ScutLily Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 NOTE: Current BYOND username is "ScutLily". BYOND Key: yirar90150 Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: This ban was applied by juani2400 on 2020-02-09 00:16:24 Reason of Ban: Spamming OOC, then admin PMs. Reason for Appeal: I'll preface this section with some backstory, because a bit of added context is important in dealing with this case. Back in February, I was living at a different residence to where I am now; with a different IP address; using a different computer. I am making this clear now, to give an explanation for any continuity issues that may arise during further investigation. On this particular February evening, I believe I was feeling a might ornery - probably due to some real-world insecurities, resentments, et cetera: in other words, I was in a bad mood. My psychologist says it's not healthy to internalize my anger, and has suggested in the past that I find an outlet to dispense with these vexing feelings - and so that's what I did. I found the nearest outlet, being yourselves - your server - and I exerted my energy upon the denizens of the OOC chat, by deploying a phalanx of stalwart at signs (@), approximating in numbers of about twenty. The first attack was a success, and was a sufficient disruption to OOC proceedings - but alas! "No action can be taken without equal reaction" - Albert Einstein (I think), and so, the server's administration team was forced to retaliate. For this particular counter-offensive, none other than Juani2400 himself lead the charge, with a debilitating proclamation, that, should any further spam attacks be committed on the server, "full-throttle punishment would be carried out" [paraphrased]. Nonetheless, I persisted, ignoring Juani2400's warning, and instead delivered an even greater barrage of at signs (@) directly toward his position: bad move. Juani2400 retaliated with the big guns, so to speak, and dropped onto me what could be seen as the BYOND equivalent to an inter-continental ballistic missile: the PERMABAN. A more effective weapon there never was, nor ever will be, and I have to commend Juani2400 for doing what he felt was right for the community. After our short skirmish - after the dust settled - all was quiet on the home-front, and peace once again reigned on the server... I believe that I should be unbanned, because despite my prior crimes against humanity during the Yirar-Juani Conflict, this permanent ban will have made clear that I, Yirar90150, have been masquerading, for the past eight months, as a gas station clerk for the Chevron Company, serving at a location positioned on the Bolivia-Chile border, at a foothill on the Andean Mountains. My conduct during this time has been nothing short of productive, and I became a trusted member of the community. So many little abuelas look to me to gas up their Volkswagen Beetles, and provide squeegee services to their grasshopper-ridden windshields, and their dependence on me has given me a new lease on life.. I have learned a lot in these past eight months, and only ask from you, Aurora, that I may be forgiven, and allowed to return to the server uninhibited: I mean, it's not as if I've been connecting under a different IP and CID without any issue for the past eight months anyway, right? What's the worst that could happen? TL;DR: I visited my old residence over the weekend, and tried to connecting to the server with an old, banned IP address, and got the ban logged onto my new computer, so now I can't access the server from my new residence. I hardly think this one little infraction is grounds for a permanent ban, and would like to have my server privileges returned to me. Thank you.

To answer your question, NO, any connections made from my IP address would not have been under the name "ScutLily". In truth, my visits to Aurora Station in the past eight months have been quite fragmented - sporadic - which is to say that I more or less dropped in, and hardly even engaged with the playerbase! During this time, I likely used several different BYOND usernames, as I've been known to get forgetful when it comes to login credentials. I could not tell you the names of these accounts, either, so there's no use in asking. "ScutLily" will be a chance to wipe the slate clean, and to reconcile with the Aurora Station community. Looking forward to hearing from you, Jay Gallardo (your friend) Edited October 15, 2020 by ScutLily
Faris Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 I'm seeing a pattern of attempted ban evasion plus as you allegedly stated, actual ban evasion, which we confirmed and uncovered other rule violations. This appeal does not read sincerely either. So the time spent between the initial permanent ban and now has been spent in constant violation of our rules. Appeal denied.
