CCIA Staff Application

Basic Information

Byond key:

williammurdoch

Character names:

Aisha Hrakra

Nafisha Nejem

Tia Ferrant

Age:

19

Timezone:

American Eastern Standard Time (EST)

What times are you most available?:

Currently:

Any time after 7:30pm any day of the week

During Fall/Spring Semesters:

Any time after 6:30pm weekdays, all-day on weekends

Experience

How long have you played SS13?:

About 3.5 years, give or take. I don't have a precise date.

How long have you played on Aurora?:

About 3 years. My forum account was made on July 11th, 2020.

How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you?

I am very active on the forums. I am in the discords and frequently look through them all, but I typically refrain from talking beyond what's needed for Wiki development and RP on the relay.

My activity on the server tends to ebb and flow. Typically I can only manage a round or two a day due to time constraints, although sometimes I can go for a week or two without much desire to play. This doesn't affect my presence on discord or the forums, though.

Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?:

I have never been banned.

Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?:

I have not.

Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?:

I have no exact experience. The closest experience I could point to is my current position on the Wiki Maintenance team.

Personality

Why do you want to join the CCIA?:

The CCIA has the important presence as the In-Character "moderator" of characters in our setting. There is a very appealing aspect of handling in-character disputes and cases that emerge from roleplay, and how the results of those investigations can affect the setting and roleplay of the involved characters.

What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?:

There could be several qualities that an Agent should have, but the key qualities, in my opinion, are persistence and attention to detail.

Persistence is vital to any investigation or regulating body. Stopping at the testimony of one side and making a decision from there won't end well. To truly figure out who's at fault and what should be done takes a level of persistence to not end when it feels right, but when it is right.

Attention to detail is very important when working with anything that has multiple sides, points, so on. Taking in every piece of information, connecting dots, and making a correct decision from those points requires more focus on the details of the situation, or else a faulty decision might be made.

What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?:

In an on-going round, they are meant to be gathering information for an on-going case and providing help with Regulations, Procedures, etc.

What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?:

Outside of the server, the role of a CCIA Agent keeps some of the latter point made with the last answer. They are there to answer questions about the Regulations and Procedures which characters are in. Beyond this, they offer a place to go if in-character corrective action is being sought out, or the opposite of that, as well as making decisions on unclear points in the Procedure, Chain of Command, or Regulations.

How do you handle stress?:

I would say I handle stress well. I avoid letting it affect my work at the very least.

How well do you work autonomously?:

I work well autonomously. I'd point to my work as a wiki maintainer so far as evidence of this.

Additional Notes:

None :)

Catsin's been a really productive member of the wiki team, but what I imagine is more relevant for a staff application is that the fellow has always been very receptive to feedback and working as a group. I can't imagine CCIA would be disappointed with having them.

I have accepted this application. WilliamMurdoch will be on trial until the completion of 3 IR's.

William Murdoch has competed their trial. The number of IR's was reduced to 2 due to the large number of trials and demonstration of understanding the CCIA process.
