TG_Griffin Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Basic Information Byond Account: TG_Griffin Character Name(s): AI Name(s): None (I do not play AI) Discord username + tag: Chips#1338 (Griffin as nickname) Age: 23 Timezone: UK, GMT When are you on Aurora?: Evenings, generally from 5-6pm until 12-3am (Depending on work etc) Experience How long have you played SS13?: I’ve been playing since early 2017 How long have you played on Aurora: As above, I've spent most of my SS13 time on Aurora. Since 2017 How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: At this point i’m fairly confident in my ability to play the game from a mechanic’s side. I’ve had the chance to try out and SOMEWHAT master most departments aside from perhaps science. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: I do, I used to moderate Aurora before I stepped down due to not having enough time with both exams and study taking the forefront of my time. (I now have enough time to dedicate to Aurora) Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: Yes Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I have not! Personality Why do you play SS13?: The near unlimited flexibility in both what you can do and how it is all simulated, from atmospherics to characters' health to the way everything interconnects and has a purpose aboard the station. It's the only game I know that if you THINK you can do it, you probably can do it, and I love that open-sandbox’y feel. Why do you play on Aurora?: I love roleplay, SS13 as stated above is probably one of the best mediums to engage in roleplay through a video-game format. I also started on Aurora back in 2017 when one of my buddies introduced me to it and I have a nostalgic loyalty to the server specifically. What do moderators do?: Moderators are here to observe the round and players within, they ensure the round progresses smoothly and step forward to deal with any player conflicts and rule-breaks. They also aid players with any questions or queries they may have and if unable to deal with an issue. I.E asking for a respawn, they’ll pass it up to an Admin with the permissions and ability to do so. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: A moderator on the Aurora is someone who is on the frontline of player-staff interaction. You’re a role-model and a source of information and help for players, new and old. You’re embroiled in the community through Discord, the forums and the game itself and you represent the server if outside of it. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Aurora has been my SS13 home for the last three years of playing SS13. I am engaged with the lore and themes of the station and I actively enjoy interacting with the community. I was a moderator in the past and after returning to the server and playing once more I'd like to once again pick up where I left off and continue working with staff and the community to keep Aurora running. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I’ve had experience in the past moderating for Aurora so I already know what the expectations are and the unique situations that crop up through various tickets. I understand the stresses that come with the role as well as the responsibility and I believe I'm personable enough that members of the community and other staff members will feel comfortable when interacting with me.How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I’m mature enough to know that most insults are made due to a player being frustrated or upset and i’ll brush them off, if it gets to the point however where I begin to feel stressed out or angry i’ll take a step back and allow another member of staff to come in and take over for me. Everyone can have a bad day, staff or players and it can reflect poorly and be counter-productive if a member of staff takes a ticket in a poor mood. Anything Else You Want to Add: Alb once traded me sub-par ERP for my old mod app’s success. I expect the same here ❤️ (I have proof)
Cnaym Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Have interacted a lot with them. Honestly interested in improving the community, unhealthy play time due to corona and never seen them having a bad day. Exactly what I would have loved to see when I was staff. They need people with the will to help and the resilience to keep it up. Good luck with your application, by far the easiest to pick candidate imho.
