swat43 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Since now the main surgery thingy thang got changed, the lobotomy operation at Robotics needs a small tweak, nothing big but a mapping issue, due to that. Since now to get the persons brain out, you also require the hemostat and retractor. Please add in those on the table so robotics doesn't have to bug/break into RnD to get their tools. Also an anestetic tank if so please. We need to keep the pain Rp in line. Else cutting a guys head open with out anestetic is fairly...akward and dumb, hell even i would sh*t my pants if some does that to me IRL because that's just pure evil and mean!
Blue Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 You could do what I do and ask medical for anesthetics or soporific. Because it's a bit uncommon to actually legally cut someone's brain out. You don't need anesthetics every single shift.

You don't need anesthetics every single shift. By that logic, why have any surgical tools? Or even an operating table? You can ask to use medical's, since you aren't using them every shift. It just makes no sense to only give some of the tools required, when they are only used for one task.

You only have a scalpel and a saw because it is presumed that the brains you are extracting are coming from crew that were already deceased. Hence why the roboticist has access to the morgue. At the very most, I'd let them have a soporific bottle and a syringe. But no more than that.

A scalpel and a circular saw are insufficient for extracting a brain from a body, regardless of them being alive or dead. A hemostat and a retractor are still required. Also, a lack of anesthetic seems to encourage people to perform the operation without it. I have seen people lying fully awake for the procedure numerous times, both with and without the proper paperwork.
Blue Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Huh. Back then, it used to just be a saw and a scalpel. Since when did they change that...
Skull132 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Since new surgery. And I'm aware of this, will be upgrading the present map to have the tools necessary this weekend. So yay.
enkas Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Use ghetto surgery tools then . It's not like you're going to make a bloody mess in case of failure, as it happened in older versions
Skull132 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 As a KISS style solution, I've added a locker with surgical equipment. Ain't the prettiest thing, and I'll be tracking down a few old threads to solve the issue in a more pleasing manner down the line.
