Guest Menown
Resprite them to be fingerless. Easy to do. Rename to "(color) gloves." Instead of having mangled in the name, as this can be seen with forensics stuff, which you wouldn't know if gloves were fingerless by the fibres. Link to comment
EvilBrage
No, you'd know by the easily identifiable prints. Prints that don't show up at present, despite the fact that the fingers are indeed exposed. Adding a line to change the body_parts_covered variable should fix that, and maybe the game sprite itself could even be re-skinned to show a little bit of the character's hand? Link to comment
TishinaStalker
I believe it's in the off-chance that the Forensic Technician forgets to dust for fingerprints, Evil. Which is definitely legitimate, imo because mistakes happen. Link to comment
EvilBrage
I read your post like five times, but I still can't figure out what you're trying to say, Tishy. Sorry. What I'm saying is, fingerprints are not transferred to the object you touch if you're wearing mangled gloves. Link to comment
TishinaStalker
You're talking about fingerprints. Meowy is talking about fibers. Two totally different things in the FT's field. Honestly, you're the one confusing me because Meowy's concern is "Mangled Gloves" appearing in the fiber identification when you wouldn't be able to know that from collecting fibers, but you're bringing up "Yeah, fingerprints". I hope I'm not losing you further. : Link to comment
Guest Menown
Basically what Tish said. >Touch something with mangled gloves >Mangled gloves fibres on object That shouldn't happen. They'd just be basic glove fibres. Adding the ability for fingerprints to transfer would be nice as well, in regard to mangled gloves. Link to comment
EvilBrage
I agree! Considering the topic, I felt it was a good place to bring the subject up. P.S. I'm still lost, Tishy, but I still love you. Link to comment
Conspire2Ignite
It's rather like the whole "cane sword" thing. You wouldn't actually KNOW that the gloves were mangled. Let's also mention the fact that mangled insulated gloves actually work. With fingers exposed to the wires. Because that's just hilarious. Link to comment
Guest
Mangled gloves are supposed to only work for the races that have claws poking out of their fingers. Their claws likely don't conduct electricity. Link to comment

Their claws likely don't conduct electricity. This doesn't really have anything to do with the topic, the topic is about fixing the fact that it says "Mangled glove fibers" when doing CSI stuffs, when you wouldn't be able to tell the the gloves had been mangled from fibers alone. Guest
Oh, that. You know, I've noticed we have had those issues with item identification quite frequently, lately. Wouldn't it be just easier if FTs decided to not meta and ID the item right off the bat? Link to comment
Guest
Would be easier, but doesn't always work that way. Link to comment

It's normally better to make a mechanical solution for situations like this. Link to comment
