Why do you wish to play this specific race:

I like their concept and I’m growing better at rp and I like what the dionae have to offer in that aspect. Their different mechanics and their different social structure and way of thinking.The dionae are truly alien which is why they interest me. 

 

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:

They are essentially multiple minds in one body, except any one mind can split off at any point and take it’s body which is actually the diona’s arm. They can learn through drinking blood, which is how many learn the languages they speak or even gain sentience. They have mind-types which essentially dictates how the collective cyclops colony of nymphs operates (which ones speak, which ones make decisions). They can’t run and they move slowly. Older dionae have higher pain tolerance and are slower than younger weaker dionae. Depending on the mindtype, the Dionae might speak with pauses, or speak like it’s all voices at once. 

 

Character Name: The Bearer of Chronicles to Spread the Glory of Stories

Please provide a short backstory for this character

(Approximately two paragraphs)

 Forming into a cyclops form consisting of 7 nymphs in the capital city of United, CT-EUM, on 03-03-48, Bearer was fed the blood of an elderly Skrell librarian and thus absorbed a great love for books and knowledge. Over the next 15 years Bearer wandered United speaking to Skrell tourists and fellow Dionae and gathering their stories, where he then wrote them down for the Skrell Librarian, who taught the Dionae to spread knowledge to everyone, as the Librarian taught Bearer that ignorance leads to pain. When the Skrell died in 2463 Bearer tried to gain ownership of the great library they had formed together, but it was claimed by the Skrell’s son, who had not spoken to the librarian in many years. Remembering their mentors teachings, the Dionae chose to leave United and the CT-EUM and join the SCC as a librarian aboard the SCCV Horizon, where they plan to gather stories from everyone they can and write as many of them down as they can to one day own a library as grand as they were raised in. 

 

What do you like about this character?

I have a growing love for writing roles (investigator, chap, librarian, journalist) because even if I’m not within speaking distance of someone I can now have papers or newscasts for the crew to experience what I create. I plan on writing books as this Dionae that’ll be uploaded to the library archive and I will bring attention to the library with a cool Dionae librarian. This Dionae is young and only knows what they absorbed from tourists in United, so I’ll get to get a lot of rp where I essentially ask “what’s that” one round and get to talk about it the next round when I’m writing.

 

How would you rate your role-playing ability?

It’s rapidly improving from what it once was. I hate to admit defeat but perhaps my antag ban was for the better. 7/10. 

 

Notes: TSWGSMME is a harmonious hymn mindtype, edited to add this part but I’m more of a subscriber to the GRRM gardening form of writing and thus this is a very basic outline of what the charachter will eventually turn into over time on the station, and as other players ask me questions in game I’ll come up with an answer and add that to my Google doc of lore
