Species you are applying to play: Unathi
What color do you plan on making your first alien character: R:158, G:127, B:59 (Hex:9E7F3B)
Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.

Why do you wish to play this specific race:
Usually the TLDR goes after the block of text, but given that everything can be boiled down to one thing, I'll do it first
Unathi are cool.
Now to be more specific, the lore, the biology, most every single part of them is absolutely awesome, the lore team does an incredible job, and it's awesome to be able to use the lore. The Wasteland, The Hegemony, The Contact War, so much life is breathed into every aspect of Sinta lore that it's frankly painful to NOT be able to use it. To be honest, I HAVE used it before, my first Vaurca was a Mi'kuetz, the K'lax queenless that live in the wasteland. It's really hard to boil everything I like about the Sinta into one paragraph, as it would be easier to just say I like all of it. The religions are all in depth, nothing feels like a foot-note, and as far as I can tell nothing contradicts itself, everything builds off of itself to create a coherent history and culture that feels REAL.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:
Well, there's a couple of jokes I could make, such as state-mandated sexism, but to take the question seriously there's quite a few things that make role-playing different. While technically mechanical the inability to gain nutrients from fruits and vegetables, and the toxicity of human alcohol changes how they approach food, which, is a rather large part of any persons life. To further add to this, Sinta usually only eat once a day. There's also the massive difference in body langage, something as minimal as pointing can be a dire insult to a persons honor, and upturning a persons head can be a sign of trust, rather than a signal of disgust.

Character Name: Mye'pol Tzyrep
Please provide a short backstory for this character
Born in the year of 2421, Mye'pol lived his entire childhood before the Contact War. Mye'pol never knew a world where Yuiztiz had competitors in the energy market. Mye'pol remembers many fond things of his childhood, but there were two events which radiate with burning fire. Two memories which he will always remember with perfect clarity. The first was a warm night after having helped his father hunt Siro's for the tender meat which they could cook to sell, but as he settled down to read what little information he had access to, the papers all had one topic, The Firebrand Summit.
Mye'pol was polarized by Azarak's fiery speech, and when the Izweski's first warp-ship, the Uezwik's Hope failed, Mye'pol was eager to join the swathes of angry Clans preparing to fight the Hegemony.
Although Mye'pol knew little of war, he had been raised under the Th'akh Warrior Code, and trained by his father his whole life. Eager to serve Mye'pol, alongside much of the Tzyrep clan acted to coordinate and attack Hegemony cities. Although Mye'pol had trained most of his entire life under his father, nothing could have prepared him for the brilliant blue glow of the energy glaives when he first fought. He watched helpless as the steel swords and axes his family had venerated were cut clean into imperfect halves by the radiant beacons of blistering heat the enemy wielded. The battle was a loss, and those who survived routed, turning to run, but light travels faster than legs, no matter how much adrenaline courses through their veins. The Tzyrep clan was cut down by laser carbines, Mye'pol found no choice but to lay down on the coarse sand beneath him, terrified of the Breacher suits the Hegemony had sent, he buried himself beneath the sand, leaving only his eyes and nose exposed to the burning light which tore through the air, each spark slaying someone he had once known, fathers, friends, brothers and sisters, all gone to the metal puppets of Alien technology.
Mye'pol lay buried in the sand for two days, too fearful to excavate himself from the ground in which he found himself. Eventually, as the sun reached the center of the sky in the second day, a Siro sought to rest from it's flight, and landed infront of Mye'pol, who burst from the sand to take a meal which was long overdue.
His clan gone, Mye'pol wandered from warband to warband, taking less frontline roles as time wore on. Until one fateful day, September 5th, 2439 he watched as a Hegemony city was torn unto ash. A brilliant spark of light pierced Mye'pols eyes, as he quickly covered them. When the light had faded, he looked up to see a billowing cloud of dust and ash. The first atomic bomb had been dropped. In the end, Mye'pol had no-where left to run. The Clan he once called his own was dead and gone in its first fight, torn down by only five soldiers, bolstered by suits of iron and weapons of burning light. The Clans he fought under would be gone soon, he was sure. Purged in nuclear hellfire, the same as Da'ha'den. So he wandered, out into the wilds. He knew that there was no honor left in fighting, any and all who participated would only be stained in the nuclear blood the bombs spilled. So for years he roamed in the nuclear desert which would come to be called the wasteland, using the same techniques to hunt what creatures remained that he had used long ago to hide from the Hegemonies warriors. He would bury himself beneath the burning sands and wait, eyes and snout above the coarse grain. As time wore on he refined his methods, keeping scraps of meat from his last hunt to use as bait, drastically shortening the time he would have to wait for a Siro to land. Mye'pol made a promise to himself, that despite the terrors of what few battles he had fought, despite the dishonors of the Hegemonies Warriors, he would uphold the warriors tenets.
What little meat he had excess, he would barter with the other survivors, what hides he had no need of he would sell as well. And as the years drew longer and longer Mye'pol grew tired of the wastes. Though they had been home to him for nine years now. He could tell that the end was near for himself and the traditionalists, fearing the complete eradication of his clan, should he not survive, Mye'pol sought civilization, one which would not question a man like himself, so long as he put in his fair share of work. Though he detested the weather of his destination, Mye'pol trekked to Janvir, hoping to make himself useful trading meats, or in helping with the fishers guilds, but upon his arrival Mye'pol found that he had something very few else did. He remembered the meals which graced his palate from before the war. Although he did not know the recipe for such forgotten spices such as Bahard cream, he remembered the taste, and he worked dilligently with Janvir's chefs and cooks to perfect the recipe for it. Although Mye'pol never succeeded in recreated Bahard Cream, he unearthed an appreciation for cooking which he had never known before.
As time continued it's terminal march forwards Mye'pol grew tired of Janvir. The contact war had ended, and the Hegemony had won, a fact he was bitterly aware of. Mye'pol wanted a way to leave the bitter cold of Janvir, and the deluded society of the Hegemony, but the wasteland was a hopeless endeavor, despite the few clans that try to fix it, so instead of looking towards the past, Mye'pol looked up. Out into the stars was an untold number of chances. A chance to restore his clan, a chance to practice cuisine, a chance to leave the Hegemony behind, and despite the benefits of the other chances, there was always a chance to fail.
Mye'pol booked a charter with a merchants guild, in exchange for manning the mess-hall aboard their vessel, they would bring him to Beisel, a land of golden opportunity, for a man who only ever knew steel.
Upon arrival to Beisel Mye'pol had great difficulty finding a job, or even a home, so despite his trepidation in doing so, he reached out to one of the Megacorporations which hold Beisel in its grip. Nanotrasen. Nanotrasen, always eager to take in new employees, hired Mye'pol for his knowledge of exotic cuisine, transferring him to the SCCV Horizon.

