Guest
(Written in collaboration with Citty/Thealienhasheightenedsenses) Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Faction Founding/Settlement Date (if applicable): October 25th, 2400 Region of Space: Sol Central Controlled by (if not a faction): Sol Alliance (If there is enough interest, 12+ Buy in's, They will be controlled by a Council of Six, The main Councillor will be named Ambroise D'Aramitz) Other Snapshot information: -Telepathically enabled whales control space ships, Do to their impeccable navigation skills -French and Germanic civilians, Basically the space equivalent of Franco-Germany -They are highly invested in singularity and black hole research, and are often major suppliers of singularity engine parts to space stations and colonies -A sizable mining and power industry on the Moon -They're mainly focused on their Space Fleet, And some military personnel seek Leadership roles on other stations. Long Description: Formed in the hellfire of the wars plaguing the Earth in the early days of the Sol Alliance, the NeoCarolingian Federation was created, originally, as an alliance between the parties of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. Plagued by years of war and insurrection, the allies formed a council between nations to help guide a reconstruction attempt, and thus, the Federation as we know it today was born. Although set out to be a temporary council, it met with so much success that it lasted to the modern era. Today, the NeoCarolingian Federation is a fairly large player in Sol Alliance politics, being a center of education and application in medicinal and physical sciences, providing advances such as medical nanorobots and extremely efficient singularity engines. Notable features of the Earthbound side of the federation include, but are not limited to: Enormous "tech parks", which are massive centers of education and experimentation alike, featuring simulation booths and enormous laboratories, old Earth arts and monuments, large space ports which are centers of commerce and cultural exchange, highly appreciated culinary arts, advanced medical facilities and hospitals, roboticization of industry and agriculture, and future plans are in place for a space elevator. The citizens of the Federation are often involved and appreciative of the finer arts, such as painting, writing, music, and recently, neural interface interactive projects. Many services are paid for via taxes, such as transportation, medical care, and basic housing, akin to a socialist system. Though, this isn't to say that the Federation isn't one of the capitalist centers of the world. Advertisment and megacorporations run rampant through the Federation, with a notable example being Nanotrasen, who have an essential monopoly on plasma based energy sources as well as numerous commercial and entertainment products. The Federation also has claims on large portions of the Sea of Tranquility on Luna, where they have set up numerous colonies and research facilities, as well as a tritium mining industry for use in the nuclear reactors which power a large fraction of the Federation. A large solar panel field is present in this Lunar territory as well, supplying around 24% of the Federation's power. As can be seen from these examples, the Federation as a very powerful energy economy, and in a world of matter replicator technology, energy is a very key resource here. The Federation's military wing is a very trained, yet rather small, volunteer army. On the field, one may expect to see troops wielding electron accelerators on their power suits, aided by unmanned autonomous mecha. Tanks are a rather uncommon sight in the Federation military, though when they are seen, they are typically superheavy, nuclear powered tanks armed with cutting edge missiles and beam cannons. The navy of the Federation is... lacking, to say, being only a few ICBM wielding submarines and a few aircraft carriers. The air wing consists mainly of VTOL capable nuclear powered spaceplanes, packing a wide array of missile weaponry. Machineguns and beam weaponry are rare on Federation aircraft. The space fleet of the NeoCarolingians is truly their pride, being made primarily of slower than light small destroyers, armed with electromagnetic accelerator cannons and enormous missile banks, sometimes nuclear. These destroyers, if needed out of system, will dock with an approximately 5 kilometer long cylinder shaped craft, which has only weak nuclear thermal propulsion, but a highly advanced bluespace drive core system, capable of traveling 25 lightyears in one week. Citty
Ah, my collaborator. Looks good, my description formatted really well onto the forum. If it's not illegal to +1 your collaboration project, I +1 it. Link to comment
Dea Tacita
I have a bunch of issues with this actually. Beginning with this. the NeoCarolingian Federation is a fairly large player in Sol Alliance politics. I'm currently the one rewriting the Sol Alliance page, and I've recently rewritten the Sol page. Where I layout the superstates that control Earth's surface. Earth isn't divided into small unions like that, the surface is organized into massive superstates like the Pan Asian Confederation (Russia, India, China, SE Asia), Union of South America (All of South America) and European Conglomerate (Most of Europe). In addition, the other "Large players" in the Sol alliance rule entire systems in their own right. There's no way that Franco-Germany would come anywhere near close to equaling those. The Federation also has claims on large portions of the Sea of Tranquility on Luna Luna is an independent member of the Sol Alliance, ruled completely separately from Earth as a member state in its own right. The Federation's military wing is a very trained, yet rather small, volunteer army Member states of the Sol Alliance don't maintain their own military. Link to comment
Guest
Alright, Well how do you propose we fix this? Link to comment
Citty
I probably should've looked at the Sol Alliance page, then. Link to comment
Dea Tacita
I'm honestly more a proponent of not having any named faction beyond the Sol Alliance/Alien races. I think it allows characters more power to create their background. As long as they don't make them "Suparpowars" Link to comment
Guest
Well that's highly disappointing considering me and Citty had spent a lot of time on this, Oh well I suppose. Link to comment
Dea Tacita
Don't get terribly discouraged. I'm not the main reviewer of these applications, it's not closed/denied. Just saying what I think Link to comment
Guest
Alright, Well, Hopefully we can get accepted, Thank you for the criticism Link to comment
Guest Marlon Phoenix
I will accept this application if you accept these changes: No telepathic space whales. The moon mining is a corporation from this country. No fleet. Sorry for the delay. Link to comment
