Overview of the Incident: During this shift, a merchant had docked with their station. Nothing out of the ordinary, of course. This one does not recall the name of the merchant, but she is sure there are logs of it somewhere. Anyways, as per usual, she announced that any weapon, including but not limited to, knives, swords, blunt-force weapons, blunt force objects, firearms, ammunition, shields, and grenades, purchased without a permit would be considered contraband. Soon after, this one sent an officer, specifically D'jar Sa'Kuate to the merchant dock, to remain outside of it, and ensure no crew bought weaponry without a permit. (She made clear in the announcement that she is willing to hand out permits should they come to her first, before purchasing a weapon.) Things went smoothly, until roughly ten minutes after her announcement, she was made aware by an officer that an engineer purchased a thermal knife.

Officer Sa'Kuate told this one that the engineer decided to walk off, failing to comply. She issued a warrant, and then a manhunt began. They were detained, charged with Contraband and sparking a manhunt. After they served their sentence in the brig, they tried to overstep this one and go to the Captain, requesting a Permit. The Captain denied them. Soon after, Overgaard complained over the common channel about how this one over-reacted. She finds this behavior unbecoming of an Station Engineer.

This is all.

Submitted Evidence: None.
Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: This one is the Head of Security. All of Command was notified.
Actions taken: Detained for Contraband, and sparking a manhunt. No suspension took place.
Additional Notes: None to state. Her thanks for reading.
