Victim?) - Adelina Martnick, Pharmacist (Potential Witness, was on shift.) - Fros'Qerr Vel-Rena, Surgeon (Potential Witness, was on shift.)Time of Incident: Approximately 21:00 Real Time: Between 2 and 3 AM, Eastern Time, November 4th.Location of Incident: Liaison Office, Medical LobbyNature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [ ] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [ ] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [x] - Other: Potential Injunction ViolationOverview of the Incident: I had awoken from cryostasis and began preparing for my shift by greeting both the Command staff and the Medical staff. As I gathered my equipment, I heard Cart Kanara request a No Speaking Injunction from Que Tup'Xequal'Valurex (henceforth the Head of Security) pertaining to Sanaa Al-Mansoor (henceforth Medical Intern) and Mrrrrhazmanq Naldratajrmro (henceforth Assistant.) Immediately, I asked if this was something I should be informed of as Chief Medical Officer, and thereby supervisor to the Medical Intern. Cart Kanara went on to explain that the Assistant was being homophobic towards the Medical Intern, and that 'several people' had brought it to his attention, and that due to an existing injunction between him and the Assistant, he could not file it himself. The Head of Security did not seem too familiar with the process, and filed the injunction accordingly. This resulted in a dispute in the medical reception when the Head of Security served the injunction to the Assistant, who began shouting over the common channel immediately about it. At this time, the Medical Intern was not present in medbay, having gone to the bar to tend to a non-critical medical matter. The Assistant stormed off, prompting the Head of Security to leave the lobby. It was then that the Medical Intern returned to the lobby, having yet to be served their copy of the injunction. I informed them that at the moment, it would not be wise to pursue any altercations over communications. During this time, reports on both the Common and Command channels came that the Head of Security had been assaulted by the Assistant (non-critically.) It was then that they informed me that they had not originally wished for an injunction to be filed. I instructed the Medical Intern to not treat either patient when they arrived, in the interest of preventing any further escalation, and instructed them that they were free from responsibilities until after the minor wounds were tended. She began to proceed to the bar before being called to the security lobby by the Head of Security. At this time, I returned to my office to inspect Cart Kanara's records regarding the previously mentioned injunction between him and the Assistant. I asked Cart Kanara as to why he requested the injunction on the Medical Intern's behalf over Command, to which he responded that she had requested it. I then informed him that the Medical Intern had told me that she had not, quoting that she did not 'wish' for the injunction, and that her initial visit was to begin a paper trail regarding her interactions with the Assistant. I believe, at this time, Cart Kanara spoke with the Medical Intern briefly. When she had returned to medbay, I called her to my office to request more information. She informed me that she had originally gone in to create a paper trail, and that she didn't know an injunction was 'a thing' or that one could be filed. She informed Cart Kanara that she was fine with it, at which point I informed her that I would be handling an incident report from there. I am not familiar with the injunction process, however, given the history between Cart Kanara and the Assistant, the proper course of action would have been to send the Medical Intern to the Head of Security to file the report herself, rather than handle the situation over the Command channel himself. I may be mistaken, but the resulting aftermath did cause a minor assault to occur, as well as a large eruption of insults and profanity on the Common channel. Submitted Evidence: None - I did submit a fax to the Odin at the time of the incident, but I neglected to take the paperwork with me following transfer. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: No. I had only finished my impromptu investigation with approximately five minutes left before the transfer shuttle arrived, and had to make haste to file the report and fax it accordingly.Actions taken: This report. Additional Notes: None. Link to comment
