How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Since early August.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?
Warnings and AI WL lost.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?:
The OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is to take care of their department and make sure things are operating in a lore-appropriate and adequately roleplayed way. This means, helping newer players learn the mechanics and rules of the department in question and keeping the department's members focused on the round and active. They serve as an authority figure, to give a round structure, especially if the round has an active antagonist. They also provide roleplaying opportunities with trainings, conferences, etcetera. Especially useful when the round is quiet and/or low-pop.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?:
Given the nature of this being a whitelist, it demands competence and appropriate behaviour from the whitelisted player. A whitelisted player should be mature and able to avoid problems such as metagrudging, being disruptively overbearing as an IC authority and interrupting the flow of a good round. A whitelisted player is expected to know their department and be able to resolve problems properly.
I know how to work with people, when and where to do what as an IC authority and how to keep people engaged in the round. As both a security main and antag player, I have a very good perspective on round flow and roleplaying dynamics, especially when it comes to antagonists. I will use this understanding to fill the respective roles appropriately. As a Head of Staff, I understand it will be my responsibility to be patient when issues arise and to always think twice before acting, because my actions could affect the entire round and/or the experience of individual players. I'll remember that.

I have had the opportunity to interim multiple times and it has gone well.

Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon.
As of the time of writing, the situation in Tau Ceti can be described as cautiously hopeful. The Orchard Moon was defended and the Solarian warlords are dying out. The Phoron shortage is still far from being solved, but Biesel is steadily expanding and becoming more powerful, seizing disputed territories from the Solarian Alliance. Nick Armstrong is an ambitious businessman and investor, wanting to surf the wave of success that the SCC is experiencing. His investments in Phoron were saved with the Orchard Moon and his trust in the megacorporations was validated. Feeling confident in his choice of business partners, he's joined the SCC as an Executive Officer and is now looking to oversee the Horizon's money-making ventures.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?
Captain, Executive Officer, Head of Security

Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?
Yes.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.:
Martin Walker, Captain.
Nick Armstrong, Executive Officer.
Harald Brytforda, Head of Security.

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?
Yes.

Have you linked your byond account to the forums?
Yes.

Extra notes:
This will be Nick Armstrong's vibe.

(Nick Armstrong was originally a scientist character, but I never did anything with him, so I am repurposing him.)

Neither of these things are allowed. Both of these are extremely far beyond the monetary and influential ability of ship characters.

1. Shareholder does not imply anything like majority share. He has investments in the companies. Is that considered too much?

2. Executive Officers are part of the executive board. Am I misunderstanding this?

Yeah. it is.

Yeah -- an executive officer has nothing to do with the executive board of the SCC. It's just a job title and the "executive" part only refers to their duties on the Horizon.

I've only played with Sputnik's character Tazan for a short time, but almost immediately he has become one of the most endearing security officers I've ever played with. His ability to roleplay is a cut above what I've seen in the department and I believe that anyone with that kind of commitment would make a brilliant head of staff, especially as a Captain. While I'm still relatively new to Aurora, 100% a +1 from me.

I have only really met Wolf Arges (and TAKMAN, briefly), but he was an engaging character and I noticed he does try to go around and speak to people. I think that kind of nature is important for a head of staff. He is also a fun roleplayer, and talking to his characters is generally an interesting interaction.

+1

One last thing: Arges has a pretty well documented and visible history of being anti-corporate on the Relay, especially when it came to the Orchard Moon debacle. For that reason, I don't believe he's a character fit to be a head of security. Remove him from the characters you'll play and you'll be put on trial.

I appreciate Sputnik's drive to interact with others icly. People that don't often see anyone else or stick to like one or two people around have a bridge, in a way, through the players that go out of their way to interact with them, and I see that in Sputnik. +1 in those regards. : )

Watched Sputnik play his captain character. I feel like he is doing well acclimating to command, his character seems to be a bit more individual in regards to his decisions, which isn't bad for a captain. I have yet to see him handle a stressful situation, but he seems to be focused on engaging others and interacting with the various departments when he can, which I personally appreciate. More personally he also makes good use of the AI, having it arrange things with departments which he could technically do himself. It is nice to be utilized.

I think he is fitting in well so far, perhaps his character is a bit too 'my ship my rules' than SCC would appreciate, but that's for a future IR to decide hehe. I wouldn't mind seeing him in command in the future.
