Why do you wish to play this specific race

I wish to play Skrell because all of the character’s I see around Aurora and would love to join their ranks. After reading more into the Skrell lore they have very interesting background and I would love to roleplay one of the oldest and most advanced species in the game, I really enjoy the roleplay the other Skrells do and would love to continue that.

 

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human

Skrell’s are the most oldest and advanced species in the current galaxy and have always been ahead of everyone, creating the first AI before humanity even thought of the idea, Skrell have a very different way of reproducing than humans and have a complex naming system compared to them aswell.

 

Character Name:(Character name) Lilia’Qui Qutill

 

Please provide a short backstory for this character:

Lilia is 121 and was born in the year 2340 on Aliose to a small group of parents, shortly after he birth she was split off from them and sent to a Skrell named Krin-Klaxxi, she passed the 19 years of kindergarten with flying colours then went off to basic colleges mostly surrounding military and their inner workings, this was spurred further by her caregiver pushing her harder, she completed the 10 years of different colleges switching through 4 of them gaining proficient combat skills and military conduct.

Lilia’s caregiver gave a letter to a military band on Aliose and was shortly invited to train and hone her skills at one of the planets military facilities, she spent a good 50 years training there before switching around to different facilities and becoming a strong quality for a soldier. When Lilia was roaming around the various facilities she got invited by a starship captain requiring security for the voyage, she quickly talked this over with her caregiver and went off with them. Lilia went with the starship, it went to the Republic of Biesel and travelled without a hit, shortly after this she encountered a security force there and inputted her ideas for more secure ways to protect the checkpoint, the company of the security hired her shortly after. Lilia spends most of her time on Mendell city and is occasionally transferred to the odd station in the system or futher, lately she has been approached by Nanotrasen to work on one of their stations The NSS Auroa and agreed, she is now contracted by her company to NT and is now travelling from her home in Biesel to Auroa and back.

 

What do you like about this character?

I like this character because she he has a vast experience in security and military tactics and would love to roleplay her exquisite tactics, I feel she would be a great addition to the security on aurora and would always strive to help Innocents and the staff on nanotransen and be helpful.

How would you rate your role-playing ability?

A solid 6 mostly because I’m trying to get back into the game but my lack of variety with my human characters is starting to happen.

Sorry for the delay on this. I do have a few things to bring up.

There’s a few language issues with the application itself, nothing too major but a spell check might be worthwhile next time you apply.

So I read it over and it seems like you intend to play them as an officer? I see that they have around half a century of experience and college education. Don’t you feel they’re over qualified for it? If they had so much pull and experience that Nanotrasen went out of their way to get them hired, I’d imagine it’s for detective/warden at the very least.

 

I feel like it would be better writing and a way to tell more about how the character is if you described the sort of errors they found with the checkpoint. Were they too soft? Too harsh? Lazy? Professionals but just lacked the tools? 

 

Who is this enigmatic caretaker? I don’t see any details about them.

The original idea was for her to be a security officer, but i hadn't thought about her history and considering she got hired to a security force before Nanotransen and had to prove her worth, she probably wouldn't of got to those roles straight away, but after her proving herself after multiple shifts on the Aurora she probably would become a warden or a high ranking security member. This is mostly focusing on the fact she was hired after her trip from Aliose and would have to build a reputation, but because she had a wealth of experience and mostly proved her knowledge to the security force Nanotrasen would probably have to put her through her paces before taking her to higher positions.

Lilia, after making her way off the Starship was planning to head to where she was staying in Republic of Biesel, this is when she noticed the checkpoint understaffed with tired officers checking Identification when she continued her way through the checkpoint the officers who were supposed to be checking people was waving them through only checking there luggage and not any of the pockets in their clothing or patting them down, leaving way for possible smuggling. She also noticed the luggage scanners were half functioning with occasional officers slamming the machines to get them working again, Lilia suggested to the Head of the checkpoint who was watching the checkpoint that they should check everyone that comes through there and pat them down, and double check the luggage after the scanners, and definitely fix there scanners aswell, the officer was surprised by this, sure his officers were checking everyone properly and asked if she wanted a job in his company, Lila said she would like to but also mentioned to them that his staff were clearly overworked. Lilia then began working with the company after the Head of the checkpoint recommending her.

Ah the dear enigmatic caretaker Krin-Klaxxi, i didn't feel like anyone would take a interest in him, i actually had a plan for his backstory but never went through with it, so here it is. Krin was ex military service skrell who had trained on Aliose originally before being posted border patrols serving in the skrell fleet, he spent a long amount of his time on its ship seeing minimal conflict except when one of his missions went down the toilet, a shifty ship came past the borders trying to smuggle cargo, but instead of them answering his ships hail, they had a device which emp'd it shutting off all systems for a certain amount of time. This ship disappeared before anyone was able to find it, but Krin's ship was left without vital systems killing most of his crew leaving him and the few crew members arming for a boarding party to check the smugglers ship, this left Krin very shell shocked. He spent the rest of his career without a hitch but that moment scared him for the rest of his life, after his long years in service he came back to Aliose to train soldiers then retired. Krin had alot of experience with military and this was how Lilia got driven positively into the military.

Considering Lilia spent a has a large portion of experience and education i solidly believe she would would know how to solve a hostage situation, which way a criminal or enemy force might go and how to properly secure prisoner and subdue them without any extreme injury. Her tactics would be precise and accurate and she would always report to her superiors and possible locations the criminal or enemy force would go.

I'm going to have to decline this.

I don't think the application details enough to show an understanding of skrell lore. There are only three I've spotted that showcase the lore are the education bits, the mention of Aliose and group of parents. 

The education parts aren't super expansive beyond detailing the length of 19 years, which is also wrong. Kindergarten stage lasts from the age of 5 to the age of 19, not that it lasts 19 years. If I removed the years, it would just be a regular schooling education. 

Aliose as a place was mentioned, nothing beyond it. It's a place with a somewhat unique culture and background that I didn't see you link to your story, which while you're not required it, could've been an avenue to flesh it out.

Group of parents, another unique aspect of skrell lore that was just named and left. 

The issue with this application is that the above three aspects were described briefly and plainly without providing the aspects that make them unique to the lore. If I removed these specifics, or even if I left them, they could still work for a human.
