removed if I fail to meet the expected standards of conduct, roleplay quality, or rule compliance. I am prepared to accept responsibility for my actions and continue improving as a player.
Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums?
The request for a link is made, but i have not yet seen a link request ingame.
Extra notes:
Although I have only been playing Aurora for a relatively short period of time, I have been actively learning the server's mechanics, lore, and roleplay expectations. I am applying because I enjoy the Engineering department and would like the opportunity to contribute to the server through a leadership role. I am always open to feedback and willing to learn from both staff and fellow players.
