Autism Speaks
BYOND key: AutismSpeaks Character names: Jason Closs Claus Von Brune How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Several years, I joined the forum back in October of 2017 but I have been playing on and off for years with a variety of characters which I have since deleted and moved on from. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I enjoy playing command roles on other servers, as well as having personal experience in law enforcement myself I believe I can bring a breath of reality to the role playing of Security that's more than just some nerds valid hunting or sitting around doing nothing. Why did you come to Aurora?: Baystation got really weird at the time I left back in 2017, there was a bunch of furries and ERP'ers so I came to Aurora and found a much better community instead. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes I have, I hardly think its right for a Head of Staff to sit there and watch his goons mess things up, they need to go and take charge and lead their staff to get things done properly. You represent the most experienced staff member of that department, act like it instead of some lazy hack. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? I don't remember if I have. I've played off and on for years. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplaying is getting together with strangers and creating a story for all of you to enjoy. These days we obviously don't have the technology to be running around in space playing with alien tech, having massive fights with pirates or cooking up wacky, probably poisonous, things. Instead we all get together, carve out characters that we find interesting and play with how they react to the situations thrown at them by other players or the admins themselves. Three hours fly by when I'm playing on this server seeing as it might not be the most populated but you have plenty of regular players who love being on here and for good reasons. I've always found myself coming back. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: To make sure the other players don't ruin the story that's being told that round. Or help guide the players under your command to not break character as their roles should be. A cargo tech should not be in medbay helping doctors diagnose patients and if I was playing as the quartermaster I would tell my tech to get out of the way of the doctors and get their ass back to the cargo bay as we have a job to do. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: We are essentially what players should hope to get to. We are experienced players who decided to step forward and take a command role. Anyone can play a baldie assistant grey tiding and do that for years and if you like doing that, power to ya. But being an experienced player and taking an actual measure of responsibility that normal carefree players dont have to deal with? To take a more narrow in RP role to help better they story of other players? Not many like to do that. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? My Command Character is a former LT in the SCG Fleet. He worked as the head of staff for a platoon of Master at Arms aboard a Strike Cruiser in the Third Fleet, which is the anti piracy one if memory servers correct. He has seen alot of action and has retired early with honors. He now plans to make his way up the ladder in NanoTrasen's security branch to one day be head honcho of such a place. What with the impending war he is keeping his head down and if his family calls upon him to go back to war he will have to dust off his old uniform and jump back into the action. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? I like to stick to Engineering or Security. I have a Security Officer I play from time to time I enjoy and I am currently making my Command staff character to hopefully use if this application gets accepted. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Claus Von Brune is the Head of Security I plan on playing if this application is approved. I believe he is a well tempered character who has enough experience in the field for just about anything but is laid back enough to let his veteran officers take command but gives enough of a damn to help out if they mess up and teach them how to properly do the more complicated things. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I have been roleplaying for 9 years going through more than just 2D spacemen but often playing on livestreamed DnD games that were actually kinda popular. I have a love for my Russian accented high elves with a wild streak a mile long or Scottish Dwarves with temper issue, knows they have temper issues, and still tries to be a realistic adult about it. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Ofcourse, playing command staff is a privileged I plan on not squandering. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Easily, its not that hard to read over all the policies and procedures necessary to run security since I've been on this server for years already, just haven't taken much of a hand to the community as others; Link to comment
Faris
The application is good but the lack of any feedback is troubling. It's hard to connect an application to the player if no one can attest to it. So unfortunately I will have to decline it. This is not to say it's impossible for you to achieve the whitelist, I just recommend you upload it during a time where you are able to play consistently for the time the application is up and to advertise it in OOC. You're allowed to post your application once a round. Link to comment
