If you are able to find it through the ban message or need my help getting it, tell me. Reason for complaint: I'd like to be unbanned. Fact is, while the ban reason is technically correct. Truth is that i was banned not because i was doing something actually harmful to the server, but because the moderator personally didnt like the language i occasionally used. There is no rule for "Inappropriate behavior" that i could find. Closest item i could have violated is "dont be a dick". Which wasn't violated either. All instances of such behavior were separate, after which i complied with staff's requests. Not to mention that at no point did anyone take issue with me except the staff members, there were no "flame wars" or disruption. If there really is a list of bad words you cannot say under any circumstances, i could not find it. "Needy slut" was perfectly acceptable in character given the situation. All the mercenaries were playing cannibal raiders and being forced by circumstances to use medical supplies on a stranger was something undesirable. Even if it was random, i dont see how using an insult IC is a problem, especially in a game that requires conflict. The killing was me putting control shots in an already dead body after said subject succumbed to her wounds. Not a random killing. "KKK joke" was a quick suggestion during gimmick brainstorming. One that was shot down by peers, and forgotten about. Evidence/logs/etc: Really, all you'd need is the round ID. My behavior can be seen to clearly not be in violation of rules or disruption to the server's workings. Additional remarks: Having admins hand out bans due to personal issues rather than any in-game ones is surefire way to kill the server's quality.

You cannot ban words relating to prohibited actions if you still wish to maintain a believable (or even enjoyable) experience. Besides that, where does one cross the line with "nature". Breaking immersion, powergaming and EORG are all things that are clearly defined in our rules. Calling someone a paranoid hoarder or a hate-driven lunatic is not enough to invoke either or these rules. I will aknowledge that the "immersion" rule is a little bit more of a grey area. We would also not allow a character to use the n word IC or threaten to rape another character.

Then you are going to descend into Fulp or Skyrat tiers of interlocking bible-length rule docs and stuck up, micromanaging admins. Ripping players out of the game just because they said a no-no word will suffocate the server until there's nothing but sterile, flat rounds. Forget the complaint, start over with the rule page and rulings if you actually want what's best for the server. Goodbye.
Garnascus Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 You are entitled to your opinion but you have to understand yours is an opinion that has been repeated for years. Aurora has been one of if not the most successful HRP servers on the HUB and our imminent demise due to our stuck up micromanaging admins who do not let people say the n word has been prophesized for 8 years now. The reality is there is nothing wrong with us disallowing certain conduct. Complaint closed.
