The way I see it, there exists two possibilities here. 1- You are intentionally using this chance to rile people up and being offensive, using in-character comments as a vehicle for offensiveness. 2- You are unintentionally being offensive, being unaware of what you're doing and how it can negatively effect people. In both cases I feel like your presence is a detriment to the server and as a result are not welcome here. In either case it is your responsibility to learn what is hateful and what is not hateful, no one here is responsible to correct your behavior as a person regardless of how old you are. Lastly, your attitude and demeanor throughout the ticket conversation and this thread has shown a general lack of maturity and empathy. Resolving this in favor to @WickedCybs verdict and given they have no intention of having the ban revoked, I am extending it to your forum account,. Locking and archiving.

We apologize for the delay, we’re both varying degrees of busy recently. We’ve investigated the round in question and we found that there was no OOC malice involved. It was a hectic round with both sides seemingly hostile to each other to varying degrees over the course of the round. Breakdown in communication and relations can occur during the more hectic rounds. No one is really in the wrong, the round is just a result of unfortunate things happening to the involved characters.

As an addendum, we confirm that the player was a minor at the time of the events. The ban being upheld is for other reasons that despite the time gap and difficulty in locating evidence, we have had to make a judgement call.

After an expansive investigation, @Melariara and I will be upholding the ban. Details sent in a private message.

The warning will stay, but will be amended slightly to better convey the issue. As the server has no current age limit, anything said over discord or the server, even between two consenting adults, is still in plain view of others. Certain portrayals and standards may differ on certain topics, but the one constant on a server without a minimum age is sexual content, be it portrayed or implied. The warned example and the example you raised of "Implied interracial orgies" are not allowed, though we won't be increasing the punishment over it, this post and the warning will be serving as a notice for the issue.

Unless I’ve missed, it seems like you don’t know where the ban was coming from on Polaris. Is this completely fabricated or a misunderstanding?

A few things to note, all quoted from the rules. I asked both of about the body, you dodged around it. I had to persist to get a straight answer as initially you both denied doing anything. You're expected to give us a straight answer from the start. Had you both done that, the most I would've given would be a warning for @Teamplayer101 and a note for @PickleDeSpackel. Taking a corpse of a crew member is not something a reasonable character would do. Even if the manifest is low on players or it is end of round, it does not justify breaking character. If you want to test something, hosting a server for your friend is not a difficult process that you can get help for in the code channel of the main discord. After I told you to return the body, both of you moved to the kitchen counter and made nooses for yourselves. That's when I winded you and applied the ban, because you gave a strong impression of not being interested in following the rules. And on-top of all that, you were clearly meta-communicating, which I initially was fine with since it seemed to be done to teach the newer of you two, but then you used it to coordinate your actions and even your answers towards me in the ticket. I'm fine with unbanning both of you, but moving on you will give a straight answer when staff contact you. You made this situation worse for both of you by not answering initially, and I'm not obligated to pursue an answer when you do not initially provide it. Additionally, ignorance won't be an excuse as you will be required to read the rules. I'd like both of you to reply affirming you have read the above and will read the rules before playing any further.

My issue with this is that you have 3 permanent bans on records and while we don’t have a limit set in stone, 3 permanent bans tends to be too much for us to give another chance afterwards. Appeal denied.

You made a comment on discord that implied you were applying for a laugh. I’m not saying that this is the case because I might be missing larger context on it. So I’d like you to clarify if your you are being wholeheartedly serious about this application or there is some other motive here. I’d also like to echo the concerns that Alberyk brought up when it comes to accusations.

Following a discussion with @Flpfs, we received some clarification on their description of "humor" here. We feel that with the clarification, that the character is not made in bad faith. However, we still require the player to take into consideration the concrete and potential issues raised here in future interactions. In essence, reign in the character a bit and to put more thought before posting about certain themes.

Somethings that were mentioned in the thread have already been dealt with in the past so it cannot be pursued any further. That being said, there are a few things during our investigation that requires a few comments on. To clarify some misunderstanding, the staff team does moderate IC interaction from an OOC perspective in the same way we do the actual server. In regard to the racist aspects, we do not feel like the player is intentionally utilizing dog whistles or using dregs as a medium to be racist. These are serious allegations that currently do not have proof. That being said, we also feel like there is a parallel between the commentary made by Claire and the commentary used in segregation movements and the war on drugs in relation to oppressed minorities. We don't feel they were made intentionally, but it is still something you must be careful with. In regards to the portrayal of mental illness, players are trusted to play characters using these themes and difficulties. However, in doing so they are expected to attempt them respectfully with the understanding they need to be careful to avoid making people uncomfortable. However, we have found some of the issues brought up here - especially given the admittance of attempting humour (quote) - to be in poor faith and therefor will be asking the player to once again reign it back and to be more mindful as to how Claire is presented. Action will be taken regards to the point covering the mental illness aspect of this complaint.
