BYOND Key: LynxSolstice
Character Names: Nikolai Kuznetsov, Solstice Montagne, Roui Talonovska, Reynard Canard, Martin Velnik
Species you are applying to play: Tajaran
What color do you plan on making your first alien character: cdba96
Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:
Yes, I have read and re-read the lore pages for the religious aspects specifically because I find them so interesting, (same reason I read many of the books in skyrim lmao).
In the process of writing this application I read further into the civil war and how it shaped Adhomian culture with the destruction of the old monarchy system.
As well as how the first and second revolutions affected the City of Crevus, and how the current cold war shapes interactions between tajarans aligned to either one of the 3 major factions.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question.

Why do you wish to play this specific race:
I would like to play this specific race because I find the religious aspects fascinating in how they're a look into the underlying culture of the Tajarans. The pantheons provide a glimpse into the traditional values of the society, as well as help to shape the feel of the Tajarans. I really like the style of speech they have (third person, gendered) due to their native language system.

Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:
I find that anthropomorphic races provide a more flexible platform for which to base a character off of. Just the simple fact that Tajarans have ears and tails opens many doors to the possibilities of roleplaying around this aspect of their physiology. Their culture is also, as I've said, incredibly unique and interesting to show through roleplay. As well as the three faction cold war tensions open a lot of options for interactions with other Tajarans based on their own allegiances.

There's the mechanical aspect as well, for example, having claws and taking higher burn damage.

Character Name: Se'karri Mrrzkanh
Please provide a short backstory for this character:

Hailing from the Silver Streets district of the Free City of Crevus, in the Das'nrra region of the DPRA, Se'karri is a 20 year old M'sai Tajaran born to a long line of sailors and fishermen. As a devout follower of the minor Deity Minharrzka, he's refrained from finding any meaningful relationships with members of the opposite sex, or so he tells other, more traditional Tajarans. His Father served with the Adhomai Liberation Army during the uprising in the City, 14 years prior where-in Se'karri's father lost his life, leaving a widow behind to fend for herself. Falling in with a local gang at the age of 10, Se'karri hoped to support his mother in any way he could. Eventually his gang, made up of his friends and a few local boys, had a run in with the J'Shar Mariners; Who, while not a massive influence in much of the district, affected their local block considerably. Working under the Mariners as hired muscle, he personally accrued a heavy debt to the Mariners, forcing Se'karri out of the crime business, and leaving him unemployed. Due to such events, he was able to escape being absorbed into the Mariners along with his local gang. However, there was still his debt to contend with.

While a Moderate Al'mariist and anti-corporate, He was finding it tough to find meaningful employment due to his lack of experience, and needing to support his mother after she had fallen ill; Se'karri, out of desperation, went to the local recruiting station for Hephaestus Industries. After a rough two years mining Asteroids in the S'rand'marr System, he was forced to seek out higher pay to continue paying for his mother's treatment. He re-negotiated his contract with his superiors, which led him to relocating to the Weeping Stars sector, aboard the SCCV Horizon, pursuing the elusive element Phoron, all to pay for his mother's continued existance.

What do you like about this character? I feel like most Tajarans are either purely PRA or purely DPRA, and I think the city of Crevus allows a more unique spin on the Tajaran formula. I also think the motivation of sending the money they make back home is not an often cited reason for working aboard the SCCV, and that's another cool unique thing that I and others can explore ICly.

How would you rate your role-playing ability? Probably around a six out of ten, I have issues building characters and work them out as I RP them (this took me way too long to get down on paper).

Notes: I finally got a working concept down after around 3 weeks of brainstorming, and as such this was written all at once in about the span of 20 minutes. I apologize if I need to elaborate further on certain aspects, but I'm sure I'll be able to do so.

Some questions:

What is Se'karri's opinion on the NKA and the PRA?

Does he have any other objectives in life while working outside of Adhomai?

He sees feudalism as an inherently flawed and failed system that only seeks to empower the people on the top of the chain of government. The PRA, in his mind is an old car with new paint, it's rusting out on the inside due to inherently having the same flaws as the old feudal system (which, in his eyes, is that the feudal system never left the PRA, it merely shifted to become party members instead of nobles, it's still the same authoritarianism that fundamentally harms Tajarans under it.) As for the NKA, Se'karri dismisses them outright as a dying gasp of an undisguised oppressive regime, bent on subjugation of his people for their own personal wealth and power; Which, while not as centralized as the PRA, is another, more intimate level of that same authoritarianism.

As for his plans for his life while working outside of Adhomai, Se'karri hopes to further his skills as a pilot, which, while not as important as wealth, or status, is a relatively minor, but reachable short term goal. Speaking on his long term goals, however, they're quite simple. He hopes to obtain a sense of stability for his mother and himself, as well as move her out of the City, to the Republic of Biesel, when her health improves, in-order to get her away from the conflict at home, which at any time could flare up and Se'karri could possibly lose the ability to send the proper funding keeping her alive, or lose her to the possible future conflict through the war directly or indirectly targetting her. Finally, his last long term goal is simple, once the situation at home stabilizes in the future, long after his mother is gone, he'd like to return to his homeland, to see it free of conflict and bearing the fruits of democracy and freedom. Wandering the stars forever is not his ideal situation, but his home may never stabilize, and in that case, he would be lost without an objective for his life's direction.