What do you like about this character?
It incorporates almost every part of Sinta lore. Even if not explicitly mentioned in the story almost every piece of Unathi lore on Moghes can be brought up organically during RP. They lived before, during, and after the Contact War, they've lived in the Wasteland, they've lived in a Hegemony City, although they are Th'akh they've undoubtedly been exposed to Aut'akh, Sk'akh, and Si'akh's. They've seen the greatest of Unathi brought low, and the lowest of Unathi elevated to Hegemon (:smug:).

How would you rate your role-playing ability?
I'd like to think I'm pretty good at role-playing, but at the end of the day the greatest judge is someone else (7/10)

Notes: It'ssss assss ssshrimple assss that.

Edit: Improved spacing

Could you expand on this section? What things might you do differently in an example situation?

That's all I have for now!

Sure!

While there's a lot of different ways for people to bond in life, I've found that people frequently default to eating and drinking together, either going out for a couple of drinks, or going out for some food. They're common ways to sit down and get to know someone, but a human probably isnt going to keep a stock of sinta alcohol unless they already know other sinta. In regards to the food that moreso impacts Mye'pol as a chef, RP-wise it's strange for him the larger role fruits and vegetables take in cuisine, as to him they're just garnish, even stranger is people who don't eat meat at all.

The body language is also something I love, both in sinta and in vaurca, just the massive difference in how you convey little things

For an example situation lets say Mye'pol is cooking at the kitchen and someone asks for a salad. He'd make it, but he would probably ask them why they would even order it afterwards, if the customers rude they may downturn their snout, wheras if the customer was polite they may upturn their snout. Although these are all minute changes to how Mye'pol would convers, they compound upon eachother.

Even better, much like vaurca, lizards cant smile, and their facial structure is different from humans, which opens up a fun world of custom emotes to convey emotions which would normally be shown in a quick smile. Fear could be portrayed by coiling the tail closer to ones-self in a more serpentine sinta, Dominians can show overconfidence or bravado by constantly keeping their head upturned, even though for most other sinta this would be a display of trust.

All in all the prime differences to meare in the ways they express emotion, as well as perception of the world around them depending on the sintas beliefs and culture.
