  1. Why does he want to work on the Aurora? There must be something particularly important about it for him to work there.
  2. In my opinion, it seems like Security is always the one doing the shit disturbing. I suggest either having them break apart and assigned to different departments, or the complete dismantlement of Security. The only other force that is capable of producing that level of firepower and beyond is Research, but that doesn't happen for a while even with the cooperation of the miners. Addressing the passive-problem, no one needs to fight wars they don't need to. This isn't Civ 5. No one has to go around killing each other for some uranium. If things can be done peacefully like having ambassadors from different departments travel to other departments to get things done, so be it. In the off-chance that someone has a bruised ego and wants to declare war on another department, I'd suggest having them declare war before they get their pitchforks and torches out.
  3. Do it. Just do it! I've always felt that Robotics was too simple and that it was this here and that there. This added complexity will make it fun for both the cyborgs trying different combinations as well as the robotics operating on them. As for the indicating visuals, I'd recommend the complete re-sprite of the cyborg. Instead of whole colors, they are different blocks : yellow block (engineering), red block (Security), blue block (Medical), et cetera. And each piece, depending on how big the chassis is to fit all the modules, can be big or small. So rather than a whole red or whole blue cyborg, it would be like: Oh, I see a cyborg that's mainly yellow and grey. That one won't be useful. There's another one over there that looks like a rainbow. Should probably ask him for help. In regards to the modules, I'd only like to suggest the generators not only being useful to the cyborg, but to the players. Have the tinbox turn on its generator, and plug him right into the APC. In times where the station is all black and there's no power, you can find a cyborg and have him or her plug itself right into the APC. It would basically be a special type of power cell, but instead of a power cell, it's the cyborg's extended power plug inside. Keep up the good work. Love the ideas you're pushing forward.
  4. BYOND Key: I_speak_money Character Names: Pomeroy & Talbot, Amin Ramill Species you are applying to play: Integrated Positronic Chassis What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Thoroughly Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I was playing as a nuclear operative some time ago. As all the plans were set and we were ready to deploy, one of our own said he couldn't go with us as he was a robot. I didn't understand what he was talking about. He then proceeded to strip himself nude. At that point, I learned that IPC's could disguise as other aliens which I thought was crazy cool and it gave me the courage to write my own application. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I feel like this alien would be a completely different way to role-play than I previously have known. Rather than being an entitled human with a normal job, I would be transported into a robotic shell. I feel like the alien could be analyzed similarly to the freedmen after the Civil War. They're both basically free, but it's still odd for both of them as they try to adapt to society and hope for the best if society is willing to let them in. In the case of the freedmen, there was still hatred and discrimination. In the case of the IPC, it still is very obvious and awkward as they try to fit in a world of humans and other races. Character Name: Benedict Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Hephaestus Industries, along with the rest of Nanotrasen’s competitors, have the same goal: to one-up Nanotrasen. As they were looking for different ways to get their feet in Nanotrasen’s metaphorical door, their R&D department decided to think outside the box with one of their old projects. The project was originally designed to make it easier for robots to transition into a society full of humans and other alien creatures: IPCs suited with the technology would be capable of mimicking any of the well-known races in the galaxy. In a desperate attempt to stay in the race against Nanotrasen, the HI engineers went to work on the infiltrator prototype. Its only task would be to infiltrate deep into one of Nanotrasen’s many research stations and to commit corporate espionage. They named the project Benedict, after the infamous Benedict Arnold from the Revolutionary War. And thus, Benedict was born. Building Benedict was easy. Training was even easier. Making the believable and bulletproof backstory was going to be the challenge. Their intelligence division went to work. NG-2143 was one of the many work-bots needed to quench New Gibson’s thirst for labor for their industrial work horse. NG-2143 was specifically deployed to one of the ship-building facilities on New Gibson. With the monetary support of Hephaestus Industries and some glitches in the logging system of the facility, NG-2134 allegedly worked as a ship-builder for fourteen months before raising the capital to purchase its freedom. In actuality, NG-2134 never moved a single actuator for any ship and was immediately prepped for deployment at the NSS Aurora. What do you like about this character? I like the whole secrecy aspect of him. He seems like a very fun and interesting character to role-play as. I'd imagine he focus his efforts mainly through Research and Engineering as he can absorb the most knowledge about the Aurora and Nanotrasen in those two areas while also being able to steal research for HI. His interactions with other crew-members will certainly be a fun role-play exercise. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Mediocre. I cannot really say I'm great or good as I've seen some really, really good role-play out of some of the other more experienced and veteran players from this server. I'm always trying to get better.
