Started playing on the server at around the end of 2022. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Yes. One warning for validhunting, and ten notes made by administrators and moderators. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? The role Heads of Staff fill ingame are that of a regulator to ensure rounds are fun, since more often than not, only they hold enough power to act as one. Be it through how they interact with antagonists, or how they lead their respective departments. If a Head Of Security responds too aggressively, or to softly, to an antagonist, it might compromise the enjoyment of the round. At the same time, if a Chief Of Medical is unable to organize the medical department to minimum standards - so as to allow for some players to keep playing the game even in face of severe injury to their characters - it might compromise the enjoyment of the round for the majority. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? A player which holds a command whitelist should act as a guide of the game mechanics and a reference of good conduct and roleplay for players, old and new. That means keeping a fairly high standard of roleplay, a good knowledge of the department you're playing, and both an understanding and respect of the rules. To uphold such standards one could simply use the already available tools, such the discord, the forums, the ahelp, and the LOOC. In fact, many problems can be solved without admin intervention by using the LOOC for mutual understanding. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. Born to Colettish immigrants on Valkyrie by the name Jorge Josias Magalhães Barca, Jorge aspired to work on law enforcement due to his family history on the Planetary Police of San Colette. As soon as he came of age, Jorge joined the Valkyrie Security Department, starting his career as a Patrol Officer. Through his extensive career on the VSD, Jorge was able to gain much experience on the law enforcement field, working from SWAT, to probation, to even K9 work. Though what would most shape Jorge's mentality was the inner systems and politics of the Valkyrie Security Department, and its approach to dealing with the wider criminal organizations that operated on places like Hades. Being pragmatic was the name of the name on an ecumenopolis as big and as important as Valkyrie. Right after the Biesel independence and the Solarian Invastion of 2458, Jorge could see the gears shifting, and new opportunities opening on the Horizon. Barca then quit the VSD, and joined with Nexus Corporate Security shortly thereafter. By the Solarian Invasion of 2462 and the ascension of the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, Jorge already had a respectable position under the PMC, and the second assault in Tau Ceti allowed Barca to distinguish himself among his peers due to his leadership skills. Combined with his extensive experience in the Valkyrie Security Department, he quickly rose through the ranks, acquiring a comfortable position in this new mega corporate system. After spending so much of his life guarding the docks, Barca decided that he wanted to see how it was like from the side of the ships. Using his connections inside Nexus, Jorge was able to be selected to work as a Head Of Security of the Internal Security Department on the SCCV Horizon. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Head Of Security. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Jorge Barca - Head Of Security. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes. Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums? Yes. Extra notes: My ping in the main server goes from complete trash to playable from time to time. As of right now, its playable, but i don't know if it will be complete trash again. If it turns into complete trash again, i may have problems in my trial period. Edited December 30, 2023 by Farofafeijao lacked tag 1 Link to comment
La Villa Strangiato
I like Faro's characters and I think he is a really strong RPer. I believe he'd do well given a chance to practice and improve on Command play. However, previously I've noticed in roles that require a bit of responsiveness, such as FR, you can be a little slow on the draw or you might struggle a bit to respond in a high-intensity situation. Whether that's because you were overwhelmed or because of your ping, I'm not sure, but it's something I feel bears noting. Overall, however, your mechanical play is pretty solid. Speaking as someone who's only played HOS a couple times, it's not a job that requires FR-level responsiveness-- after all, you're mainly gonna be directing people to where they should go. You will, however, have to be very present on comms, and that's something even experienced players can get overwhelmed with sometimes. An overall +1. Don't be afraid to ask for advice or help if/when you get a trial. 1 Link to comment
Owen
On trial from 1 January 2024 - 8 January 2024. During this time please try to play your command character as much as you can in order to gather feedback for this application. Remember that you can advertise your application in OOC once per round. Lilly Evans
Got to play a round with them today, it was extended so a calm way to meet the character. Did well with handling a sensitive matter brought back by science and generally directing the crew with Gremorian clearing. I hope to catch them on a few more rounds on this character, but so far a good impression! Link to comment
Colfer
Given what I've seen of their character (Jorge-Josias Barca) over the course of round ID: (crD-cGk9) as a diona nymph, I think they are a good fit for command, they care about the corporates image as well as the mental and physical health of members of their team, but still uphold the law and get things done in a summary fashion with no dawdling, quickly raising code levels and getting weapons where needed without spending 5 minutes delegating if they should or not. I have not necessarily played long enough to recognize their character names or their actions of previous rounds, but from this one event I think they have a good heart for it. (Though to be fair, My mind kind of clears out everything when the rounds done so I don't remember much of anybody) +1 Link to comment
