They were advised it was illegal without proper supervision and approval, given their position and lack of medical practice license. Due to repeated statements over the radio providing self-incrimination that they ignored this and proceeded with the surgery, they were arrested for animal cruelty and had their surgical tools seized, alongside numerous organs, including a heart and brain. They repeatedly insisted it was safe and for training, and claimed to cease doing so when released. They did not seem to understand why it was illegal. Approximately twenty minutes after Officer Kitzler overheard Gutagh and Kindred discussing a price on an item for sale, five hundred credits total. Officer Kindred had their firearm drawn from the holster, and were approaching Gutagh before being interrupted. Kitzler claims to not have seen the resolution of this. Much later in the shift, D'Jar was in the process of searching Gutagh with Officer Easter following more self-incrimination to alleged surgery by Gutagh. Upon searching the cargo bay, a crate of bloody surgical tools was seized, which Gutagh had been attempting to leave cargo with. They insisted on sending the shuttle back to central command, but were unsuccessful before complying with detainment. Upon detainment, Head of Security Sa'Kuate left the scene to respond to a shots fired call, with Officer Easter remaining on escort for the detained party. Upon return, the surgical items had been disposed of and the cargo shuttle had been sent to central command. A human quartermaster was on shift at the time, who's name is unknown at this time. They insisted the shuttle console was not touched and that there were no surgical items in the cargo bay. Upon further search, the tools were not found, however a hidden compartment with phoron-based floors and locked doors was found within maintenance by Head of Security Sa'Kuate and Detective Dawkins. Upon further investigation, it had nothing of note, however clearly belonged to Gutagh due to her possession of two keys to the doors. Gutagh was then charged with one more charge of animal cruelty, and one charge of contraband, due to belief beyond a doubt of her involvement. During these processes, D'Jar had received a tip from Officer Kitzler of the possible transaction that had occurred between Gutagh and Kindred prior. Due to the suspicious nature and severe charges to Gutagh, Officer Kindred was ordered to be searched. Upon a completed search by Officer Easter it was found that they possessed no assigned firearm, despite being seen with one prior in the shift by both Officer Kitzler and Head of Security Sa'Kuate. Upon further investigation Head of Security Sa'Kuate found no displaced firearms within the lockers, or within the cryogenic chambers. And had ensured the firearm was replaced by the previously cryogenically stored officer, before they had left shift. The two spare firearms on the top floor were removed by Head of Security Sa'Kuate earlier in the shift before Kindreds arrival, due to the safety concerns on code blue. Upon a short discussion with Officers Easter, and Kitzler, it was determined that Kindred would be searched once more to determine the loss of a firearm. Upon completed search there was no firearm present, including their spare ammunition, which was unaccounted for in any locker. During the detainment Head of Security Sa'Kuate searched the cargo bay once more, to find five hundred physical credits, belonging to Officer Kindred from a transaction this shift, and among Gutaghs items. Due to the belief beyond doubt they partook in an illegal firearms sale, Kindred was arrested and charged with neglect of duty, and petty theft. Both parties had interviews attempted, however proceeded to enter S.S.D before they could proceed. It is believed that further action should be taken for such illegal activity. D'Jar has submitted the evidence he could electronically. The rest was given to Odin Security to hold in storage pending any investigation. The evidence given to Odin Security would be numerous preserved monkey and farwa organs, including one brain and heart, as well as the five hundred credits. See attached files for Kindreds charges and transaction log. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: N/A D'Jar Sa'Kuate is the Head of Staff for this incident.Actions taken: Bernadette Gutagh charged with 2x i112 animal cruelty, 1x i212 contraband. Jack Kindred charged with 1x i206 neglect of duty 1x i102 petty theft and suspended from duty.Additional Notes: All of these events occurred while the station was within code blue, due to an unrelated incident in the early part of the shift, and one undisclosed officer death due to a carp migration. D'Jar also believes the petty theft should be increased to grand theft should the firearm not be recovered by Odin Security.
